    So many upgrades from the first one, feature rich, but keep the authenticity of the gameplay, even the menus and maps, but upgraded.

    Story is not the main focus when I firstly play for some first hours, but it kinda only 10% so maybe I need to cover more to see more of the story. But yes, if you think the game forcing you to feel sad. It does

    Absolute masterpiece. One of the best new IPs this generation and the Sequel does not disappoint. The music, the gameplay, the story are all top notch and offers what is a great game and those who are a fan of the first game are in for a treat. Cannot wait for Ori 3.

    Depois do grande sucesso que foi Ori And The Blind Forest, os desenvolvedores conseguiram melhorar o que já era perfeito. Will Of The Wisps é uma excelente e belíssima obra de arte em forma de game, onde evoluiu em todos os sentidos e elevou a outro patamar os games de plataforma. Sem dúvidas o melhor game que já joguei na vida.

    This game is just amazing. The controls are extremely smooth. The graphics and framerate are solid on the Xbox One X. The story is gripping. And most importantly, the game play, mechanics, challenge and fun is exactly what the doctor ordered. Great job Moon!

    I don't even tend to like these types of games. Even when obviously good enough, I drop them cause they aren't that entertaining for me.

    After loving the first one, I was not expecting this to be as good as the hype was making you expect it to be.     After playing couple of hours of Ori and the Will of the Wisps on Gamepass. I went to my local Gamestop and purchased the collectors addition. the sound track, game play and traversal is great. I adore the game, One of the best games Xbox has put out in a while that isn't Halo, Gears or Forza.

    Me da mucha pena que la comunidad se haya convertido en esto... Ahí tenéis a los fanboys de siempre poniendo ceros a videojuegos sólo porque no sale en su consola. Me da especial lástima que se haga esto con un juego como Ori, que es una obra maestra. No tiene micropagos, sale a la mitad de precio que juegos AAA que sí tienen micropagos (encima), diseño artístico precioso, banda sonoraMe da mucha pena que la comunidad se haya convertido en esto... Was mir gefällt sind die verschiedenen Combo Möglichkeiten der neuen Fähigkeiten. Da bleibt viel Zeit und Spass verschiedenes zu Kombinieren. Eigentlich kann man noch keine 10 vergeben. Ich selbst habe auch erst 12h Spielzeit hinter mir. Aber genau diese Zeit war esEs ist Ori und so spielt es sich auch. Dazu kommen neue Gameplay-Elemente.     O novo ori simplesmente fez eu me lembrar como foi jogar Castlevania SOTN, porém agora trazendo uma visão moderna do gênero, com mais detalhismo em tudo, o jogo simplesmente é uma obra prima.

    El metroidvania mas bonito de la historia con diferencia, es como ver una película de animación, es juego que desborda arte por sus cuatros costados, en definitiva una delicia en lo visual. En lo jugable es un puro plataformas con unos saltos medidos y donde se ve el gusto por el mas básico de los principios de los videojuegos que es saltar, pero sin ser repetitivo gracias a su gran numeroEl metroidvania mas bonito de la historia con diferencia, es como ver una película de animación, es juego que desborda arte por sus cuatros costados, en definitiva una delicia en lo visual. En lo jugable es un puro plataformas con unos saltos medidos y donde se ve el gusto por el mas básico de los principios de los videojuegos que es saltar, pero sin ser repetitivo gracias a su gran numero de mejoras ademas de la inclusión de la espada, del arca y otras formas mas que le dan un toque de acción que le faltaba al anterior. En lo sonoro que decir, unas melodías que le sientan genial y que crean un ambiente de cuento y de película animada a todo el conjunto desde el primer minuto que empiezas a jugar. En resumen este Ori es uno de los mejores metroidvania si no el mejor de la historia y por tanto un indiscutible para cualquiera que le guste este genero pero incluso para quien quiera probar este genero por primera vez es la mejor opción.… Expand

    This game is fantastic just like the one back in 2015. Moon Studios did an excellent job. No game has ever made me cry but this did. The Soundtrack was amazing and the platforming stayed the same just with more cooler abilities. The side quests did fit in well some of them even connected to the main story.
    Overall good job everyone at Xbox game studios keep up the good work.

    Hi, my names Superken from superkengaming and I hate metroidvanias.
    Now that that’s out of the way, I loved Ori and the Will of the Wisps.
    I never got around to playing Ori and the Blind forest for two reasons, 1 I hate metroidvainias and 2 everyone that’s ever talked about it talked about how hard it was, So once I heard Will of the Wisps had difficulty options, I ran to youtube, got a story recap and hopped Right into this 12 hour Metroidvania adventure… And what a beautiful adventure this was…
    Ori and the Will of the Wisps doesn’t waste time pulling on your heart strings, ill leave spoilers out of this of both games, but the events of Ori and the Blond forest lead to events to this game, which leads to other things happening which leads to You, Ori – to set out and gather the 4 whisps to undo all the bad that has been done…
    My biggest issues with metroidvanias in general is I hate vertical platforming… I just do.. and theres plenty of that here, as you go through this world in a variety of sections, youll mostly be doing vertical platforming, dashes, grappling hook type of gameplay, but thankfully ori and the whill of the wisps does enough different with its smooth as butter combat, and no matter how frustrated or over problem solving you get, thi beautiful world and story pull you through.. this is the first time in a long time the clock stopped me from playing a game rather than boredom or just needing a break, I didn’t want to stop.. I wanted to get to this games conclusion.. and playing on easy, which I have no shame in saying I did, made this very manageable.. though I feel like easy is just a little too easy.. .combat was never a challenge for me… which really killed my insentive to explore, gather new moves, or even try them out or upgrade them… once I had my 3 favorite moves I stuck to them for the most part unless the world made me swap out my loud out… the difficulty here is in treversing the world.. the platforming is frustrating at times… especially during the chase sequences… I love the boss fights here.. and enjoyed half of the chase sequences, but the other half were frustrating and unfun.. I would’ve gladly swapped them all for more one on one boss fights.. I loved those and would’ve liked seeing more than that…
    But what you can expect here in will of the wisps is what you can expect in every Metroid vania.. theres things you cant get to, so you gotta go get the things to come back and get to the places you couldn’t get before so you can get new things to get you tio new places in other spots… its an addictive hook, I get it… and I appreciate how you have freedom to do the different worlds in any order… but I’m just not a fan of having to figure out where I need to go, uncover maps and wonder if im going the right way until I stumble upon what im after… I don’t think I ever will be.. but if you are, boy are you in luck…
    Ori and the Will of the Wisps is the most beautiful and heart felt games of the year so far, and it says a lot when it’s a metroidvania I cared enough to finish…

    Ori and the Will of the Wisps is an amazing experience and definitely worth playing.

    The game is basically all of the thing you liked in the first one (Ori and the Blind Forest) plus some elements of hollow knight, another amazing game, overall the game is gorgeous, breathtaking scenarios, an incredible sound design/ sound track, fluid gameplay with great "Plataformer" mechanics and    Ori and the Will of the Wisps is an amazing experience and definitely worth playing.

    Ori and the will of the Wisp is a fantastic game! There really aren't too many 2D games of this caliber on the market, but they do come along g once in a blue moon. Ori, just like the first one, is a site to behold. Excellence and perfection in every level.

    Where this game really shines, is in its art direction. From music to environment, this game oozes that feeling of natural fantasy. Couple that with crisp game-play, multiple visually stunning settings, and you have a sequel that lives up to, and in my mind surpasses, even its acclaimed predecessor.

    I'm here again I play this game just a few hours ago and damn again just like the first one, this game is a Masterpiece like a poem to the heart and soul. I tell you something if you play this gorgeous game you never gonna forget this amazing adventure and characters my Game of the Year my Goat always this beautiful franchise 10/10.

    A beautiful game with a narrative just deep enough to be evocative without cramping the style of the slick 2D action platforming, all components of which are fleshed out and developed.
    Themes of family dealt with extremely well.
    The best game of 2020 so far.

    What can i say MASTERPIECE !!!! As was Ori 1. this ori2. is even more epic. Story oh my god, music, oh my god, level arts, OH MY GOD !!!. i just cannot remember if i had ever cry at the end of any game in my life.. 1000/10. Best game series ever created on any platform or any time.

    - The metroidvania elements in this game aren't very deep, I tried to look through every nook and cranny only to find life and mana powerups, and money 95% of the time. It all ties back to the so-so section... the shards was a wasted opportunity, rarely there, and not very interesting.

    Will of the wisps is an amazing linear experience, with improved combat, emotional story, and pretty good platforming. The side content and metroidvania elements, however was underwhelming. I wouldn't try to 100% the game on your first playthrough, because I think I would've enjoyed this game more if I hadn't tried to look for everything.    … Expand

    2015’s “Ori and the Blind Forest” was one of the few games that made me want to get an Xbox One. I’ve often played more of Nintendo and Sony’s first-party titles, and it always seemed like Xbox lagged behind them in terms of exclusives. The first “Ori” title, though, grabbed my attention early and often, and after playing it, it quickly became one of my favorite games. The game grabbed me2015’s “Ori and the Blind Forest” was one of the few games that made me want to get an Xbox One. I’ve often played more of Nintendo and Sony’s first-party titles, and it always seemed like Xbox lagged behind them in terms of exclusives. The first “Ori” title, though, grabbed my attention early and often, and after playing it, it quickly became one of my favorite games. The game grabbed me right from the start and never let me go, and it was a phenomenal journey that, in a lot of ways, helped me to appreciate 2D platformers a bit more than I had in the past. So, when “Ori and the Will of the Wisps” was announced, I was unbelievably hyped. In a lot of ways, with the Xbox Series X coming soon, and a lack of strong Xbox One exclusives this year, I sort of treated this new “Ori” sequel as something of a “swan song” for the Xbox One. Yes, I’m aware that “Bleeding Edge” came after, but given that the game received mixed reception (and didn’t carry much of my interest anyway), and that “Halo Infinite” being more touted as a Series X game, I felt that “Ori” was the more appropriate “swan song” for the Xbox One for me. Largely because…well, the game is pretty damn fantastic!
    “Ori and the Will of the Wisps” takes what made the first game great, and builds on it to create an even better experience. The visuals, as you would expect, are stunning, and the art style remains a wonder to behold. So much love went into crafting this game’s design, and the end result is some of the Xbox One’s best graphics, I would say. In terms of gameplay, “Ori” continues to hit the mark. The original game already had fantastic platforming, and this game continues to have that, while also making great improvements to the combat. The bevy of options and weapons Ori has at his disposal are awesome, and the depth in regards to combat is pretty amazing, too. As always, the incredible environments in the game make way for plenty of exploration, as the overall level design is so well-crafted that you won’t mind getting lost in the game’s world. The game is regularly heart-pounding, the chase sequences are tensing, and even on the lower difficulties, the game once again provides plenty of challenge without falling into the “fake difficulty” boat. The soundtrack is light and incredible, and in terms of storytelling, “Ori” once again hits the mark with a beautiful, emotional story that, once again, nearly drove me to tears. The story features a well-rounded cast of characters and plenty of moments that are sad yet extremely powerful.
    I can’t really say that I have too many problems with this game. I know a number of reviews have mentioned technical problems, and while there may have been a few minor stutters before cutscenes, I didn’t notice too many, and I don’t think anything really impeded with my enjoyment of the game. Even when I would get a bit lost in the game’s world, finding the answers proved to be very rewarding, and the overall design didn’t feel flawed as a result.
    I mentioned in my old review that “Ori and the Blind Forest” was one of the best 2D platformers I had ever played. I can safely say that “Ori and the Will of the Wisps” succeeds in the very difficult task of not only living up to that game, but also surpassing it. I’m not sure if Moon Studios will continue in the “Ori” universe from here, but if they don’t, I can say that they have created a truly phenomenal farewell to Ori’s world. Whether or not they continue on with “Ori” games, Moon Studios is a developer to keep an eye on, because they’ve proved with these games that they have something really special. And with the Xbox One in its final months, whatever polarizing thoughts there might be on the console when we look back on it retrospectively, it’s great to see that “Ori and the Will of the Wisps” help it to end its life on a high note. If you haven’t played this yet, please…do yourself a favor. It’s really an incredible game.

    Ori and the Will of the Wisps may not feel as vital as the original did when it debuted, but fans of the genre would be foolish to overlook the sequel. Its visual style, themes, and engrossing score distinguish it from others in its space. Its fluid sense of movement and fast-paced combat make it a blast to play, with plenty of hidden challenges to uncover. Ori and the Will of the Wisps will please fans of the original and anyone looking for an engrossing adventure steeped in natural mystery and wonder.

    I actually haven’t played the first Ori so I can’t compare the two nor do I have a bias based on how much I enjoyed the previous installment. I would wait for some patches before attempting this game. It’s excellent, there’s no doubt about it, but when things don’t work you become robbed of the experience. Still, it’s better than most platformers out there, even with the issues.

    Ori and the Will of the Wisps is everything you could want from a sequel to Ori and the Blind Forest. It isn’t a revolutionary new step forward for the series by any means, but it does an excellent job of building upon all the core concepts that made Ori and the Blind Forest so fantastic, whilst also adding enough new features to justify its title as a sequel, rather than an additional DLC expansion. If you haven’t played through Ori and the Blind Forest (you should), Ori and the Will of the Wisps is worth jumping into regardless, as it polishes the Ori formula to a shine and is an incredible experience in its own right.
