Overall, it’s hard to find any issues that can’t be overcome when it comes to calling NBA2K15 a complete package.

NBA 2K15 manages once again to keep up with its already high standards, with further improvements and refinements and some welcome new features like the facial scan and pre-match shows. A must have game for any basketball lover.

2K Sports took significant technical strides with last year’s NBA release, but it’s the reinvented movement system and improved physics that make 2K15 such a success.

The absolute best part of the game, though, is the soundtrack. Hand picked by Pharrell Williams, the list surprisingly contains a large number of tracks produced with beats by Pharrell. If anything’s gonna make you a baller, Public Enemy followed by Missy Elliot and then Busta Rhymes will make you a baller. The only thing missing is the Monstars.

As smart and slick as fans expect. [Issue#118, p.82]

The on-court action has been refined and MyCareer is arguably better than ever, making NBA 2K15 another fine basketball game. It's just a shame that the online facet of the game is so poor. Despite this, NBA 2K15 is still well worth checking out.

When it works, NBA 2K15 offers a triple double worth of compelling content, from its accessible but deep gameplay to the deep MyGM and dramatic MyCareer modes. Unfortunately, the connectivity issues continue to box out players from its engaging experiences.

Like a great player toughing it out through an injury, NBA 2K15 is still strong despite crippling server problems.

One of the best sports franchises just got... exactly the same. [Xmas 2014, p.85]

All the players (even the bench and rookies) and coaches are perfectly done. No more slacking on the guys nobody knows. They even touched up the old school teams. This is by far the best basketball experience in console history. Full Review »

    Pros:

-The graphics are simply amazing. My brother walked into the living room while I was playing and thought it was a real NBA pre-season game. The textures are high definition and the animations are fluid and realistic.

-It's a very good simulation on the harder difficulty settings. Trying to force plays against the AI inevitably ends up working out just like it would in a real NBA game.

-You can skip through MyCareer cut scenes after the first play through. I only played the PC version last year (which had a stripped down version of MyCareer mode), but it was definitely aggravating having to sit through stupid interviews after every game.

    Cons

-The server connectivity sucks. In the first place, why the hell do I have to be connected to the network just to upgrade my player in MyCareer? And on top of that, I can't even spend my VC 60% of the time because it can't connect. Talk about annoying. I'm sure the connectivity issues will be hammered out in time, but it shouldn't even be necessary in the first place.

-The lack of customization options in MyCareer is disappointing. No way to edit my starting stats? Seriously? Maybe I'm just missing something, but that's pretty annoying. Also, as usual, your player starts out rated way too low. It's virtually impossible to do anything at the higher difficulties when your guy can barely make a layup. A guy this bad wouldn't make the high school JV team, much less an NBA squad. I feel like the developers do this on purpose to try to make you buy VC. Lame.

Overall, I have to say that this is easily the best game of the NBA 2K series so far. I only played the PC version last year, so I don't know how much this is improved over last year's console versions, but it's definitely a worthwhile upgrade from the PC.

Cannot even upgrade my player because you need the servers for that. Basically this is the exact same game from last year with a roster update and by the same I also mean the exact same servers. Impossible to play anything online. The "face-scan" concept is cool, if it worked. Most people report coming out looking like mutants or aliens. It's still a good game, but 2k needs to stop being rewarded when you cannot even play the game half of the time. Full Review »
