NASCAR Heat Evolution is the only dedicated NASCAR show in town on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but it’s sadly beaten in terms of depth and realism by games that were released over a decade ago.

NASCAR Heat Evolution is a like a massive wreck that happened on the track, the result being crushed metal and fiberglass that smashed 180 mph into the wall, and you get to play the contents that the dev-team threw into the game from that gnarly mess.

When it wasn't crashing it had some fun moments. If you are interested in a realistic sim, this game isn't for you, but compared to the last NASCAR entry, at least this one is somewhat playable. The graphics aren't great, and the frame rate is pretty bad at times. I usually like to do in-car camera, but frame rate is so bad, I had to switch to full car view. The biggest gripe I have with the game is the complete lack of options. This is bare bones. If you are going to make a game with dated graphics at least give us depth of option. Absolutely no commentary, aside from a brief 5-10 second intro of each track. You'll get sick of the spotter after the first few laps of your first race. The online play was fun when I finally found a game of like-minded players, who weren't just trying to wreck other drivers, or turn around and drive backwards around the track. Hopefully they'll fix this up a bit, and maybe add some new features going forward. I would definitely wait until this game price drops. This is not a $60 game. Expand

I'll throw some positives out there because there are a few. First off it looks nice. The graphics are a major upgrade compared to any other NASCAR game. Secondly, they upgraded the sound from the early videos of the game. The cars do sound better than they did in 2002 as they should. Ok, now for a list of complaints. There is no pre-race presentation, nothing at all. The race just begins as it did in Nascar Heat 2002. There is only 3 camera angles to choose from, the default angle for me is just too low. An option for a raised camera would be great so I could see how close my nose is to the car in front. Qualifying hasn't changed at all. The qualifying is automatically set at quick qualifying, previously I had said there was no authentic timed qualifying, there is. There's no local multiplayer which seems to be the norm now and for some reason you can't just jump in and race a full season. You have to unlock the tracks which makes NO sense. Enjoy grinding XP on Daytona, Dover, and Atlanta for a bit until you can get enough XP to race more tracks. This seriously made no sense to me. What other sports game would do that? If you're not a fan of the Gibbs cars, you're not going to enjoy the loading screens as it's all Toyota drivers featured. The music is a generic country/rock mix, but that's to be expected. Anyway, it's nice to see a NASCAR game on a current gen console. I understand they have to begin somewhere, N.H.E. has been a let down but it's not the worst. If you're like me and have been itching to play a full NASCAR game on a home console pick it up, if you're a casual race fan this isn't your game. At least next year can only be better Expand

Online is completely horrible. Short track racing is impossible, people just wall ride and intentionally wreck and then drive backwards. No cautions [which is probably good, theres a wreck 5 seconds into green flag] and the car is extremely touchy.

You can not look around your car when driving. You only get HOOD, Cockpit [which doesn't have MPH], and 3rd person. Your spotter says "car outside" and thats it... theres no "still there, still there, okay clear."

This game honestly feels like an XBOX 360 or PS2 game. The smoke is extremely cartoonish and overused. The presentation of this game is really horrible for how much it is hyped up.

Also, Gamestop is only giving $20 trade in credit and it hasn't even been 24 hours..

Its my fault though, after NASCAR the Game, I should never have pre-ordered another NASCAR game.

DO NOT spend money on this game. Graphics are unbearable and the frame rate is atrocious. game keeps crashing midway through race. Very little customization options and a horrible career mode. Also there is no split screen multiplayer and You have to unlock the majority of the Tracks. Physics are unrealistic and it feels like an arcade game. The physics of the game are terrible. You can't even drive in a straight line, especially on online gameplay. The graphics look like they're from a 2005 NASCAR game on the original Xbox or PS2. There's nothing to prevent people from ruining races by driving backwards or wrecking people on purpose. There isn't even a map in the corner to show you where you're at on the track or where other cars are?! That's one of the basic components of a racing game. How can you release a game like this on a next gen console? Actually, how can even release this game at all?! Major disappointment and the last time I ever purchase a game from whoever made it. Ever person that purchased this game should be given a full refund because now I'm stuck with a game that I can't even play. Expand
