Oct 1, 2019There is very little I can say negatively about NASCAR Heat 4. Visually, the way the game deals with shadows under the cars doesn’t do the gorgeous lighting effects of racing at night justice. Track surfaces seem a little dull in comparison to the dirt tracks. The dirt tracks seem to have more luster and reflect light better than the tarmac. For some it may just feel like an update to NASCAR Heat 3 and that’s fair. But if you’ve not played previous iterations then NASCAR Heat 4 is definitely the pinnacle of virtual stockcar racing.

Sep 18, 2019NASCAR Heat 4 is, without a doubt, the best NASCAR racing game yet, but there’s still some room for improvement. Many will find its online features lacking; career mode still isn’t what you’d call “deep”; and crashes remain unspectacular. Still, the whole experience is engaging enough to make it worthwhile. There is pleasure to be found in managing your team and coming out on top, which means you’ll find yourself returning to NASCAR Heat 4 until next year’s inevitable follow-up.

Sep 23, 2019A good and satisfying racing game, with an unusual depth level for a non-AAA racing game. Despite some minor flaws, it shines thanks to its rich customization, many game modes and a great cars and tires physics simulation.

Sep 17, 2019NASCAR Heat 4 is a surprisingly in-depth and layered racing game, featuring top-notch driving mechanics and amazing customization options. It’s a title that will likely capture the hearts and wallets of most NASCAR fans who have been waiting for the next generation of racing games centered on their particular brand of sport. Sure, it’s not perfect and the very same level of customization that makes it so compelling could be the very same thing that keeps casual players away. But there’s an admirable level of love and dedication racing through NASCAR Heat 4’s skeleton that it’s impossible not to recommend it.

Oct 14, 2019For a yearly release based on one of the biggest racing franchises, NASCAR Heat 4 on Xbox One doesn’t quite do it justice and even though those wanting a functional racer will find enough to be going on with, there aren’t many reasons to pick this over any other racer on the market.

Oct 10, 2019I have to be completely honest, I spent 98% of my time with Career Mode. I enjoy Career Mode the most in the Nascar Heat series and feel that overall it's generally a solid experience. This time around though, I'm not sold on the overall racing experience of Career Mode, which leaves me somewhat disappointed. My standards are usually very high for video games I know very well and I had high hopes that Nascar Heat 4 would be a great sequel. Now, I'm not even sure that this sequel is worth while knowing the main part of Nascar Heat 4 feels like an afterthought. I'm gonna go into the pit stop for a while and think about this.

Oct 3, 2019NH4 is still fun to play, but there just isn't enough newness here to make upgrading to this version a necessity. If you own, love and still play NH3, I'm not sure you'll find NH4 a must-have for your collection.
