This game seems to be getting a lot of negative reviews. I'm only 2 nights in, but I'm starting to feel like they're unwarranted. Firstly, the learning curve on this game is steep, the controls are different from your run of the mill racing games and the techniques are as well. I was immensely frustrated for the first hour or so until I spent a solid half hour on the first career track just doing laps and getting the feel of the game. That being said, its still incredibly challenging; one slight mistake and you're off course or on the ground. I'm all for shutting off rewind features on other games, but I'll use it on this one. The gameplay seems competitive even though the AI isn't top notch.

Visually, the game in my opinion looks really nice. There aren't many (any?) other MX offerings on the Xbox One and too be honest, this one is very par with offerings in the past. Graphics are nice, animations are stiff, and sound is pretty terrible. I usually prefer racing third person, but this game is much easier first person.

My only complaints thus far are the sound quality (the bikes just don't sound good), the rough animations, and the occasionally touchy handling.

Other than that, this game is exactly what I was expecting when I bought it which is good. Its not Forza Horizon level of quality, but I've never played a motocross game that comes close. This seems to be about as good as we get in this genre.

If you're needing a MX fix, pick it up now, it will scratch your itch quite well. If you're kinda just wanting to try it out, but have some other games to play now, wait until its about half price. It will be a much better value at that point. If you're just casually interested in motocross, this one likely isn't worth your money.

This year Milestone has improved a lot. MXGP2 is way bigger than before, with more tracks and modes. You can also customize your bike and improve the performance of your custom rider every race.

The sound, the graphics and some AI flaws mau be could disappoint, but once you get into it, the game is really fun and believable as an MX experience.

    Cons: graphics, load times, physics

Pros: the only option if you want to play a next gen motocross game. This game has moments, but overall is extremely frustrating and inconsistent. Drive off the track the slightest bit? Don't worry about correcting, the game will just set you back down in the middle of the track and let opponents pass you. I had some more fun once I learned how

I had some more fun once I learned how to manipulate and deal with all the weird glitches. Pretty much what you'd expect if you played Ride. Great idea, terrible execution. Here's hoping they get it right next time.

This game is NOT worth the buy. The physics are a joke, the turning is way too loose, unnecessary crashes, the graphics are ok, and the terrain is trash.

It’s difficult to recommend a title that serves only the most experienced racing fans, while alienating the rest of us. When coupled with a bland visual presentation and more than a few technical issues, players should to go back to older motocross titles to get their fix.

If you’re a super fan, then it’s an obvious purchase as you’ll get to race as your heroes, but strictly speaking as an objective view to the game as a whole, it’s hard to look beyond the glaring issues, even more so if you don't follow the sport.

MXGP2 takes itself way too seriously in a genre that doesn’t require it in games. The realism is commendable, but also limiting to the appeal of the game. The lackluster visuals and goofy animations also stand out, and the lack of anyone playing online completely nullifies the need for that mode.
