In Milo’s Quest, you play the always good boy Milo, because he’s a dog and dogs are
    Good boys brent.

That being said, this big ol pupper is wandering the park, having a good time when he comes across a cool looking bone which he wants because he’s a dog. Upon doing so, the Evil King Old Skull is free from his prison and it’s up to the goodest boy to stop him and his ghost army and he’s gonna do it because he’s a good boy yes he is, yes he is. Who’s a good boy? Who’s a good boy? ahem

Anyways this game plays like it’s own kind of adventure game and a bit like Super Box Land Demake as this title of course comes from the same developers. For the sake of this review I have chosen to do adventure and puzzles. The adventure mode works well enough mixed with the puzzles but can get repetitive, even with the added benefit of finding items hidden around the game such as health and stamina upgrades and more bones. There are other special items in the game that you can find but they don’t really add too much to the gameplay. One other issue you may have is the combat. I find myself often attacking ghosts And hurting myself in the process due to mainly getting them on the wall and still touching their sprite does it mean taking damage. This is kind of caused a couple of unnecessary deaths which could be avoided if I had the option to back up after a tackle.

On another note, I have a bit of good news for you in the case that you didn’t like SBLD or wanted exclusively more of it and it’s that this game has a feature I kinda wish all games had in some way and it’s that you can chose the game mode. What I mean by that is that you can make it so the game is exclusively all puzzles or remove them entirely in favor of an adventure game and I honestly really appreciate that so round of applause for lightUP for implementing that. That’s really good on their part.

Lastly the achievements are pretty easy to get without a guide so I’ll just leave it at that. Easy 1-2 hrs tops.

    Pros:
The option to remove/add puzzles and adventure modes
    I love pixel art
    Milo is a Good boy

    Cons:
    Can be repetitive

    Overall:8.0

I think this game an improvement for the development skills of lightUP and it does definitely show and I’m not just saying that because Milo is a good boy and will give me sad eyes if I give a bad rating. I can see they were doing more than the last project. I’d like to see more of them again.

The story is whimsical and sets the stage well. There are some solid elements included like keys, chests and collectible items. The puzzles and enemies are simple enough for the difficulty level that Milo’s Quest is aiming for. And its presentation is charming, vibrant and well done. This is certainly a game that the kids will enjoy. Unfortunately, there’s no real challenge for anyone else.

Milo’s Quest was a very short journey. As always with Ratalaika games, if you want an easy 1000g then pick this up. It’s cute and simple and has a different gimmick. There’s nothing stressful or annoying. It was a game that just worked, with simple puzzles and fun gameplay.
