Memories of Mars - This open world survival game, as the title suggests is set on Mars, in an abandoned mining town. Progession is slow, although not tedious and is enjoyable, after all, survival should be a marathon and not a 100m sprint. This will be achieved gradually by continious gathering of resources to ear. FLOPS, that will allow you to unlock new equipment for yourself or your base in the skill tree, with many different sub trees that focus on various aspects. From a visual standpoint the game looks really nice and with plenty of detail that will satisfy anyone. Menu navigation is pretty straight forward given most of your building is done from there that is a relief. I experienced a couple of minor bugs but nothing that will cause too much frustration just slight annoyances though I expect those to be addressed fairly quickly after release day (when we experienced them) The price of this game is also great, given you feel you get a lot for your money and for any survival fans this is a MUST have for fans of the genre on Xbox One. There’s nothing novel with this release; much like the droning ten-note melody that punctuates the menus and all too much of the gameplay, it’s repetitious and bland. Memories of Mars asks for too much player commitment and offers too little in return. Whatever this game does well is done better elsewhere.

For those who like to build stories of their own, want to work with interesting and unique structures, and are ready to use their mind to create new creative ideas, Memories of Mars certainly works. But on the flipside, it really could do with a few more markers and a ton more help for potential newbies struggling through the early stages.
