Easily the best LEGO Marvel game. LEGO marvel 2 is a headache generator, and LEGO marvel superheroes is older so it’s not as good. This game has plenty of area to explore, well designed levels, and is better than even LEGO Star Wars at reimagining the movies.

Since LEGO decided to use big hub worlds for their games, the levels have become less interesting. It's less about solving puzzles and using interesting gameplay mechanics but more about mashing the X button on everything.

On the upside, the hub worlds are amazing if you are a fan of Marvel and LEGO. It's fun to collect the golden bricks and characters in the city to unlock even more characters from your favorite Marvel movies or comics, although they could have been more creative with the characters instead of making a million versions of Iron Man.

I do recommend that you play this game with someone else in split screen, cause it makes the game so much more fun. Especially if you're playing with your child or your younger siblings. It's the perfect way to introduce them to the Marvel Universe.

I have played all the Lego games and this is a great one, It is funny and it is fun to play. I haven't experienced any glitches or problems and the controls seem to be working well. Best Lego game since Batman 2.

This is probably the worst of the LEGO lot. Not because it is broken but because they keep cramming fluff in. I'm so sick of the need to create more and more "hub" worlds to fill with useless stuff just so you can say your game takes longer. The main levels gets shorter as the hub worlds get larger. Utterly boring and useless. Give me solid levels and dump the hubs altogether. This isThis is probably the worst of the LEGO lot. Not because it is broken but because they keep cramming fluff in. Utterly boring and useless. Give me solid levels and dump the hubs altogether. This is probably the first LEGO game I won't 100% because it is simply too boring running around the hub worlds doing the same crap over and over again.

I've never liked the talking they added to the games. It makes the LEGO experience less than what it should be. But reusing the movie voices in the game is horribly bad. It completely breaks the game flow and adds absolutely no value.

LEGO games are at their best when they focus on movies and not their own story line (Marvel Super Heroes I'm looking at you). That is the only thing that makes this better than the last LEGO Marvel game. But the stories are stitched together like an afterthought. There is no real consistency and the level design themselves are pretty bad. Beyond any other LEGO game this is all about fighting endless waves of enemies for the sole purpose of fighting endless waves of enemies. Part of the joy of LEGO was exploring the environment but that is now relegated to the hub worlds. In each level you rarely have time to explore as you continuely fight people. It is easiest to just avoid them until you cannot interact with the environment because the same buttons are used for everything.

There are bugs in the game including cameras that tend to go out of control. On Barton's Farm there is a gold brick inside a crate you have to open by doing various things. The problem is that when you get close to the crate the camera suddenly switches to the back side of the crate which happens to put you inside a barn. There is also issues with flying in general but also the fact that flying characters won't auto-land anymore.

Overall this game could have been fun except the recent changes to the LEGO formula that break the experience altogether. TT needs to go back to basics and what made the games fun. They remind me of the Assassin's Creed franchise. They should probably just shelf the brand for a while.

Spider-man, Ant Man, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and the X-men are just some of the many, many heroes that you won’t see in Lego: Marvel Avengers. Hello everyone Brandon here, and I dove into the six hour campaign that was Lego: Marvel Avengers. Now that is six hours of story not dicking around; just to be clear, but as a grown ass adult I don’t have time for collecting everything known to man. I’m getting ahead of myself. Let me dive into the story that makes this game…well exist really.

I would call it a cash grab, but there are no movies out for months. I want to say that this is them out of ideas. Lego Marvel Super Heroes was an amazing game with hour upon hours of content, and with an original story. This game however is just The Avenger movies in Lego form. Normally when they adapt these franchises into Lego games they have three movies so that they can have a nice 8-9 hour game. This has two movies and it feels drawn out because of it. If they would’ve done a phase 1 game and next year released a phase 2 game my ton would be very different. With just the Avengers you get limited heroes and only four villains which is a stretch honestly. Compared to Lego Marvel Super Heroes where they had every hero you could think of same with a rouges gallery of villains. This game is just lacking in comparison. I will say though playing through these movies is just a stupid amount of fun. Playing through the scenes and going, “oh I remember that line, or hey here comes when Hulk grabs Loki” is just a ton of fun. The downfall of this is about half way through the game you’ll be thinking on how bad you’d rather just watch the movies then play this game.

The game gets the feeling of the films down damn near exactly. They uses the same music cues when appropriate which just draws one. Of course being that it is a Lego game they have to make it cute and very, very family friendly. When showing how evil Loki is they have a scene where he is being just a dick to bunnies. They also have a very weird fascination with milkshakes. Seriously why milkshakes? Were they ever present in Avengers or even the MCU? I wouldn’t bring it up but this is a running gag that wasn’t funny or cute it was just off.

The gameplay is that of a Lego game. The new thing they added which was pretty cool was special moves that two characters can perform to kill off a group of enemies. An example of this is say you have Thor and Captain America when you press O Thor will electrify his hammer and his Cap’s shield creating an electric shockwave. These moves feel like they are right out of the movie and you get the team feel of the Avengers. The worst thing this game does is the filler gameplay. These are levels that only exist because they realized they only had a three hour game. They have a whole mission of when Agent Coulson talks to Tony Stark at the beginning of the Avengers. I seriously didn’t need a while 15 minutes of that one scene.

This game is a game that in this guy’s opinion did not need to exist at all. It is not a bad game it just feels like Travelers Tales isn’t really trying with this, or even putting that much into it. If this had more actual level like I said all of Phase 1 or something like that I would have a different tone. If you have a kid this is perfect because they will dive into this trying to 100% it. Plus most of their exposer is mostly the movies. As for you comic fans out there we have a better Lego game that is already out and cheaper. Honestly go buy Lego Marvel Super Heroes instead of this. I say barrow this game at best if you have a friend who has already purchased it, then just borrow it from them spend zero amount of money. I give this a generous 2.5/5.

The story is ripped of avengers age of Ultron so everything is very predictable unlike the last game where it was completely new and pretty good (don't judge me) I like the playable characters though but most Lego games get that right every time. The only reason for people to ever get this game is for collections there is no other reason to play this game in my opinion Expand

The 'Lego' games have always been a known quantity, but perhaps familiarity is beginning to breed contempt. 'Lego Marvel’s Avengers' wasn’t able to hold my attention as well as its forebears, even though it’s not a markedly different experience. Perhaps it’s time for the series to get a shot in the arm.

Just great action, a love of superhero cinema, and not one overpriced level pack in sight. [Apr 2016, p.82]

Ultimately, LEGO Marvel's Avengers delivers plenty of fan service, but it fails to top its predecessors. Instead of something new and innovative, LEGO Marvel's Avengers is a by-the-numbers sequel that scratches the LEGO itch but doesn't offer much more than that. It's also the easiest LEGO game yet.
