    For those seeking for a good Action RPG "Souls-like", Hellpoint delivers some satisfying gameplay alongside with a hard path to be followed in order to finish the game, a great endgame adding a good replay value in a sci-fi-horror world with non so inspired characters/enemies designs. Some good elements like the coop options are really enjoyable. However, PC version looks great for being the first game ever made from the studio, but sadly there are many and big differences between the PC and consoles ports, becoming a technical failure in a lot of ways and making the player struggles most of the time with these tech problems instead of enjoying the game.

    Hellpoint presents the same fundamentals that make the Souls-like genre special without trying to differentiate itself too much. What makes it fall behind are persistent and annoying performance and technical issues.

    Hellpoint on Xbox One has a lot of good points; certainly enough to recommend it. It’s dark, creepy and brutal - all the things you want from a Souls-type game. On the other hand, a seeming lack of polish does spoil the party somewhat, with camera issues killing me more often than the creatures, and a strange kind of weightlessness to the attacks present.

    If you’re a Souls fan, you’ll most likely enjoy Hellpoint, as long as you can handle its lack of polish and extremely janky platforming. It would have been easy to write off Hellpoint as a simple Souls knock off, and I almost did until I found a friend to play alongside. It’s unforgiving in every aspect and doesn’t hold your hand in any way, something Souls fans will appreciate. The co-op feature makes it much more accessible for casual fans of the genre like myself, but there’s enough content within to really test yourself with for those accustomed to difficult challenges.

    Hellpoint is a challenging and interesting RPG in a similar vein to Dark Souls, but maybe not as difficult. It is still unforgiving though, and best played with others to stand a real chance of progressing. The online multiplayer needs some work to iron out some issues, but if you like games that pose a real challenge then this could be for you. The fact that I couldn’t find any real strategy to take down difficult enemies made this hard for me to play by myself.

    A dark and terrifying adventure that many may go into, but only a few survive. The good is met with the bad, evening out the quality to being pretty decent. While the design of enemies and combat are great, the flaws (in my opinion) lay in the confusing areas and much too well-hidden secrets. The lack of resources that would allow you to travel hinders the overall experience. No map, limited fast travel, and zero direction on what to do next will be confusing enough to stop you from completing the game. Is it difficult? Yes, but not all in the sense of combat. It’s difficult to continue on with the journey because of hurdles that slow down the pacing. I thought leveling up was great and dying only made me try harder. However, doing simple tasks like dismantling items or picking your next weapon was a chore.

    Love, love, love this game. True there are some frustrating issues with frame rate and jumping that will have you tearing your hair out butLove, love, love this game. When the last achievement popped in this game I felt sad that it was over. Well done developers!!!!… Expand

This is one of my favorite junior soulslikes and I think the people who didn't like it aren't really looking for a Souls"like". I think maybe (just maybe, as I really don't get the complaints) they're either looking for something for children, or they're looking for an exact copy of dark Souls. I highly recommend it. It's got tons of interesting gameplay innovations, It's utterly beautiful, the level design is unlike any other Souls game, and it has a horror vibe that most other scifi Souls games don't even attempt. Controls are great, i just adore it. My only complaint is that the omnicube BADLY NEEDS A BETTER EXPLANATION FOR NOOBS. My first play through i was so frustrated with just equipping it and trying to make it work predictably. Maybe I merely missed something, cuz I couldn't even find one online. Which must mean others didn't have that problem. Anyway, killer game.… Expand

Very satisfying gameplay but a terrible console port full of bugs, freeze-screens and an unbelievable downgrade over PC's version that will mostly ruin the Hellpoint experience. These are the big issues from the game. But overall if you like the genre, it will NOT be a bad game at all.… Expand

    Bugs, bugs, bugs. Game ruining bugs. This is a very fun game and I had a blast - playing 7 hours solid with a friend. Started it up theBugs, bugs, bugs. Game ruining bugs. This is a very fun game and I had a blast - playing 7 hours solid with a friend. Started it up the next day and my stats had gone from level 61 to 21. My progression was there, but stats werent. Emailed Dev, no help, don't care. So after 3 days we did it again. Both got to level 101. Stopped for awhile, started again and POOF, back down to level 21, but this time, weapons gone, breaches gone, everything - gone. So I wasted nearly 20 hours of time playing a game that I can never play again. Save your money until the devs take this seriously and fix it. Right now it is useless.… Expand
