GRID the series is fairly new to me. Despite this though, I did have a lot of interest in the new GRID game because after doing some research it looked liked this game was going for both simulation and arcade style racing which is something that excited me almost immediately. Excitement is what this game delivers as well but I would recommend that you play it in short bursts only becauseGRID the series is fairly new to me. Despite this though, I did have a lot of interest in the new GRID game because after doing some research it looked liked this game was going for both simulation and arcade style racing which is something that excited me almost immediately. Excitement is what this game delivers as well but I would recommend that you play it in short bursts only because if you play it for long periods you will find quite a bit of repetitiveness because unlike other similar games there isn’t lots of varied content for you to work through. This doesn’t mean though that the game is bad and I’m sure fans of these types of games will definitely get something from GRID. It holds up really well actually and whilst racing in this game doesn’t always feel as realistic as it should it still remains fun for the most part. The AI for me also further enhanced the fun factor because they do things that you would expect them to do and this doesn’t change throughout your time with the game. Anybody can race as well because you can chop and change things to your heart’s content so if you want to be challenged then you can be but if you’re one of those who likes an easier time of things then you can also do that as well. As mentioned earlier there isn’t a huge amount of content at your disposal but is the content that is available fun and exciting? Well... Yes and no. On the one hand I felt that the career mode was pretty decent and with a nice amount of variety included this is definitely where I’ve spent most of my time when playing GRID. Unfortunately though I’ve found the online components in the game to be a little disappointing because there just isn’t enough to keep you occupied and for some reason it just fails to pack a punch when racing online. This is a shame as well because a lot of these types of games are ranked on their online capabilities but if I had to give a sole recommendation on online alone then GRID just wouldn’t cut it. I will say though that despite my issues with the online components they did at least hold up really well with no issues getting into races or staying in them. How is the presentation in the game and have the tracks and cars been done well?

Let me get this out of the way immediately it isn’t the best looking and sounding racing game you’ll ever see. In fact it probably isn’t in the top 5 but that isn’t too much of an issue because it still looks good with enough realism present when it comes to the different sounds a racing car makes. Speaking about the cars there’s a nice selection to choose from and you can definitely tell that a lot of thought and effort has gone into them so trying each car out is worthwhile. Trying out each track is worthwhile as well because they are very realistic and with the added bonus of a nice amount of atmosphere within them racing around them hardly ever gets dull. GRID is a decent addition into the racing genre because it gets the most important aspects right without being too spectacular in their approach. Yes it isn’t the best racing game of all time and it does have its limitations but if you’re one of those people who favours the arcade style when it comes to racing then you can do far worse than this game. Just don’t expect too much from the online components and you’ll be just fine.

Great racing game, with a lot of content, the thrill of racing a super car is there.

Good game, good graphics. Grid needs more tracks, a better adjustable FOV, an offline custom championship mode and a less agressive AI. Cars slide a little to much. I Hope a Grid 2021 with theses improvements.

It's not often a racing game comes along and hits the sweet spot between simulation and arcade, and yet that is exactly the balance that the developer haσ hit with GRID. Fantastic, speedy chaotic, gameplay, supported by some great visual and sound design, giving racing fans of all levels and abilities another great title this year worth diving into with gusto. Totally recommended to genre aficionados, especially after the inevitable split-screen update.

It does a lot of things very well, but it’s hard not to feel like it’s missing a spark, a wow factor or some sort of true personality. As it stands, I don’t see it being something that people will continually go back to, despite its quality mechanics and beautiful visuals. It’s simply a bit too sterile. That doesn’t mean that it isn’t fun while it lasts, though, or that it isn't rather well made.

Grid is a decent reboot. Sure, it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles that some may expect and the number of tracks are a bit lackluster, but what it is missing is made up for with great handling cars and a fun race gameplay. People looking for a good racer have found one here even with the issues it may have.
