It’s not perfect, but it’s not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination, and with a tutorial that is helpful enough to get a genre noob fully up to scratch with the basics, Golem Gates is possibly one of the more accessible card based strategy titles on the market.

Sometimes games fail because they take a little too many genres and mix them together at the same time. On occasion a game gets this right and when that happens it makes for fantastic gameplay. Golem Gates is one of those games that gets it right and the amount of depth within the gameplay makes you want continue playing until you conquer the level at hand. You won’t get bored with Golem Gates content as the game offers a great deal and no matter how you approach Golem Gates it remains fun when played on your own, or with a friend. The main object of Golem Gates is strategy and I’m pleased to say that they’ve implemented these elements extremely well and when in full flow these elements combine with the card battle aspects extremely well. The eve and flow of the visual and sound design are top notch up there with the best visuals that I’ve seen in a game of its kind. In terms of problems Golem Gates doesn’t have many, and if there was a little more variety within the missions then there wouldn’t be really much wrong at all. Golem Gates is without a doubt one of the most enjoyable games I’ve ever played in its genre because there’s plenty of variety within the content and plenty of replay ability as well. If you only have a slight interest in this genre then I recommend that you give Golem Gates a buy because it really is a well put together game. Thanks to Digerati for a worthy addition to the Xbox One family of consoles. Expand
