Amazing gameplay and level design. Difficult game with many enemies. I completed the game 3 times, and never get bored.

Excessive difficulty makes the experience frustrating, even with the many checkpoints. Having to jump between several, double-shielded enemies means that one stray bullet will often get you even if you keep moving and make no obvious mistakes. Vertical surfaces are often placed at near 180 degrees, so that it’s extremely difficult to jump the right way to stay in the air, especially since controls are not precise enough. Even very small areas may take one hour to traverse and cause you to die dozens of times. Getting bored.
At times the game does shine and shows you what it could have been, but sadistic difficulty spikes are there to punish the player. Controlling jumps is almost impossible, so when you have a corridor with extremely distant side walls that you can only reach by perfect direction and timing as it is, and the designers also put in electrified surfaces that can only be deactivated by hitting them while you jump, controlling both aim and direction independently, since they’ll activate again in three seconds, it becomes an exercise in pure frustration. With a mouse, maybe it would be possible, but with a controller it’s simply too much, instant reload or not.

The game is pretty good for what it tries to do: a first-person platformer. However it is in essence an one-trick pony so it is extremely subjective if you're gonna like it. It immediately throws you into its simple action which will be obviously loved by many but for the rest of us the game can feel like an unnecessary chore.

The game most boring i’ve play. One trash, so repetitive that cause give headache. A bad gameplay if limit only just jump platform or wall and practically with the same enemies.

This game is so much fun for its £20 price tag and you get way more than what you payed for. Story was okay, I feel like no one is really here for the story although it was quite good, I won't say much about it.
Mission layout felt different every single time so going through an area of enemies did not feel repetitive or boring, *cough* doom *cough*. Learning how to get through each area, like I said before, is so much fun, making it different from mindless video games where you just walk through killing enemies and don't pay any attention to your environment.

Now onto somethings I didn't like....
Performance of the game on my few years old now Xbox One felt good, it was not glitchy or slow until I reached a certain area in the game. For some weird reason the frame rate kept dropping and stuttering, normally I would not think about it much but it kept causing me to die even in a boss fight. One frame I would be running normally, suddenly for the next 2 frames the game basically freezes, next frame I'm dead. I have no idea why this happened and not even sure if it was my frame rate as it felt more like lag.
Boss fights were very "meh", they were not as deep or as thought-provoking as the main fighting areas in most of the game so they did not feel very memorable.
I also did not feel like I could really play the game again for the collectibles but I guess we will have to see.
Other than that I do really suggest getting this game, its cheap, longer and more fun than most triple A titles these days *another cough* Miles Morales.

Climb Dharma Tower, humanity’s last shelter after a world ending cataclysm. Make your way up from the bottom to the top, confront the tyrannical Keymaster, and take your sweet revenge. Ghostunner absolutely put me through my strides and tested the limits of my willpower, but the joy of victory was worth it all in the end in this high paced sci-fi ninja rompfest. The only main weapon in Ghostrunner is a sword, though your speed and mobility options are weapons themselves within the confines of the experience. The Ghostrunner can run along walls, slide down slopes with great speed, and also utilize a quick dash that can be held down to slow down time and alter the direction of his momentum in mid-air. This is a game that your movement and a single weapon create an amazing experience with it’s simple but extreme fun. Ghostrunner is an amazing game and the developers really did a great job on bringing joy to the player on each level of the game and every minute of gameplay I was so satisfied with Ghostrunner, we need more games like this on the Xbox. It’s always a pleasant surprise when we find games well priced and incredibly fun. Expand

Game has an amazing gameplay and feel of flow, super cool cyberpunk setting, quite interesting story and even some good puzzles.

It was on level 5, where vents just won't turn on. I tried to reboot game, replay level, reinstall game, nothing helped, so I bought it on PC, where I encountered another bug. One enemy just disappeared and I wasn't able to open door because of it, but this time I was able to fix it by restarting level.
AND not only that, there are a lot of visual bugs on Xbox One X, like not loading textures, rainbow lines on edges of screen, some strange lights on screen, random changes of level lighting to green and blue.
I do not recommend to play this game until bugs will be resolved (if they will at all).

The best game of the year so far.
If you like Parkour-like games (Mirror's Edge, Dying Light), and you like cyberpunk style this game is for you.
When you mix powerful electronic music, fast-paced action, great graphics, and design then you have a great hit. You die A LOT. But it is different than the Souls series. In Souls after death, you usually play some time to the next death. In

You die A LOT. But it is different than the Souls series. In Souls after death, you usually play some time to the next death. In Ghostrunner when you die you go backward just a few seconds, and repeating exactly the same sequence over and over again is frustrating...
... at the beginning, because after a few levels, it becomes challenging...
... and after some more time game becomes extreme satisfying!

And the thing I have found after hours of playtime, amongst all of the above, the game is very relaxing. If you get into the flow it doesn't matter if you die or not. Smooth, fast, and gore actions construct a lot of calm inside you. And that's why it is worth to buy.

    Pros:
    - Action, action, and action!
    - Music
    - Graphics
    - Cyberpunk Design

    Cons:
    - Plot is in the background
    - One music track for one level. If you are stuck, the tune gets boring.
    - "Special" platforming levels are unnecessary.
    - When you quit the game, you lost your checkpoints and have to start the level again.

Ghostrunner, on one hand its a masterful creation full of intense and unforgiving fast paced parkouring and stylishly brutal katana action. Its still a fairly short and linear game with kinda barebones story but it has an amazing sense of style and flair, responsive inputs, superb controls and some sick electronic dubstep music. Perfect game for speed runners. Once mastered you will be effortlessly flowing your way through wall running, jumping, dodging and slaying enemies. Satisfying combat, extreme difficulty that is let down by the god awful console versions that not even a rumored patch could fix. Watch my full review here: https://youtu.be/OU3xX0c01Yw Expand

Amazing cyberpunk vibe and climate. I';ve never encounter machanics that are bread and butter in this game. Music is one of the best and it's perfect match for this game.

Ghostrunner makes us run and jump at high speed in a cyberpunk city, while avoiding enemy bullets and delivering mortal blows with our katana. It's got great environments and a satisfying overall design, but it fails in delivering the precision in movements and jumps this kind of game would need, ending up in a sometimes frustrating experience. Except for this, it's definitely a fascinating game.

Ghostrunner is a game of pain and suffering. Repetition sets in. It never deterred me from hitting continue though. This marks a nice balance of forcing players to master their combat, while also intriguing them to keep going. I absolutely had a blast and cannot wait to see the upgrades on next-gen consoles. This is not a game to sleep on, just be aware it may cause nightmares.

The blistering fast-paced action of Ghostrunner will almost certainly appeal to gamers looking for a fresh take on the first person platformer. However, the brutal difficulty can make sticking with it after dozens of deaths a tough pill to swallow.
