A very solid game that fullfills everything the Fanbase wantet from a new installment! Very deep and well put Story, best generation graphics ever seen on a Platform and the beloved and solid gameplay that gears is known for but with more fine tuning behind it to make it even more fluid an buttery smooth when playing!

Tecnicamente es abrumador, jugablemente es divertidisimo. La mayor produccion de este tipo que he visto

Is the best good looking game of this generation.
All Gears games have great mechanics and action, but in this 5th episode, there is more light effects, more particles, more action...

I’ve played all the Gears games and this one fell short. The campaign felt lacking in substance and I think they could’ve made a better story, I never felt engage and many of the battles felt repetitive and boring, even the battle with the final boss was so disappointing that when it ended I was like, that’s it? The competitive mode it’s the same as the previous game, it’s just great, the maps tho, they feel so constrained, I prefer the ones that have more open spaces and gives you more ground to cover. It’s an ok game, but not the amazingness I was expecting.

this video game was beautiful. the game design very nice and well managed to make you immerse in various situations. the very beautiful story, however, presents some moments of death. precisely for this small defect the game does not take 100 but I very willingly give it a 90.

Pros: Improved fresh campaign compared to Gears 4. A few bugs though.
Cons: I've played every Gears game. And this game has made me decide I will instead be getting a PS5 next generation. Rod and Phil you guys are not smart and are failing at producing AAA must have 1st party games completely. This game is still just more corporate microtransaction bullsh*t. Nobody should buy this game.

Rod and Phil you guys are not smart and are failing at producing AAA must have 1st party games completely. This game is still just more corporate microtransaction bullsh*t. Nobody should buy this game. The progression system just like with Gears 4 is trash and not fun. TC and Rod lied to everybody that this game would be players first and it is 100% not. Fun should always be first but Microsoft continues to not understand that as a company. Gears 3 continues to be a gold standard Microsoft fails to reach. When a progression system pushes you hard to not enjoy the game or not make the best play in a match but instead try to achieve a certain tasks in each multiplayer session you have f*cked the multiplayer. When a progression system constantly demands you play as characters you don't like or want to you have f*cked the multiplayer. Also instead of Gears 4s grindy lootbox microtrasaction system they've replaced it with a convoluted microtransaction mess with nothing of value to unlock and with no reasonable or fun way to progress toward unlocking anything. The only way to unlock anything of value will cost you at least an extremely excessive extra $40, and even that content is time limited... absolutely shameful. They clearly marketed this game and redesigned the microtrasaction system to confuse customers and make it difficult for reviewers to warn players all with the main goal to limit outrage during launch. This is unfriendly and unethical behavior. Like with Gears 4 this games player base will die massively as players are left with again a trash progression system that is not centered around FUN and the multiplayer gameplay itself. Under no circumstance should you trust TC and Rod again and buy Gears 6 in the future. Gears of War is now a dead franchise that lies and manipulates you. Its not surprising at all now that they made Gears 5 crossplatform with PC since they basically killed the franchises playerbase with 4s grindy lootbox microtransactions system. But after this I don't know what TC will do to trick players to buy 6. I believe this game just spent the last bit of trust players had with TC and Rod. For me this game was going to decide if I switched to PlayStation for next gen and this game has decided it for me Microsoft is not serious about creating Fun AAA games. Microsoft Xbox is not PlayStation and they are certainly not a Nintendo. Microsoft and TC have taken yet again another stupid pointless approach to gaming that destroys player trust. For many this was Microsofts last chance. This game just won PlayStation 5 the gen console war.

Gears 5 is not perfect but it is still good more improve than 4 however there are some issues with the game that I need to personally need to address.

    1. Microtransactions - We have seen a lot of games with microtransactions and there is no surprise that Microsoft would add them into gears. For me personally I find this un acceptable, they basically copy the layout of the store and the purchase of cosmetics off a fornite and it is silly for the coalition to do that. Microtransactions should not be in the game, battle pass I will accept but the Microtransactions that has been inputted on this game is just silly.

    2. Part open world - the campaign was better than 4 do not get me wrong, however there was no need to go part open world on ACT 2 and 3 for this game, if they kept it as it was and improve on the excitement mission like gears 3 has, it would be a really good experience for this franchise. Some people that are new to the game might skip these side locations and focus on the story. They should have expanded more. Also is it wired that ACT 4 has only got two chapters and there is no ACT 5 at all (same as Gears 4)

    3. Multiplayer - This is my final point and that is the multiplayer, I have played this mode a few days and I think the skill match making on this game is not good and the amount of people get killed by pro that jump cover to cover to kill the new players is not balanced. I think they need to improve on the Multiplayer in my opinion to make it a fare system. (like gears 2 and 4)

Overall the Horde mode is good apart from the 1 character limitation and the new escape mode is good as well. The three points I have made at the top is what let the game down a it but I gave this a 8/10 because I think it is still a good game. I will admit I am a gears fan but I would not say it is the work gears game, not by a long shot. Gears 5 would be at the top 3 best gears game, then 2 being a number 2 and 3 at the top. I hope the coalition will listen to some feed back and improve on this to make gears 6 a good experience.

Honest to God, I was just about to sell my Xbox, because the PS4 was just too good in itself (not mentioning the Game Pass, which in theory sounds great, but it just makes you have a huge library of unfinished games) - but this saved my console for another month or two. It looks great, it sounds great, it plays great and finally for the xbox one exclusives it has a story as well...

It's a decent game, but I can't help but to give it a middling review because of the botched launch. So many errors, bugs, and headaches. I've lost progress on levels multiple times because of glitches, making me not even want to play it any more. Bought the special version just to realize that the extra days of play was more of a server test, a la Anthem. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have been playing Gears since the first one came out back in 2006 so I know what to pretty much expect of the game. I have nothing bad to say about the campaign, as always. Beautiful graphics, great storyline and above all the gameplay itself was smooth (Xbox One). Oh man, those graphics... I already said beautiful graphics but I have to repeat myself because that's how great they were. The facial animations, the weapons, even the voice acting was perfect. Music to my ears. I won't lie, I died, A LOT, but granted I played on insane as always, since I'm a bit insane myself. The game itself has a long campaign, which I love, took me about 31 hours. Who doesn't love a game with a long storyline? Spoiler alert, the ending was phenomenal. It's pretty much all of Gears in a nutshell. I was sitting like a moron in front of my screen with my jaw hanging to the floor. Just an amazing experience. Even though I have mostly positive things to say about GOW 5, of course it comes with its negatives. I can't say there's any game, at least for me that doesn't come with SOME downfalls. The biggest nuisance in this game for me was the crashing. The game froze up, a lot. I would have to resort to dropping a grenade on myself so I can pretty much die and restart from my last save in order to correct the issue. Let's talk multiplayer: Horde (YAY), versus mode or escape. Horde is even more badass then it's ever been. Since each player brings something different to the table, it just makes wave after wave more enjoyable and more intense. I'm ashamed to say I only reached save 38. As a veteran of the game, how dare I! But just comes to show how much they amped up the difficulty. Loved it! Now, when it comes to the matchmaking, it's 50/50 here. I don't believe the system always made the best matchmaking setups, due to the fact it was rarely balanced, at least in my experience. Given that though, it's by far the best multiplayer they've achieved yet. Entering the Escape maps which seemed to be highly unpredictable was a rush and the new Arcade versus was just beautiful chaos. I was constantly experiencing tachycardia while playing Arcade in the most amazing way ever. Kept me constantly on my tippy toes. Piece of advice to my fellow female gamer, don't play this in heels like I did at one point. Yes, I was playing in heels, and yes I stood up often due to my adrenaline and YES, I did fall once, maybe twice? Okay... maybe more than twice. Long story short, if you're a Gears fan from the beginning or you're just starting out the series for the first time, you will 100% enjoy about every aspect of the game. Everything from the amazing graphics, great storyline and smooth gameplay to the multiplayer modes and even those annoying little campers that hide in one spot during matchmaking that makes you want to pull your hair out or in my case use words I didn't know existed or throw a controller or two against the wall (and maybe one of my heels too, maybe...) Gears 5 is an odd thing; it's neither a grand leap forwards, nor a complete rehash of what came before, and therefore sits somewhere in the middle of the two. On the whole, the improvements do outweigh the negatives (the non-linear approach to campaign levels and the small changes to horde mode being some of the most notable), and while The Coalition still has some work to do to really make the series its own, this is a far bolder and more varied approach the relatively safe Gears 4. If you love shooters and you want a good place to jump back into the series, this is perfect place to work the rust out of your lancer.

Gears 5 offers a solid portion of brutal action with several refreshing new things. If you have intentionally avoided games from this series, the fifth sequel probably won´t change your mind, but if you are looking for a quality action game and you are still a fan of multiplayer, try it. Gears 5 proposes a breathtaking solo campaign and a generous array of multiplayer modes. Even if the recipe remains classic, we really want to go through with it. The characters are rather well written, the environments are often spectacular, and Jack the robot adds some salt to the gameplay. A visual feast and glorious action game that perfectly demonstrate Xbox One X's true power.
