    Great story. Amazing graphics. Open world bits are fun to explore. Definitely a return to form for the gears series.

    Anyone giving this game an 8 or above is either purposely shilling or are blinded by rose-tinted glasses. The sheer amount of bugs in the game warrant significant score decreases alone. Since launch I have been unable to complete a full Escape or multiplayer match without being booted from the game due to the shoddy online service being woefully unprepared for the game's (staggered!)Anyone giving this game an 8 or above is either purposely shilling or are blinded by rose-tinted glasses. The sheer amount of bugs in the game warrant significant score decreases alone. Since launch I have been unable to complete a full Escape or multiplayer match without being booted from the game due to the shoddy online service being woefully unprepared for the game's (staggered!) launch. The power taps in Horde mode often drop under textures making them impossible to interact with -- the problem sometimes corrects itself when they're destroyed and can be respawned. The same thing happens with some of the fortification textures. Campaign is not free from bugs either, from the infinite load bug (which requires a full console reset to fix) to the X interact not functioning bug.

    That's before getting into the lackluster story and so-so gameplay that's more schizophrenic than ever. The Coalition couldn't decide whether they wanted a linear cover shooter (which is what made Gears popular in the first place) or an open world collect-a-thon, so they tried to incorporate both. Poorly. Cross-play multiplayer between console and PC in Gears 4 was a crapfest, so it comes as no surprise that all of the same issues (and more) exist this time around as well.

    Sure, it's still decent, even with the political pandering being wielded like a bludgeon by the story writers, but is it on the same level as the original three? Not even close.    … Expand

    Gráficos impecáveis, história aprofundada e a presença de um modo multiplayer balanceado divertido e que roda a 60 quadros por segundo, gears 5 é um jogo sensacional e tem muito potencial no mundo dos e-sports.
    É impressionante o quanto os sonystas estão tentando derrubar o game apenas por ser um exclusivo da Microsoft

    Absolutely stunning game and achievement for the Coalition.
    Gears5 catapults this studio into god-tier developers and sets the bar very high for all the other Xbox Studios.
    It is, in my opinion, a system seller, it's that good......10/10

    El mejor gears de todos, las misiones son entretenidas y las nuevas adiciones funcionan muy bien como la de mejorar a Jack la historia es de 10 y te deja con un buen sabor de boca Ya lo dije pero es el mejor gears de todos .

    I finished the Gears 5 campaign last night. I had an absolute blast playing through this game. Very surprised as I am not a major Gears of War fan overall.

    I recently played through Gears 4 and enjoyed it along with Kait's story. So I was looking forward to Gears 5 to see how it played out. I was not disappointed. Graphics: Absolutely incredible looking game, and a pretty solid 60    I finished the Gears 5 campaign last night. I had an absolute blast playing through this game. Very surprised as I am not a major Gears of War fan overall.

    I recently played through Gears 4 and enjoyed it along with Kait's story. So I was looking forward to Gears 5 to see how it played out. I was not disappointed.

    Graphics: Absolutely incredible looking game, and a pretty solid 60 FPS Frame Buffer. Smooth game.

    Audio: Extremely well done, guns sound great, enemies, music composition and timing, all excellent.

    Story: Solid as even some of the top tier games this generation. I was engrossed in the story! I was literally in shock and awe near the end of the game. It was literally jaw dropping. God of War meets Contra meets a massive blockbuster action movie. I could not believe it. The game was also much more emotional than previous entries, with some choices and arcs that are truly deep, and, in some cases, tough choices to make. It was a very involved story that did not feel generic.

    Gameplay: Gameplay typical of Gears with some new, very well done mechanics such as Jack, your AI assistant. Some new weapons, the Lancer GL is bad ass. Overall, gameplay is very solid.

    This game is a must play to me, even if you are not a huge Gears fan. I took some points off for various things that all added up, such as some issues in game with graphics, clipping, mapping, some disconnects in co-op. I also think the COG's need their own flashlight instead of just relying on Jack, that was rather frustrating. They also need a photo mode! This game BEGS to have one! Also, the new open world design in certain areas was a fun addition, but I feel like it was sparse overall in terms of exploration. They give you side objectives, but there are no random encounters in the open world, which made traveling kind of dull after a while.

    Overall, I give this game a 9/10. I think The Coalition did an incredible job, and I cannot wait for the next entry in the series! This game is one of my top 5 games of the generation, alongside God of War, RDR2, Spiderman, and the Forza Horizon entries. Do yourself a favor and give Gears 5 a play!    … Expand

    Unplayable at launch for PC players...

    I already regret purchasing this title. I can think of nothing more frustrating than not being able to play your game when you intentionally setup your day to do so. Some of us don’t have 7 days to play because of work. Regardless of where things go from here, the experience is already a bad one.

Never in my life have I ever been around so much toxic people on Twitter and Facebook bashing everything Xbox. I've read the so-called "negative" reviews and let me tell you that this game is truly amazing and deserves a 10! Right from the start the campaign opens like a Blockbuster movie! the first act of this game reminds me of metal gear solid 2 in the best possible way! You start off as a JD Fenix for the first act of the game! I don't want to give away too much but it is amazing! The rest of the game you play as KAIT and that too is amazing! the graphics are on a whole nother level and I'm so surprised to see so much Fidelity and detail to this game without any hiccups! The combat feels so redefine and fresh and I really love the new elements like using Jack and upgrading him! Plus seeing Carmine as an older fellow makes me smile! The coalition really put the time and effort into this one! the dialogue will make you laugh the story is perfectly paced the set pieces are jaw-dropping the character Dynamics reminds me of a long going movie franchise that we love so much! Plus callbacks to gears 2, 3, and judgement are the icing on the cake! The soundtrack deserve much recognition as well. the recurring themes in the soundtrack really gets her heart pumping especially the original gears of war theme! I can go on and on and on but I'm learning how to make a proper review lol . In short gears of war 5 does live up to the hype and please disregard any negative people online that are bashing this game for the sake of being on Xbox. Microsoft and the coalition if you are reading this my hat is off to you! Thank you for making this game possible and I can speak for the whole fan base when I say "bring on Xbox Scarlett" and "bring on the future of gears"!… Expand

    Sound and Music: 8.5. Some of the music tracks are truly beautiful and the soundboard for this game is excellent.

    Fun Factor: 8.5. This is probably the most enjoyable Gears to date, and while I could’ve done with more bosses, I really dig what we’ve been given.

    Depth: 9.5. With all of the collectibles and modes, I think this is one of the deepest third-person shooters in gaming history.    … Expand

    Looks like they are really supporting the multiplayer with the free battlepass.
    Also they outstand themselves with the new scape mode, were people can create its own maps, this way the gamemode can keep it's freshness everyday.

    Bunch of glitches and bugs. Game couldn't save after hours of spending time with the Hord Mode. All progress lost. Characters are one dimensional and boring. Dialogs are cringe as hell sometimes. And barely bring the story forward.

    Juego espectacular desde el punto de vista técnico, con uno sino el mejor sistema de luces y partículas que he visto en un juego. La historia y su ritmo es frenético y de alta calidad, han mejorado la profundidad de sus personajes y ampliado el universo Gears. Artísticamente es muy bello y la jugabilidad tanto en campaña como online es más frenética que nunca. Obra maestra del género.

It arguably features the most insane visuals ever witnessed on console and possibly PC(depending on your GPU). The game play is more refined than that of the previous Gears or any 3rd person cover shooter and the enemy AI finally has purpose in theI skipped Gears 4 , but this game re-capped it in a great cinematic fashion. This game is breathtaking to look at in 4k HDR in 60fps. It arguably features the most insane visuals ever witnessed on console and possibly PC(depending on your GPU).     How the coalition made a game that looks this good at 60 fps is beyond me. Great gameplay great music great story. The sidequests in this game actually help you in the hardest difficulty. Multyplayer is still a blast. My game of the year and up for running as game of the generationalong side god of war and zero dawn

    The multiplayer is forced crossplay meaning if your on xbox and are vs ppl on PC, you're screwed. Also plagued with people hacking on PC and the game is riddled with broken achievements.

    What can i say?
    Its almost the perfect game.

    It has:

    -High quality campaign
    -Co-op Campaign (up to 3 player splitscreen AND online!)
    -High quality versus (one of the best in genre)
    -High quality Horde Mode (THE best in genre)
    -High quality Escape Mode
    -One of the best graphics in this gen (its 4k AND 60fps)

    I say as it is. This game is one of the best games of the gen. All magazines dont know how to rate a good game. How are all those massive (and good!) content worth like nothing?
    This isnt right. I playing the game the whole time EVERY mode. I cant say 1 bad thing about this game realy.

    This Game should have got 95% and not the 85% here on meta. This isnt right. This is absolutly not right.

    All i can say is you have to play this game realy. Everything you want you will get.

    For me it is a 10/10 and would give it like 95-96% (and not only personal!)    … Expand

    E eu pensando que Gears of War 3 era o melhor game da franquia, mas esse ai fez eu mudar de ideia, uma história frenética e mais desafiadora em relação aos games anteriores, narrativa que te deixa vidrado e curioso pelo que vai acontecer no ato seguinte, e em relação ao cop foi o que mais me chamou a atenção nesse game, pois agora o jogador antes de inicar uma missão, ele ira poderE eu pensando que Gears of War 3 era o melhor game da franquia, mas esse ai fez eu mudar de ideia, uma história frenética e mais desafiadora em relação aos games anteriores, narrativa que te deixa vidrado e curioso pelo que vai acontecer no ato seguinte, e em relação ao cop foi o que mais me chamou a atenção nesse game, pois agora o jogador antes de inicar uma missão, ele ira poder escolher um dos personagens relacionado a aquele ato, mutiplayer frenetico assim como no game anterior e o Horda continua quase o mesmo com inovação de abilidades de poder subir de nivel nua vida e arma… Expand

    Iniciei a campanha do Gears 5 logo após terminar a do GoW4 e o salto de qualidade é absurdo! No Xbox One X os gráficos e a fluidez do jogo estão sensacionais. Parabéns a Coalition pela otimização do game, parece até uma amostra do que será a próxima geração dos consoles.

    Can’t stop thinking about this game. Looks and sounds amazing. Everything you want in a big budget action game. Play it in your theater room with the surround sound cranked. I don’t understand how anyone could give this less than a nine.

    Campaign is up there with the best single player games not just in Gears of War. Must buy for those action hungry gamers. Gears 5 is also the best all round package for any Gears game. Consider it the Halo Reach for Gears of War.

    I'm in Act 1 chapter 3 and so far the story is engaging with no signs of slowing down. I'm playing through on the hardest difficulty and it is a good challenge without being over the top difficult. Maybe I will update after I try horde mode. By the way it is a beautiful game on my x.

    This game is a breath of fresh air, especially for the drought of AAA games on Xbox.
    The game is beautiful, and looks best on the OneX with a 4K HDR display. Love the elements they added to the game. The Coalition did a phenomenal job. Don't let the media convince you this game doesn't deserve anything less than a 90. It's atleast worth 90-95. A must buy.

    This is probably the best Microsoft maid game ever… It looks and runs godly on the Xbox one X. And when you combined all the different ways to play this game will get played for years to come!

    Um jogo massante no bom sentido, com gráficos de cair o queixo e uma história bem melhor doq a do jogo anterior, mas fica devendo um pouco em relação a trilogia inicial. Tirando isso um jogo digno de Gears Of War !!

    Sin duda alguna los baches que habían en el 4 fueron arreglados y no solo eso, mejoraron lo lo que estaba bien, y el modo historia sin duda alguna es la más profunda de la franquicia, y visualmente es fantástico. 10 de 10

    Após um Gears 4 abaixo da trilogia anterior, Gears5 trouxe o que há de melhor da trilogia anterior com o melhor que Gears 4 teve a oferecer, aliado a inovações na jogabilidade, mundo semi Aberto, veículo, novos inimigos e etc... Simplesmente perfeito.

    La campaña es increible!! Sin duda alguna supero por mucho a su antecesor.
    Tiene una historia que te atrapa como debe ser en un increible juego, una que otra escena triste pero quitando eso estoy muy satisfecho.

    L'ho provato su un PC abbastanza potente e, francamente, è una delle migliori port che vedo da anni. Hanno faticato a fare un buon lavoro per la comunità dei PC, cosa che molti non hanno fatto durante l'attuale generazione. Grazie XBOX. Ti meriti il ​​punteggio più alto. Daje Marcus Fenix!!!!

    Gears 5 is an odd thing; it's neither a grand leap forwards, nor a complete rehash of what came before, and therefore sits somewhere in the middle of the two. On the whole, the improvements do outweigh the negatives (the non-linear approach to campaign levels and the small changes to horde mode being some of the most notable), and while The Coalition still has some work to do to really make the series its own, this is a far bolder and more varied approach the relatively safe Gears 4. If you love shooters and you want a good place to jump back into the series, this is perfect place to work the rust out of your lancer.

    Gears 5 offers a solid portion of brutal action with several refreshing new things. If you have intentionally avoided games from this series, the fifth sequel probably won´t change your mind, but if you are looking for a quality action game and you are still a fan of multiplayer, try it.     Gears 5 proposes a breathtaking solo campaign and a generous array of multiplayer modes. Even if the recipe remains classic, we really want to go through with it. The characters are rather well written, the environments are often spectacular, and Jack the robot adds some salt to the gameplay. A visual feast and glorious action game that perfectly demonstrate Xbox One X's true power.
