Funk of Titans

If you’re looking for a fun distraction for about 4 hours and have nine bucks to spare, give it a shot. You may actually have a fun time like I did.

Good ideas and a fun artistic approach for a game which is sometimes boring.

An endless runner adventure plenty of good ideas and humor... but plenty of issues and repetitiveness as well.

Funk of Titans is a simple and direct platform game in firsts stages. But it's also too repetitive, with a weak level design and irregular graphics.

It's not disastrous, but it is bland. [Issue#121, p.87]

Funk of Titans is a game that sounds fine on paper but falls apart in the execution.

A short and mediocre game without any specific shining aspects; Indie games can be much better than this.

Funk of Titans has its moments, but occasional control issues and a lack of innovation keep it from being anything noteworthy.

It’s a fun, if shallow, platformer that’s held back by poor design beyond that core hook, a sense of humour that’s crass more often than it is funny, and plenty of bugs.

Indie titles usually are a real source of support in lean times like this, but if you want my advice, at least this time try at all costs to extend your gaming fasting by avoiding this production. Your wallet and your liver will thank warmly.

While the runner platformer is fine and the visuals and story behind the game pleasant, the end result does not come together to create a cohesive experience worth investing your time into.

For almost the entirety of the two and half hours it took me to complete Funk of Titans, I was bored.

Funk of Titans is a game full of missed opportunities and it’s really a shame. The game has a solid premise that would be good for some great laughs and varied gameplay, it just never seems to deliver.

Funk of the Titans is a game with its heart in the right place, but repetitively boring gameplay and QTE’s keep the charm from winning out in the end.

If this game had been free to play, I probably would have dismissed many things and given it a higher score, but at $8.99, this is one you can definitely skip.

Even if you could play Funk Of Titans on your phone, for free, it is so ludicrously sketchy and tedious that it would still be impossible to recommend. So on Xbox One, for the positively gaudy introductory asking price? No way, José.

Few levels provide much of a challenge, so breezing through the entirety of the game in a short period of time is more than likely, though for sub-15-buck price, it’s not much of a lost and can be worth it if you’re looking for a quick downloadable fix. But surely this blended concoction has sorely missed the bull's-eye of arcade perfection.

Funk of Titans acts and feels like a cheap mobile game that was ported over to Xbox One.

There aren't many runners on consoles, and the genre deserved better. They can be special at times and at the very least a fun time waster, but funk this.

This is far from an unplayably awful game, but there's very, very little depth here, and what is presented is incredibly repetitive to say the least.
