May 18, 2019For the King is undoubtedly one of the most distinct, intriguing, and fun RPG roguelikes in recent memory, and what’s more, the content value is through the roof. Despite the odd technical hiccup, the game succeeds in blending so many mechanics together without making a mess, and yet respectably manages to remain accessible and exciting throughout. If you’ve even a smidgen of interest in this game, you owe it to yourself to pick this up.

Jun 8, 2019For The King is quite frankly one of the best games you can get for the price range. With five different game modes, all of which include their own enjoyable gimmicks such as survival elements and a focus on seafaring, there is more than enough content to find yourself going through. Supported by fantastic depth in the combat and systems that tie the game together, what few setbacks it has can easily be overlooked. If you have been looking for a turn based RPG, it would be an absolute shame to skip out on For The King.

Jun 2, 2019For the King is a turn-based role-playing game, in which each game will be different thanks to its procedural style. A game that will make you want to continue playing one turn after another. Ideal to start in this style of games and very complete for lovers of it. Guarantees many hours of fun.

Apr 21, 2021If you have two board game friends who are hungry for their dice roll fix, For the King may be for you. Cleverly blending its roots with the Rogue-Like genre, it offers substantial content for those who are adept at tactical combat and cooperative board games. Don't go there thinking of playing it alone, because the whole thing loses interest dramatically. Board game buffs will see For the King as a good palliative to their usual activities.

Sep 30, 2019I’m grateful that singleplayer exists since it’s hard enough to get two friends together, let alone getting two to commit to a long campaign. However, For the King is a game best enjoyed with others. I finished it solo, but the lack of other players made the experience less enriching. With this in mind, For the King is a jolly questing experience, both as a local and online boardgame experience.
