FAR: Lone Sails is a trip that once you play, you won’t forget anytime soon. It’s beautiful and emotional in a raw way that very few games manage; with no words, it strikes straight to the heart. It’s a wonderful experience from start to finish, and I wholeheartedly suggest anyone to play it who has the slightest of interest.

Lone Sails 2D, beautiful journey is short but sweet, and there is no other game in this genre that you can compare it with. If you don't mind your 15 bucks, you should definitely go for it.

An interesting proposal that pays attention to your feeling more than to graphics or sound to tell us a moving story about loneliness.

Far: Lone Sails is a game that says a great deal without ever uttering a single word. Much like Dear Esther, it’s a journey that can be interpreted in many ways, and as such, your view of its gorgeously desperate world will constantly vary throughout. It’s a shame, however, that such a compelling canvas is slightly held back by its simplicity and its short length. Still, it’s a fascinating tale that deserves attention, just don’t expect too much from its gameplay.

Unique experiences don't come around frequently enough anymore and FarL Lone Sails was able to deliver a fun although short experience I won't soon forget. A game doesn’t need to have any dialogue tell a dramatic story, but in order for a game to be successful when trying this concept it does need to be crammed with atmosphere and immersion. FAR: Lone Sails achieves this formula well, and both the visuals and sound design shine through an unforgettable journey with a few different emotions encountered along the journey.. Despite a small morsel of repetitiveness feeling occasionally, I still enjoyed the game and the relaxing yet emotional tale. I would however have liked to have seen more puzzles or multiple paths that could have been taken, maybe we will get that in the form of a future DLC. That said the content is done really well and if you’re looking for a journey that takes you away from all of the action games on the market today, then I’m sure you’ll really enjoy what FAR: Lone Sails offers. The game most definitely gets a thumbs up as it feels great in my wheelhouse of gaming styles. Expand

It's a simple puzzle platformer with a little bit of resource management in that you have to keep your vehicle maintained and running.

The art direction is fine. The main vehicle has a really creative design and the environments are well done. Although, I'm not sure why they fluctuated between full on colour for some backdrops and greyscale for others. The backgrounds go from flat barren areas, to a tornado destroying an abandoned town, to wrecked ships, to a volcano explosion. Couple this, with the music and overall the game does a good job of giving you the feeling that this world is completely dead and dangerous to try and survive in.

The puzzles are simple, it's mostly just hitting buttons to progress things or use something on your vehicle to help progress things. I wouldn't exactly say they're mind melters.

There's no dialogue at all and I didn't really understand the plot, if there even was one. That made it hard for me to get more immersed in the game and to try and relate or to understand the main character's motivations.

I'm not exactly sure why, but overall, this game wasn't really enrapturing me as much as I was hoping it would.

TheYou just want to like the game with its style when you get in, but you struggle to stick it out once you've been through it for a while. The interruptions from chapter to chapter are huge and almost silent, the tasks very repetitive, and other than finding switches, there's just too little happening overall.
I'm a good third of the way through the campaign and 18% of the players have reached the achievement of the last section. In the end, that is simply a clear result. And it doesn't turn out well.
