Dont know what else to say here...Its like playing Dead Island or Dying Light except...with cavemen and extinct animals in prehistoric times.

Here is the deal. The map has been recycled. They used almost all the same assets from Farcry 4. No wonder this game just popped up so fast. Even some of the animals are re-skinned from Farcry 4. This doesnt sit well with me. Game just seems

Buy or rent? I would say 100% rent. Save your money for much better games coming out soon within the next 2-3 months.

It is all the boring parts of national geographic without the amazing Morgan Freeman commentary. Now I just need 50 more characters to complete this review.

All I can say is it isn't far cry and sadly so and only a shell of a far cry game it has no soul. Game feels so cheap and hate all the subtitles I mean you really you need voice overs with modern language no matter what time period it is it make things more immersive that way narrative wise. Also the narrative unlike past two far cry titles is only here to serve the gameplay nothing else which is sad because after last two far cry titles fans are more then use to the gameplay and mechanics of any far cry title so the narrative along with whatever new ideas they came up with was one of the major things to look forward with each sequel and with Primal nothing to admire or even want to follow once you begin it. Also the weapon selection and variety is not only lacking you can expect a club, spear, and Bow nothing much else and it gets boring real quick and doesn't give you anything to look forward to either I mean this isn't far cry it's just a new game with same engine and mechanics from far cry 4 and done poorly so. I am sad I paid 65 dollars for this not worth full price surely plays like some expensive expansion and not one deserving of far cry title. If you like survival games you might like this for a little while but even as a survival title it's lacking, boring, and nothing special there is a lot better out there and they shouldn't have made this far cry but clearly did so that they could get away with cheaply using same engine and mechanics from far cry franchise and clearly milking the brand and it's sad to and this Is coming from a hard core fan since far cry 2 and on.If you looking for more far cry stay away far far away and spend your money on something better don't let them get away with abusing brands like this. I want my money back and to be honest I am so disappointed I was foolish enough to take the plunge should have known better if it looks and sounds like a duck then it clearly is a duck. Expand

Welcome to Far Cry: Hardline - Flintstones edition!

I will start by saying that when the games own advert is demonstrating what it wrong with Primal as a concept by having a military guy go from high tech to cave man whilst at the same time demonstrating that the more interesting time periods to set a game are actually the future / recent history then you know that you have a problem
Welcome to Far Cry: Hardline - Flintstones edition!

I will start by saying that when the games own advert is demonstrating what it wrong with Primal as a concept by having a military guy go from high tech to cave man whilst at the same time demonstrating that the more interesting time periods to set a game are actually the future / recent history then you know that you have a problem going in.

Who doesnt want to play Far Cry: Colonial Marines or Far Cry: 1800's, the reason that Far Cry itself is so popular is partly because of the combat aspect.

So instead of guns and grenades, we have bow and arrows, spears...and Dr Doolittle ability to control certain animals and a story entirely spoken in alleged caveman speak and subtitles. (I cannot wait for the PC guys to brag about how 4k quality their subtitles look)

Its not that this is a bad game, its just not a Far Cry game instead it takes a game that had some potential and turned it into Ubisofts version of Battlefield Hardline.
If they had called the game anything else other than Far Cry, I would feel less inclined to give it a bad rating but by linking this game to a series that has a very specific formula you are only inviting criticism.

At best this game should have been a DLC add on to Far Cry 4, at worst its a concept that had potential but needed more time in development to flesh out character abilities and weapon types as well as craft a much more meaningful story.

game is a rush job. The plot is nonexistent and the villain is lame and can't compare with the others from previous FC games. The game play mechanics and animations are shamelessly recycled from previous FC games - game play manages to be even more limited and even less fun than before ! Primal is not just a brilliant game, it dramatically and triumphantly reinvigorates the Far Cry franchise.

Far Cry Primal‘s map is absolutely huge, and is literally teeming with objective markers and missions. I challenge even the most ardently focused of players to travel to their intended location without getting sidetracked on the way.

If only Ubisoft Montreal had felt more confident in its wild gambit – if only it had gone further with the Stone Age concept – and we could have been looking at something special. Instead, we have a Far Cry game that feels fun in its familiarity, but is sadly lacking in many integral ways.
