    This game has improved drastically from its initial release. It's a fun community that are willing to help out with quests. They've added new missions daily ops and expeditions. I started playing on gamepass and it is a decent game now. I recommend anyone go back and give it a try.

    Fallout 76 is situationally fun. It can be okay when your not fighting robots, but every other thing you do contains robots, the bugs are plentiful (i get some bugs are bound to make it through but getting a bug that affects gameplay once every 20 minutes is ridiculous). The story is mid as hell and the events are lackluster. The main reason i wound up quitting the game was the terribleFallout 76 is situationally fun.     It's funny how a game I hated turned out to be one of the most fun I've played in years, the game has improved a lot since launch and is packed with content these days.

    People missed out on this game when jumping on the hate bandwagon. Great world building and fun online leads to the best exploration with friends would have in any game. Sure its different but that was known going in.

    Enjoyable for at least a few hours of gameplay, but need friends to play with after that. Pales in comparison to Fallout 3 and New Vegas as a single player experience.

    It’s a good game, if you don’t like the genre and don’t like the gameplay that’s on you. Play something else instead of pretending it’s bad. In regards to bugs and things I played hours and hours on Xbox one s and never had any bugs. Definitely not any gamebreaking things. If you’re a fallout fan then give it a chance and don’t expect to be disappointed be optimistic.

    The game has many bugs and issues and should be labeled as early access title. But exploring the huge world, collecting loot and finding new weapons and lore items is still very fun. If they fix the issues it could be a great game. The cosmetic microtransactions are very expensive (12-18 € for a skin).

    It kinda feels like a lite/worse version of Fallout 4. The new missions with npcs made the game better, but the stories are still not really interesting and way to short. I wouldnt play this game solo, because it just doesnt feel fun, i only played it with friends. Why did they even make a cap for the players chest this just ruins the fun. A low level will deal as much damage to an enemy as somebody with a higher level since the enemies scale to each player. When you get stronger over time the enemies in the same area get stronger aswell so there is not point for me to upgrade my character. The System before was way better, where enemies would have a certain fixed level in a specific area. I also prefered the perk system in Fallout 4 where you could unlock every single perk. It is a grind to unlock every perk, but this was another reason that kept me playing. Why couldnt they just make a Fallout with coop combatibility instead of an online Fallout. Im just gonna stick to the other Fallout entries for now.… Expand

    Maps terrible and doesn't feel like a fallout map, pretty bland and the map looks misleading if im honest. Boring story and i can't really think of any memorable characters unlike previous fallout titles, the game might be fun with friends though?

    Another **** cash grab by Bethesda. The only reason to play this game over fallout 4 is because of the multiplayer. I would pick fallout 4 any day over this as it doesn't suck me into quests. Fallout 4 also has good factions rather than you being solo other than the online.

PVP is surprisingly well implimented all things considered, it is optional and based on mutual consent. the one noteworthy downside is that powerscaling does not hold up to some playstyles, which can result in PVE fights randomly getting very easy or uneccesarily punishing depending on your loadout and skills. the building system is tolerable, but copied from other games. the crafting of guns, food, alcohol, and armor is enjoyable and extensive. in bethesda fashion there are a lot of little easter eggs all across the map. events are enjoyable to play. it took a long time to get here, but i like it. the graphics could be better, but the world still looks nice. the world is well designed, and offers variety while also not feeling to packed. fast travel is costly (in caps) but cheesable, which in my opinion is the best way to do it. its a good bethesda game. it took 5 years to get there, but it got there.4/5… Expand

    I have been in vault since 1998, the only game that i had was fallout 1 and 2. So, now it's 2023, i going from vault and what i see? A stupid game with 0 rpg choises and empty world

    After seeing how much of a train wreck this game was on release and beyond, I made a huge promise to never buy this game if I valued myself as a fan of the Fallout games. A few years later and I would find this game in a bargain bin for the low price of £2, so I decided to get it and see the complaints. Below are some articulated points I have for this game:
    Although I do see the appeal for online games, I rarely play them. This is mostly because I hate paying for subscriptions to use a service I'm already paying for. So this problem may be commonplace in online games and I'm just not aware of it, but the AI in this game is horrendous. The main enemies in this game are these weird ghoul creatures that technically aren't ghouls, and they have some unconventional movement patterns and behaviors that I'm not used to seeing as a predominantly single-player sort of person. Might just be a nitpick, but I personally found it annoying to see enemies constantly sidestep and jerk around irregularly.
    They initially released the game with no NPCs, the entirety of the game's story was told with audio logs. After some vocal complaints, Bethesda quietly began adding NPCs for the player to interact with - and yet I still don't know what they were going for in terms of story. If it's a prequel all the games preceding it, then why are there Super Mutants in the wasteland? The NCR didn't form until after the original Fallout, yet you can still obtain their gear somehow. And the overall game has this bizarre late 60s vibe as opposed to the previous games' post-World War II Americana. Basic plot points in that have been illustrated since the beginning have been disregarded for what I would love to describe as poorly-written fan fiction at this rate.
    I would think to myself how Fallout could have worked as an online experience, but this is not how to do it. What upsets me the most is that the previous Fallout games by Bethesda had something going for them, there was something about Fallout 3 and 4 that thematically felt like Fallout - but were otherwise completely different tonally. I find it difficult to give this game a recommendation: Play any other Fallout game other than this.    … Expand

    Game has come a long way since first released. Reviewers should really give it a new look over. Excellent content. Great graphics. A huge world to explore. The kind of game you can sink thousands of hours into.

    The map is the best designed world Bethesda has created do far, but lacks the environmental story telling I have loved so much in this series. After Wastelanders update it felt like they finally found there footing, but lackluster ever since. Nothing of substance to keep you going. But the story is worth a playthrough.

    I loved the game since I bought it in 2021, because they had already corrected the errors it had. With Wastelanders, Steel Dawn and Steel Reign I enjoyed them, only the latter lacked more history. Still, the game is even more enjoyable when there are almost no bugs. Only there are a few Griefers that roam the game. Take precautions.

    If you want to spend 1/2 of your time logging back into the game, this is the game for you. The game is full of bugs that stop gameplay, either it will kick you or you will choose to restart. The game freezes often and can cause you to lose your place in the quest where you have to start all over again after spending so much time preparing for it.     I'm just gonna start out by saying; this is a Fallout game. This game was intended to just be an addon to Fallout 4, adding online capabilities. But then Bethesda decided to make it a whole new game! I love this game but I do have some problems with it. It doesn't have the story element that other Fallout games had. Yes, the game is intended to be played with friends but you can't make aI'm just gonna start out by saying; this is a Fallout game. Yes, the game is intended to be played with friends but you can't make a Fallout game without a proper story (it's like making a sandwich with no filling. The game needs more, I suggested before that you should be able to play in a solo world (like Forza Horizon 4). But what I didn't ask for is a 13$ monthly subscription. Bethesda basically revived Fallout 76 by adding the Wastelanders, this added life to Appalachia! For a person that has had the game since it came out, this is a HUGE relief. Thanks Bethesda. Also, if you're low on stimpaks (like me), go to Morgantown Airport, there are alot of medical supplies there.… Expand

    Wastelanders: Well it's the base campaign but with some of the best fallout content Bethesda ever made and the severs stopped crashing 5/10
    Steel Dawn : more good actual Fallout stuff plus the combat is much more responsive 7/10

    Wastelanders: Honestly one of the Greatest Fallout Stories written. It starts off pretty well, where you have to inoculate the Raiders and Settlers against the Plague that wiped out the survivors of Appalachia. The next missions are basically to build up your trust with the factions    Story:
    Core Story- Lazy and Boring. Get this holotape, get that holotape. Even no NPCs. Not fun at all.

    Wastelanders: Honestly one of the Greatest Fallout Stories written. It starts off pretty well, where you have to inoculate the Raiders and Settlers against the Plague that wiped out the survivors of Appalachia. The next missions are basically to build up your trust with the factions and ultimately decide with who you want to raid Vault 79 and get the gold. If there is a sequel to that, im looking forward to it.

    Steel Dawn: It felt a bit short since there were only 8 Missions. But since it only is the first chapter of the new Brotherhood, it was enjoyable. The missions were enjoyable and the NPCs introduced with the update were also good. While Knight Shin might be not the most likable NPC you encounter, he is lore friendly and basically represents what the Brotherhood is. It had one surprise where the Paladin betrays the Brotherhood and destroys the only communication signal. In Overall, im also looking forward to the next chapters in this DLC.

    And hopefully, in 2021, Bethesda releases an Enclave DLC.

    Gameplay:

    To be perfectly honest, all the best guns are locked behind a decent grind to level 50, which will take you a while since there are no exploits in the game which level you up fast, and the guns are balanced, but something feels wrong with finding a gun and not being able to use it, while it is absolutely understandable.

    But the Gameplay can be fun once you encounter Fallout Monsters and fight them with your friends, unless the AI is crap.

    Lore:
    I liked the Lore in the game, despite of it being set in a timeline which certainly is not the best. The holotapes were boring sure, but they were lore friendly etc. In Overall, I liked the lore, but the timeline certainly could be better.

    Map;

    Fallout 76 is a great open world, with its huge map and different regions. At launch, the map felt empty, since there were no NPCs. Now it also feels partially empty, but it still is a blast to explore and the best map in the Fallout Series.

    Graphics:

    From afar, this game looks beautiful, many viewpoints show you beautiful vistas and i loved it. From up close, the graphics are only a bit better than Fallout 4, since bethesda does not enhance their engine for some reason. But most of the graphical bugs which were there at launch were fixed, although you might encounter some graphical shadow bugs.

    NPCs:

    Most of the NPCs are well acted and it is enjoyable to talk to them, also the Dialogue System is a huge improvement from Fallout 4.

    Technical:

    Fallout 76 is buggy. While exploring, I have not encountered bugs besides the shadows etc. I encountered Audio Bugs while doing Events with many other people, instead of hearing the many other gun sounds i heard bizarre sounds. The game technically is better and does not crash often, the quests are sometimes buggy, you can't interact with NPCs or Intercoms sometimes, the disconnections from servers were surprisingly minimal. In overall, it has improved.

    Verdict:
    6,5/10

    The main story is boring, but the Wastelanders and Steel Dawn are really really well written! The Gameplays best parts are locked behind a huge grind, but is often rewarding and fun when the AI is not crap. The Lore is good in my opinion, but the timeline and when it is set clearly are not the best and since bethesda's fallouts only happen in the 2270 or later, it would not have been a bad idea to make fallout 76 happen in 2280 instead of 2103, but in overall, the holotapes are lore friendly and do a good job, while ruining the story. The Map is an absolute blast to explore, but feels partially empty. The bugs with graphics were mostly fixed, and the game is beautiful from afar, but only a bit better from up close than Fallout 4. The NPCs are generally well acted and the dialogue system is a huge improvement from Fallout 4. It partially is technically rough and buggy, but in overall the updates and the Support from the Developers made the game a lot better and Wastelanders and Steel Dan are solid foundations to build the future story of fallout 76 on, and the game can absolutely be as good as Fallout 4 and recover from its reputation, since it always had and has potential.    … Expand

However, once you complete the main game, there is always new content coming out and daily events occurring.     I put over 100 hours into this game because I wanted it to be good, but it just never really came through. I don't like the bugs/glitches, but it's not a deal breaker for me. What really bugs me is the fact that inventory weight management is what you spend the most time on.

So you can't say, pick up that foot in a jar and deposit as a gift to someone. It's now a paper bag. Not good. Cant collect objects for decor.

    Small things that can be fixed. I hope they add more of everything. It has some moments of real great atmosphere. It's almost there with that creepy haunted house vibe. I'll thrash it out some more. I'm actually writing this waiting for their update 21 patch.... Still waiting. Patch doesn't look to have anything new, just bug fixes and some sort of competition events. Hope they do more useful items and creatures and vendors and NPC's. Maybe some pets, like a pack mule and a sewer rat.. Put Travelling salesmen in again too. Hope there's fishing too. Saw a fishing rod. Put it away for later. Hope it's not just junk. I don't want this to be a full shooter. If I want that I will go play Battlefield series. I want Fallout survival horror. Have to wait and see, but I get the feeling this game too basic to hold my attention for long.

    All that said, in conclusion it is well worth the ticket price for a wander around a work of art. Even at full price I think it would be worth it. I hope they keep building on it.    … Expand

    Weird game in a semi-fallout universe with terrible and dated graphics and inconsistent story. With VATS removed, you just stuck with a terrible shooter with clumsy controls. Seriously, Bethesda, just check people feedback, admit the project went completely wrong, stop it and make a Fallout 5.

    I played the last version a few months ago and it was a buggy mess but playable. Now I have spent some time with the latest version and it is a MORE playable buggy mess. It is fine though. All the core parts that are broken still are but the game is fine.

    They said it is at Fallout 3 level now with NPCs... and yeah, it is certainly at least as good as the multiplayer version of a buggy    I played the last version a few months ago and it was a buggy mess but playable.     The Wastelanders DLC breathed a whole new life into this game. It has an actual story, actual factions, actual NPCs, meaningful and engaging questlines, and new gear that is very fun to use. I dropped this game about 2 months after release because I got very tired of just grinding for everything. But now with this new DLC, I decided to come back to it. And I must say, Im happy I did.     So I played at launch and well, you know the story. For me the biggest thing was how empty the world felt, I never want that feeling in a BGS title. So I got the game for free and played the new update that added npcs and it already feels alot better.     The only reason this is a 5 is because of how bad it is. This game is so bad it's funny. The gameplay though is garbage, and if it wasn't so glitchy it would be a 1/10. (The glitchiness adds to the score because of it being so bad)

I don't typically write a review before completing a game, but i'm not sure i can finish it. There is literally nothing, beyond a new world, that is keeping me playing.     The world is empty, a lot of the questlines in this game feel as if the conclusion is known before you start due to the fact there are no NPCs. Game is a very bad look for the fallout series which is one of my favorites. Buggy mess that is only fun with friends, only somewhat though.

    The servers are incredibly unstable and drop connections frequently. The VATS system is shoe-horned in and is an absolute joke. The story and endgame are an incredibly watered-down version of what a Fallout story should be like, with a lot of survival crafting getting in the way.

    It's clear Bethesda do not care about the Fallout IP anymore. If they can't be bothered to develop an even half-way decent Fallout title, then they don't deserve your money.    … Expand

    Fallout 76 es sin dudas de los peores juegos de la franquicia.

    Muy mal Optimizado, demasiados Bug y Glitches tanto en Mapeado al igual que en enemigos(es cierto que esto es una costumbre en los juegos de Bethesda pero en Fallout 76 es algo imperdonable que en cada rincón del mapa y en cualquier momento si o si se encuentre un error de estos) Una IA pésima que inclusive pasa de    Fallout 76 es sin dudas de los peores juegos de la franquicia.

    It's true that fallout 76 launched in a near broken state. And that Bethesda was slow to fix it on all platforms. However what is most evident playing this game a year after it's initial launch is how much effort Bethesda has put into it. The building mechanics are incredible. The online PVP is really fun.     The survival mechanics are a slog for the first 10 or so hours. At a high level the game gets better. Unfortunately very few character builds are viable against high level bosses. The new VATS system works poorly.

    I bought Fallout 76 upon release and was slightly disappointed. Compared to its predecessors its story line is quick, easy and boring, and you find yourself finished after 10-15 hours of playing. The endgame is not very satisfying, as there is only one hard enemy that usually bugs out and disappears before you actually manage to gather anything. Otherwise you find yourself grinding for noI bought Fallout 76 upon release and was slightly disappointed.     I have had no issue or bugs with this game. Although I miss the NPCs, they are coming with new content. I enjoyed this game with over 250+ hours of entertainment. This FEELS like Fallout and can be played solo, which I have done. I love the setting in West Virginia, the cryptids, and the holiday events.

I have been a life long fan of that Franchise and thought maybe they had learned their lessons from the criticisms the fans had about Fallout 4 and wanted to make it up to us. Give us a real love letter game addressed to the single player action adventure RPG fan.

    I never saw what was coming, I never thought they would stoop so low. They sold out one of the most beloved game franchises in history!!! After all that BS about #SavePlayerOne they take a game that has always been a single player RPG and turn it into a micro-transaction filled, monetized to hell, MMO. Then they do not even do that right.

    Call me biased, call me a hater. I do not care this game is garbage. No NPCs, horrible game play and full of bugs and glitches. Bethesda and ZeniMax sold out and wanted to jump on the Fortnite, Battle Royal, MMO money train...but they had no idea what the hell they were doing. If they would have just stuck to what they where good at maybe things could have been different but they got greedy. Now The Outer World's is making Todd Howard, Pete Hines and the rest of the gang there in Maryland look like a bunch of douche bags.    … Expand

    If you defend fallout 76 you truly are desperate i am not sure where you went wrong. Some people say they will fix it and, yah sure they have by introducing a $100 dollar subscription. Even that they some how f*cked. I really don't have hope they will introduce NPC's because they already are delaying it more and f*cking more.

    Not as bad as people make it out to be.
    Hope they can add more content and especially stop making dumb decisions.
    This game could be a lot better if they improved performance, added npc's (which is supposed to come with Wastelanders dlc), basically make it more fun.
    Still have hope for this game!

    But it’s hard to feel as if you’re truly affecting the world when there are no NPCs to express satisfaction or disdain, or to be directly influenced by your actions. Even killing feels hollow. Some of my best battles in Fallout 4 came when I stumbled across an outpost and found there a raider in there; he’d yell and scream at me as we were facing off. The Scorched, while armed, feel like nothing more than zombies.

    The addition of multiplayer feels as though it comes at the expense of Fallout’s memorable story-driven moments. What good is a vast map full of players if they're given little to no purpose? When no other players are around, the game’s world feels almost empty. The attention-grabbing locales and landmarks add to Appalachia's charm, but it's difficult to not wish for living, breathing characters to inhabit it. Post-apocalyptic West Virginia is described as a wasteland, and this term paints an inadvertent but accurate picture of what Fallout 76 is right now.

    If you enjoy multiplayer games of this type and are willing to overlook the engine anomalies, you may find yourself rapidly addicted to the game's exploration density and loot systems. If you're easily frustrated by bugs and issues, you may want to sit tight a bit to see what Bethesda does to polish things up, cus oh boy, it could use a bit right now. If you're a fan of the single player, branching narrative the series is known for, you'll want to wait for Fallout 5.
