Oct 22, 2015It's...freaking AMAZING.
Even if i wasn't an astrophysics dork, or a sci-fi dork, or a gamer, or the trillion other random qualities that predispose me to something like this, none of this contributes to the score. It's something more. Something i thought i'd experienced for the last time when i discovered Morrowind 900,000yrs ago:
A genuine sense of awe. -

Apr 13, 2020Good SIM with a fair few things to do, beware the grind! Combat can be tough but engineering weapons makes a big difference, if you are willing to grind for resources.

Oct 9, 2015A great game.
It's not the action packed escapade they'd want you to think it is. In that regard, it's a bit misleading. Yes, there are large battles you can be a part of, but a good portion of the game is spent traveling, earning cash, and politics. It's more fun than it sounds, but not as exciting as it could be, I suppose. -

May 13, 2020I discovered the beta version today. Was actually rather coincidence because space simulations are too tough and boring for me. I notice that in this game as well, but it looks chic.
Handling etc. needs a longer training and the tutorial is too short.
As a newcomer, you are overwhelmed with the controls. -
Oct 24, 2015E:D would be an extraordinary game were it not for two glaring flaws. First, there remain unresolved bugs that can potentially damage graphics cards when played in SLI. The user is not warned of these issues. Second, the content is bland and repetitive. But if you like Space Engine and you know not to turn on SLI, then you will love this game.

Aug 31, 2016Horribly complex, tutorials are almost useless, Missions when you start are far too hard. I gave it 3, add 4 if you are a hardcore gamer with patience of steel and subtract 3 if you prefer games over insane simulators with horrid tutorials.

Apr 21, 2020Horribly complex, tutorials are almost useless, Missions when you start are far too hard, penalties for dying are draconian, grind is insane and the only content of the game.

Jul 13, 2016Elite Dangerous offers gamers a seemingly unlimited amount of gameplay, and this is reinforced when you settle in and see how titanic the scale and size of the game environment actually is with the amount of possibilities and opportunities that are provided.
-
Jan 20, 2016Staying true to its genre Elite Dangerous provides a great sense of freedom in a universe where the player’s choices dictate his progression in the game. It may take some time to get accustomed to the controls and the general functions of the game but once you get the hang of it you’ll experience something unique. It is unfortunate that the experience is held back by an extremely poor tutorial and constant disconnects.
