Don Bradman Cricket is a fine, fine game. As a simulation of a sport, it's right up there in terms of quality.

The reason being is that cricket is a game that takes patience, some matches go for DAYS in real life. This means that picking the game up and playing a match with friends can be more difficult than other games such as FIFA or NBA 2k. Big Ant studios countered this by implementing casual 5-5 games witch can be finished as much as 30 minutes less than the games longest mode, 4 day test match. They came close to perfection with the player career mode. in the career mode you can start as young as 16 years old, starting out with teams from states, counties etc. and working your way up through t20 leagues and finally making it to the international games. The mode has an effective way of telling you how close to achieving a spot in each league. This uses ranking points, you get ranking points after finishing games. The amount of ranking points can vary based on how well you performed in that game. It also has a player creation system, which(in my opinion) is the most advanced in a sports game to date. It also features tour modes and academy modes. Expand

TheI also own the 360 version of this game and at launch was disappointed by the bugs and over all lack of polish that version launched with. The Xbox One version has launched with all major bugs fixed and the gameplay tweaked enough to make it easily the best cricket game around.

The one criticism is that the career mode is lacking compared to titles likes NBA2k/Fifa with annoyances like no new players being generated, no one retiring or changing skills are the career progresses, no players moving between clubs, always replacing the player who bats your position in the national sides etc. I understand the game is on a much smaller budget than those other games but at the same time it retails for more than those games and should still warrant a comparison to them.

Over all though it's a great product for any cricket fan and it has me very excited to see what big ant do with the franchise going forward as the framework is there it just needs a bit of polish and a few refinements.

Developed and produced by the same teams that specialize in rugby league gaming. The graphics are sub-par and the mechanics can be quite difficult to master. The camera angle is the most difficult aspect to grasp. Nonetheless, once practiced, it grows on you. Having a career mode with a 16 year old rookie, to develop and train is always a loved concept in these sport generations of gaming. Expand

Perhaps I was expecting too much. The skill difference between batting and bowling is too inconsistent. When bowling, the spin bowling is much more harder to perfect than fast bowling While batting it is twice as hard to play spin than pace.
It was fun for a time ( cricket world cup might of had something to do with me playing it a lot) but the game grew quickly tedious and frustrating to play. Not enough to keep me around.
