With a vast virtual park to explore, loads of beloved characters, and plenty of minigames, Disneyland Adventures is one of the best Disney games out there.

The HD conversion of a Kinect classic shows the same charm as six years ago, while with the added pad support it opens up the theme park for a new audience. Unfortunately it is held back by visual shortcomings like tearing.

Disneyland Adventure is a game, or should I say experience, that I would happily recommend for young kids and Disney Lovers. However, it is a short adventure and the conversion from a Kinect title to a controller based title for certain aspects of this updated title didn't translate well and makes it somewhat mundane at times. Disneyland Adventures is something you want to love, cherish and play over and over again, but unfortunately just doesn't have the staying power that the real Disneyland would obviously have.

Young children are going to find plenty to keep them invested with or without it. It looks lovely and there's lots to do, but it feels a little safe by today's standards.

Disneyland Adventures walks a fine line between triumph and disappointment. The park section is awesome, and even though the target audience means that the quests are easy, you'll still be fascinated at how much there is to do and how the park's magic translates quite well digitally. The minigames are more disappointing, since the regular controller makes some of them more difficult to play, while the appearance of bugs that weren't in the original title is equally disappointing. For a Disney aficionado, this title is still worth checking out if you can get it for cheap.

No Frozen or Brave cameos – a huge miss considering this games target audience.

The perfect game to experience the magic of Disneyland like never before. Well, like before. Exactly the same game as 2011, but in 4K and HDR.

Disneyland Adventures is a not-so-magical adventure through a game that is unable to keep up with the player.

Disneyland Adventures is a terrible remaster of what should be an enjoyable family game. Running around hugging cartoon characters, taking pictures and grabbing autographs is what everyone would want from a trip to Disneyland, it’s just a shame that this is the kind of trip where you miss your flight, the weather is terrible, and your hotel room is dirty.

To be blunt, at its core it’s still really a game for young children, and much of it is a collectathon where you follow a golden line from mission to mission, but any Disney fan who’s a child at heart will get a kick out of exploring this one and meeting the wide variety of Disney characters wandering around.

I must admit that I didn’t expect Disneyland Adventures to get a remaster and I was surprised that there wasn’t more news on the remaster. TheI must admit that I didn’t expect Disneyland Adventures to get a remaster and I was surprised that there wasn’t more news on the remaster. The remaster can be good at times but it suffers with quite a few problems and in the end I thought the original was better. Don’t get me wrong children will absolutely adore this and there is a huge amount of content for them to sink their teeth into. Unfortunately though the content does lack variety and my children did get bored with it because things just ended up going stale. There are however a huge amount of characters in the game, and they have done a wonderful job with each character and I must say that me and my children were impressed with this aspect. The gameplay can be quite fun at times but the enjoyability can turn to frustration quite quickly, and the main reason for that is because of the technical issues. The amount of technical issues in a game like this is unforgiving and the worst thing is that the issues always seem to be present. They have however done a very good job with the controls and they remain responsive throughout. I also like how they’ve given you the option to play with a controller or kinect, but unfortunately there is nothing else new from the original. The presentation side of the game has seen quite a significant improvement from the original and it does make you become more immersed in the game. The visuals and sound design work together really well and this was probably mine and my children’s favourite thing about the game. At the end of the day Disneyland Adventures does play well every now and then but unfortunately there always seems to be a problem near by. If you played the original then there really is no point in getting this game because there is nothing new in the game and the only real improvement are the visuals, which is a shame. Kids though without a doubt will enjoy this game for quite a few hours and because of the amount of content it has it just about gets a recommendation from me. Full Review »

    Disneyland Adventures
    Great potential
I wasn’t expecting to enjoy Disneyland Adventures quite so much, this is a 3rd person adventure game that’s starts by you creating your own character and takes place in Disneyland… literally… you run around in a recreated version of the California theme park, talking to various characters from all of your favorite Disney movies.. characters youd expect to find in certain sections of the map… and essentially you do fetch quests.. this is a giant game of fetch quests… youll talk to character, they’ll need you to collect an x amount of items and along the way you can talk to other characters that will absically give you the same task, so you can collect their items with your magic wand while collecting items for everyone else, occasionally having to do more gimmicky quests like taking pictures for the 1000th time or water plants, these quests are easily the worst part of the game, unfun slow and janky… the best though is when youre sent on a quest that involves you going onto one of the rides at Disney land..
Here they bring the rides to life in a video gamey fashion, all with their own story and cutscenes and Disney characters… overall Disneyland Adventures really impressed me with the care they took to staying true to these characters, getting them all voice acted, and every character having a seemingly endless amount of tasks to do.. the only problem is there isn’t enough different being done with these quests and tasks… don’t get me wrong, it took me a while to get bored of this games… I put in nearly 16 hours and didn’t strat getting bored until maybe hour 12, but the thing is I had no idea I was even playing for this long… so there is defeintely a mesmerizing distraction aspect to disnelyland adenutres.. especially thanks to there use of different Disney characters.. sure yorue doing the same tasks over and over.. take these pictures for me.. find me 5 of this, 3 of that…. youll find yourself pushing through waiting for your favorite to need something else… pushing through for a quest that takes you onto one of the rides.. which brings me to my biggest issue… the attractions and levels of Dsineyland Adventures all feel like reskinned levels of eachother.. at first I was excited and by peter pans levels.. flying through Neverland, sword fighting captain hook, sking down matterhorn, having a snowball fight with yetis… falling down wonderland… every world felt different… and then next thing I know, im flying with buzzlight year or swimming with nemo… sword fighting in pirates off the carrabian, throwing banans at gorillas, im falling down the haunted mansion, just reskinned versions of what ive been doing for the bast 12 hours.. the one place where disnleyland adventures could take liberties and build an actual campaign inside this fetchquesty advertisement.. it just gets lazy and smacks you with the same levels and quick times events.. its sad to say that its more fun running around huting down thread for Cinderella than it is going through these mini campaigns beyond the first 4
I still really loved my times with Disneland Adventures, more than I thought I would.. I just wish more was done here beyond a lets make a disnely land commercial with a bunch of chores to distract your child for 15 hours
    I give Disnelyland Adventures
    a 6.5/10
