Jun 26, 2021It's a fun game for the first third or so of its playtime, but then it gets extremely stale really fast.

Jul 2, 2020Remembering many negative reviews I read will just drive me extremely insane. I loved every seconds of gameplay. This game did not get worse when this expansion came out.

May 10, 2017Absolutely fantastic overhaul of the destiny system and game. Love the changes to the story and the PVP changes! The new raid breathed a breath of fresh air into this game. :D

Nov 10, 2016While the taken king still can't offer a good campaign as promised, the taken king still improves over somethings like the new mission design and levels, cool new add-ons to the gameplay, and the fact that they actually try to have a story here is a plus for this expansion.

Oct 5, 2016Same poor excuse of content that Bungie have been putting as little effort into as possible for the past 2 years just rehashed once more.
Same bad gameplay, no new features. -

Jan 28, 2016Terrible game wasn't worth my money the graphics weren't good at all loadedway to long and I only played it once and it started acting up I don't know who would enjoy the game.

Jan 27, 2016Great game if you enjoy watching loading screens and "can not connect to servers" screens. I have literally spent more time fighting the server connection and sitting through loading screens than I have spent playing the actual game.

Jan 24, 2016Once again another game where you have to pay for it more than once just to get the full benefits.
Come on Bungie we all know you got screwed over by Microsoft, but does that mean you have to screw the consumers over to make some money back? -

Jan 13, 2016So I decided to give Destiny another chance and bought this expansion. I regret paying $40 for this game. At most this game is worth half the retail price due to the lack of cinematic content. Relatively speaking the story is more coherent and their is much more humor then in the first very disappointing game in the series. Unfortunately I've lost interest after playing through the story campaign.

Dec 7, 2015The Taken King is a love letter to all Y1 players, providing content that has lasted me months of play. Bungie still has some work to do in this franchise, but overall this is a HUGE step forward from vanilla Destiny.

CD-ActionDec 16, 2015After the third expansion Destiny is the same “random loot generator” it has always been, just with some more story in between. [12/2015, p.62]

Official Xbox Magazine UKNov 9, 2015Always troubled but brilliant, now simply brilliant, Destiny has undergone an extraordinary change. It still demands your time, but the reward is one of Xbox's most well-rounded games. [Dec 2015, p.67]

Nov 2, 2015If you’re willing to do the social networking and accept the time commitment that Destiny requires to reach its endgame content, you’ll be treated to the first massively multiplayer online game built around the core of first-person shooter gameplay, a unique entry in the world of video games, and a growing universe where you and your fellow Guardians are all that stand between the Light, humanity’s last hope, and the Darkness that threatens to wipe us out forever.
