oh look, grind...grind grind grind for gear and stuff. Where is the significant development to the story? Still no idea who I am, how long my character has been dead, etc.. Anyway, Some parts are still fun and challenging and the raids and crucible are good. Overall I give this slightly above ho-hum that should have been with the game or a free dlc package.

With an intriguing premise and an interesting raid idea, the Dark Below addition to Destiny seemed promising. The campaign itself, whilst short, is indeed quite enjoyable however it suffers from the same flaw as the game itself: repetition. The campaign itself, whilst short, is indeed quite enjoyable however it suffers from the same flaw as the game itself: repetition. The constant wave after wave of enemies tires quickly and the light addition of a new vehicle does not ease the boredom. However, the new bounties available from Eris Morn, the new crucible maps and the new raid are where this DLC shines. The raid in particular is much more challenging (especially now they have released hard mode), requiring new tactics and a stronger team. The real problem with this addition is the price. £35 for the expansion pass or £20 for this one alone. For the short story, limited new gear and a few crucible maps this is a ridiculous price. One hopes that developers learn that not everyone is made of money and reduces the pricing for the next batches of DLC. Expand

Poorly conceived structures supporting too little new content mean this is, sadly, a great waste. [Feb 2015, p.86]

Short on content, and long on grinding, The Dark Below fails to meaningfully enhance the Destiny experience.

For 20 Euros I had expected another planet or at least a new region for one of the existing ones. But with the exception of the raid, this feels like somebody just started a random number generator in their lunch break.
