Destiny 2 or in reality's case, Destiny 1.5 is again one of the most grinding gaming experiences you'll have this year...

The Music is AMAZING, perhaps even better the second time around, but for some reason it reminds me of Halo in many cases, you'll have to listen to it to make the comparison.
The shooting mechanics are once again satisfying and fun to control, but again it has a very similar feeling to Halo and even feels rather recycled and reused from last time. But not that distracting.
The story is actually much more improved, containing actual interesting characters and they are actually memorable, hell I bought the game as soon as I could after Cayde-6's ad in which he's tutoring the three other guardians... You know which one it is.

    What it does wrong.
Like I mentioned before some mechanics and aspects are clearly copy pasted from Destiny 1.
The graphics look either the same at few points or worse most of the time, even Metro: Last Light, a game from 2013 looks way better. There's even this one texture that acts as a door for NPC's and it looks like absolute garbage. Also some of the planet's color palettes look very displeasing to the eyes.
GRINDIIIIIIIIING! It sucks too because the grind isn't as invasive as Destiny 1, but also why on earth do you just give away Exotics during the campaign? But you have to earn Legendaries?! Why couldn't they just switch those two? Legendaries are less rare than Exotics anyways. But this way the grind feels pointless if you're going to just whore out these epic weapons and armor.
What the hell was that ending!? The game ends after a very easy campaign, in which you can exploit the hunter Arcstrider's class (maybe they'll patch it later) to just destroy the last boss or ANY boss for that matter. Not only that but a new threat is revealed that SHOULD'VE been in this game but NOPE PAY another 20-30$ for the our new DLC! GIVE ME MONEY. It wouldn't even be a problem if the game earned it but it didn't! DLC should add on to a game, not fill in the blanks. So you got to pay more for the full experience, I ALREADY PAID 60$!

But with all that said I'm still putting in hours to this game, looking for ways to find Exotics and Legendaries. I've spent almost 60 hours in the game, I may hate it from some angles or on a bad day but if I could spend that much time in a game... Then it must be doing something right. I also don't want to be too harsh to the game because it has many redeeming qualities so a 7 is what it's gonna get.

This game is NOT a good game. The story is bad, The gunplay feels like cod, and the game has a playtime of like 20 Hours and feels VERY stretched. This isn't a 20€ indie game, its a AAA 60€+ game. This is hilarious.

End-game content is also very rewarding and fun especially with friends!

This game is a cash grab. I've seen more content at launch in a free-to-play game. It is in no way, shape or form worth $60 in its current state. Wait for a sale or when it gets bundled with the inevitable DLC packs. Again, this is not worth $60. It's barely worth $20.

These games are made for the stupid... Sorry to offend people who bought it but it's true lol. Hear me out...

Micro transactions. Corporate greed. More money that they don't need. Many companies that work harder don't do this crap... But companies like crapdivision like to do it because they are super greedy and don't give a crap about how great of a video game experience you will have. Nothing says EF you to the customer more than this. A system designed to pressure suckers into wasting money.

The developers only have so much precious time to work on the game in order to make it better and better. A game is only as good as how much work goes into it for the most part. They could be spending ALL of their time making it as good as possible but what do they do instead? They cut out a huge chunk of their time in order to implement a scam your wallet system. This isn't for the gamers... You're an insane idiot if you think that... Wake up! It's for corporate gains. Which means this is a game with no heart. No soul. It was designed to trick stupid people into thinking it's good while ripping them off big time. This isn't a matter of opinion. It's a fact that it's not a very impressive shooter compared to the greats I listed above and it's clearly designed to rip you off and pressure you into wasting more and more money on stuff that's only worth while to idiots with tiny brains/low standards. If you are one of these suckers then you seriously need to stop buying these games...

And don't give me that "I love the game and never bought micro transactions"

1... You're a idiot so of course you would love something mediocre/terrible.

And 2... Even if you're telling the truth about not buying micro transactions (I don't believe you because you're a moron who's into this game in the first place)....... But if you are being truthful... Think to yourself right now... Think hard about something that I'm going to ask you here...

Have you ever saw a micro transaction and felt some what tempted to buy it? The answer will be yes. As you grind and grind and grind senselessly whilst bored as hell... You're going to get a feeling that tells you that if you buy micro transactions, your grind will be shortened. Of course you're going to feel that way. That's what this system does. It's designed to tempt you into doing something that's totally not worth it. And that's what's wrong with it...

It's a dirty trick and only idiots fall for it. Sadly most gamers are idiots which is why micro transactions are super popular in video games today. It's bad enough just about all of our multiplayer games are getting screwed like this... But it's happening to single player games too. The new Shadow of War will have them. How lame is that? DLC is bad enough as it's usually over priced weak sauce that should have come with the game. But micro transactions are really pushing it as they can cost you close to thousands if you go overboard like a idiot. My advice? Ignore games like this altogether... Besides... No micro transaction game EVER falls into the category of greats like ocarina of time, chrono trigger, smash bros melee, metal gear solid, star craft 1 etc etc... Why play a dumb ass over priced micro transaction game that's mediocre at best when you could be playing the best of the best? You know deep down that you're not missing out when you pass up a game like theftiny poo.

Lets talk about the game play... Many shooters take a bit of skill to master. The good players can pull off some impressive stuff from time to time. You see that in shooters like the older ones. Quake, counter strike, halo ce... YOU DON'T see that in crap like Theftiny poo. In theftiny poo you see high auto aim, bullet magnetism, and super powers that any scrub can get good at abusing. The skill gap isn't that high. It's a game for dude bros. It's not for the skilled. It's for cod kids lol.

The story... Part 1 didn't have a story and this one does but it's corny, short, and not interesting. The only good thing about it is a few jokes I guess but you shouldn't buy a game like this for its story. You can watch that for free on youtube.

Content is low as crap. People beating the game in just a few hours and then what's left to do? Grind grind grind... Yawn...

Maybe it gets to about a 7 out of 10 once all the DLC is released one day but at that point the game is massively over priced. It's already overpriced as it is. It's not even a expansion lol. I seen free games offer more than this haha! So I give it a 3 out of 10 for being the scum of gaming. Games like this are what's making new video games these days fail miserably.

Same exact modes as before except in PvP, which seems to be where the devs put all their focus during development. Supers recharge slow, characters move slow. Recycled enemies and most of the guns models are exactly the same as Destiny 1, just with a new coat of paint. Hope you're not a shotgun lover because Bungie has messed up the weapon slots for the sake of PvP (they're special weapons now) It feels like a step backwards. A lazy, lazy step backwards.

Wait for the "Collection" or "Complete" edition.

Destiny 1.5 mega DLC priced as new game. Delivered a nice campaign but your speechless guardian ruins the entire story and makes you look retarded. The reuse of guns, enemies, sounds, etc is so ridiculously obvious. Fan boys and new guardian will love it, everybody who has played the first one and a bit critical will hate it.

While I find this game is not a 10/10 I would give it a solid 8 rating. The gameplay is fun, the classes are fun and I enjoyed the major storyline a lot. And they have upped their game from the original by a lot.

Public events are probably my favorite addition. Anyone can participate at any level which is great. Having free scaling across the board allows for more people to participate and for the world to feel more full of players. I do however wish that there were different public events in each location instead of the same one over and over again. It would be way more interesting to go to a public event and be unsure of which one was about to occur. Maybe this is the case in other event locations, however the ones I have done have been the same one in the same place over and over again. This would probably help with the grindy feeling once max level is achieved.

My current complaints that stop this rating from being higher is that I feel like the game's story was cut short for expansion releases. It could have gone a little further. I'm also not much of a fan of microtransactions. While D2 makes microtransactions mainly on cosmetic appearances, I feel a little upset at how Bungie has made sure these microtransactions will stay. They achieved this by making shaders one time use.

One of the plus points is that shaders now be applied to single pieces of gear as to entire armor sets. However combined with making shaders one time use, in order to apply to all pieces you would need multiples of the same shader to color your gear all one color. Combine this with the current gear system and I feel like I shouldn't use ANY shaders because of how quickly I am gearing up and replacing things every 10 minutes.

Also, item pick-ups, reputation and glimmer are a small problems to me as well. Items found within the game may be turned into various NPCs to get rep that award engrams for each rep level gained. I however feel like spending these items for rep is a complete waste of time until you are max level and a higher power level. Glimmer I feel like there is nothing to spend it on as well. I'm constantly capped on glimmer and randomly spending it on treasure maps and random mods that I refuse to apply to my weapons until I hit a higher power level and know I won't be replacing that weapon for a longer period of time.

Much like enchants and gems in world of warcraft, I don't want to waste resources until I know I'll be holding onto that gear for longer than 15 minutes.

One last suggestion that would be beneficial would be to add map markers for dropped chests, or a way to scan and search for high priority targets maybe. I find myself seeing the notification on the screen and being completely unsure where to go. Multiple times I have found the target as they were leaving and was unable to kill them quick enough! :(

I hope that Bungie continues to improve this franchise and expand upon it.

The new progression and reward system dosen´t make any sens to me. The mechanics are just so simple and boring that i have no motivation to play Destiny 2 all week. The weekly milestones (Destiny 2 new end game progression/reward system) are done just in 1 day, maybe 2 if you have not enough time to do the raid as well. And then you have nothing to do beside of leveling an new character. There are way too less things that reward me to keep me up playing Destiny.
Yeah compared to vanilla Destiny Destiny 2 is a lot better, but Destiny 1 was just a mess when it releases back in 2014 soooo yeah...
i don´t get it why Bungie changed all these things! Destiny 1 expansion TTK and Iron Banner had such a great impact with the progression and reward system and was soooo much fun to play and leveling up your gear. But it is all gone!

Destiny 2 is a great game for beginners who are interested to joine the universe, but for competitive and hardcore players like me this sequel ist just a joke. I played now 36hourse and im so bored and burned out that i will leave Destiny 2 till the PC release.

It was very short, boring and doesn't give you any interest in any of the characters whatsoever. This time however, its the other way round. The campaign in this new instalment is definitely an improvement from the first one. The characters are more interesting (and funny), starring Nolan North as the Guardian (big fan of his work), but the gunplay feels smoother, it is less repetitive and it has a much more engaging narrative and amazing graphics. So what is it that really lets this game down for me? The multiplayer. This is a big factor for me because once I complete the story I will be ready to spend the rest of my time with this game on the multiplayer like I did in the first Destiny as I did not give a s**t about the story. Unfortunately for me, that was simply NOT the case. When playing the open beta I was not impressed with the multiplayer. Was it the imbalanced classes, the boring game modes, the short and boring rounds or the broken mechanics such as the class abilities or the stiff turning controls? It was all of them! Though I still went and bought the game mainly for the campaign and because I though that this was just the beta stages of the multiplayer. I knew there would be more maps, classes and game modes which it does offer but all the problems are still there. All of the classes are very imbalanced with some being overpowered and others being underpowered (for example the Hunter is OP while the new Warlock is very underpowered). The entire game itself is a combination of Call of Duty Infinite Warfare and Halo 5. I hated Infinite Warfare and if you did than you will not enjoy this. I did enjoy Halo 5 however. In the first Destiny there was something in the multiplayer that made these two combinations work, with this game however it feels very wrong. Is it because of the futuristic entries into the COD series we've been getting such as Infinite Warfare or was it the disappointment with Halo 5. I could spend an hour of your time saying everything that is wrong or doesn't work in the multiplayer in detail, but to summarise it, it is average at best and boring, frustrating and imbalanced at worst. And for some reason the gunplay in the singleplayer feels really good, even when you team up with other players, but in the multiplayer, the Warlocks guns for example are P-Shooters. Either that or the enemies I fight are bullet sponges. When I say the multiplayer is frustrating its in times such as when I get killed by an enemy I should've killed because I started shooting them first with most of my bullets landing on their body. They obviously had more armour than I did, but with a better gun at the same time that is capable at getting headshots easier, which is probably why they were able to retaliate and kill me, but like I said the classes and weapons are so imbalanced and the abilities are so inconsistent. Overall I would not recommend buying this game just for the multiplayer unless you love the futuristic shooters such as Infinite Warfare, than I would say yes, but wait. If you wanna buy this game for the single player, even then I wouldn't recommend it. As much as I enjoyed this games campaign, it was annoying how you must always be connected to the internet even when you just want to play solo. That was the same problem that the original Destiny had. The campaign is about no more than 10 hours long. If you wanna buy this game for the single player than I suggest wait a couple of months for a couple of price drops, than you should pick it up as it is definitely worth paying attention to unlike the first destiny. It seems that the game got almost everything right with the single player improving from the original in almost every way, but they just ruined the multiplayer for me. The multiplayer in the first Destiny was not perfect but was very fun and enjoyable. I am disappointed how instead of taking everything good about the original Destiny's multiplayer and make it better, they almost completely f**ked it up, but at least flag capture was untouched, which is good because its my favourite in this game but bad because I wished they would've improved on it because I found it only decent in the first Destiny. I just hope that either they make some major changes to the multiplayer throughout the course of next year or that Destiny 3 will do everything they did right with the multiplayer from Destiny 1 and not like Destiny 2 and that the campaign is just as good as it is here, because so far, once I fully finish the campaign, this is a game that I will forget about a couple of weeks later until either I trade it in or until the multiplayer is reworked. If it is, then I may do a re-review and re-evaluate my opinion on the multiplayer because so far I am NOT impressed what so ever. This game is definitely another disappointment just like the original but in the opposite way. Expand

The raid can easily be beaten in 2 hours start to finish with a decent group, as long as you have the right gear. I beat the raid on my first try in 5 hours and now usually beat it in a hour and a half if all goes well. Its pretty easy since there is only one boss, that's right one. All the other phases are mazes or things your fireteam does as a unit just while clearing tons of ads. So your literally taking down groups of infantry with a few yellow elites thrown in here and there the whole raid till you finally hit Calus. It does make for good loot however the prestige raid loot is not worth it at all. That's the only reason I'm not giving it a 10. I was really hoping it would do more to make the raid more difficult as well as give better rewards. Then again day one destiny 2 beats the stank off of vanilla destiny 1. Expand

I hit the max level of 20 about a week and maybe 15-20 hours of gameplay. I went between the side missions and main story missions and played a few Crucible (PvP) games too.

So far I am REALLY enjoying the game. There is TONS to do with the Director system giving you ideas of what to do to earn better gear to get to the end game raid. I have a ton of side mission quests that there's probably 30 hours more just doing those. Plus the Strikes and PvP means LOTS of things to do.

The gameplay is smooth and the graphics are awesome. I do wonder if the game will get stale in the long run but you get more than your money's worth compared to other shooters with hours and hours of gameplay value. I still would rather have more NPC's standing around giving quests that just a banner sitting there but hey it's a small complaint.

Sick game. Never played number one so I was going on the advice of others that I'd enjoy it and I am not disappointed. The gun play is as good as I've experienced.

The campaign story was pretty crap, but the actual levels are amazing. So much fun squadding up with the crew and tackling this game. Just hitting the end game stuff now, so can't comment too much on the longevity of the game

This is a supremely fun MMO FPS. I just wanted to point out two observations i've made after having similar feelings to some of those who left at least thought out negative reviews.

First, there isn't a level cap. I, too, thought it was pretty easy to hit 20 and felt kind of cheated out of a long level grind, but as it turns out getting to level 20 is not the 'main' leveling system.

'Light Level' is the real level system and that doesn't have a cap at all. I'm currently a light level 230 at 35 hours into the game, and there are game features that don't even get unlocked until light level 300! So leveling is an endless effort. I really want to do the leviathan raid but I have to get up to light level 270!

This leads me to my second point, in terms of options of what to do, my first ten hours in I thought, "This is fun, but it could get old real fast. Public events could get boring and often times I don't see people."

This is the tricky thing about Destiny 2. They are A LOT of play options. Strikes, Raids, Nightfall, Public events, Faction quests (good quests, not "find three of these"), Patrols, Clans, fun and diverse multiplayer, lost sectors, and we haven't even gotten into all the loot yet!

So why are people saying there aren't a lot of options? Well, Destiny only slowly reveals these things to you over time as you progress through the game, so just when you start to think you've seen pretty much everything and there isn't a lot left new to do, they hit you with 5 milestones, a new planet, new play features.

Basically what I'm saying is, getting to lvl 20 does take a little time, and it's a great way to get familiar with the game and to start to explore it's content, but that's really only the introduction to the game. Some may remember in WoW, how you have to reach level 10 before you can do certain things or go certain places, it's similar to that.

Hitting level 20 literally unlocks so many more features I was running around like a kid in a candy store, I couldn't believe it.

I'll easily put over a 100 hours into Destiny 2, and thats my personal benchmark for a good game of this scale.

In terms of style, this game is a blend of Doom and it's chaotic, swarming fights, Borderlands for it's loot, design, and humor, and Halo, because this is bungie and you can clearly see recycled halo elements in this game. Now, this game may not be the absolute best at any one of these things when compared against industry leaders, but the BLEND of all three is just right, and that's an achievement all on it's own.

    Thanks for reading!

Pros: - Gameplay is more refined than D1 (which was already amazing) - The Worlds/Areas just suck you in. It has a Skyrim/Fallout feel where you try to get from A - B which should take a minute, but you end up zigzagging your way around all the things to do - Still as addictive as ever Negatives: - Do not like 4v4 Crucible, BRING BACK 6V6

There's a very short and boring story to play through featuring some characters from the original game, unfortunately they're not enough to save it even for die hard destiny fans as this game falls on the same mistakes as its predecessor, once you've finished the story all you have to look forward to is some linear fps action and grinding for gear similar to what you'd see in Gearboxes's game Borderlands, the endgame leaves you with few options such as Strikes which features 4 different areas on planets and a boss in hopes of getting better loot to increase your light level, The Crucible which puts players against each other in PvP combat and awards loot randomly not based on player performance at least from what i can see. Destiny 2 also has public events which are small events on a set planet taking around 5-15 minutes the events usually consist of killing certain in game mini bosses or destroying supplies. Patrols are objectives like scouting an area or killing enemies to collect drops not really offering much for rewards. Once a certain gear or Light level is a attained one of the only ways to increase it is to complete the games milestones which reset every week on Monday and can be completed in just a few hours with little effort before the player is forced to wait another week to progress any further. All in all Destiny 2 offers some decent visuals but the gameplay is a grind to get through followed by the repetitive grind required to progress any further i found it entertaining for about a day then it just got boring. It's like opening a store with only two items to buy in it. It's pointless to even enter unless you NEED it.

What disappoints me the most about Destiny 2 is that it is one of those games that gets better with time. It's been almost a year and we've gotten the second, SECOND DLC and it still feels like the same lackluster game since release. I personally got kicked out of at least 10 clans for inactivity because I would stop playing Destiny 2 for periods of time from being burnt out.

After you beat the campaign and all the little side missions that don't do a whole lot for you. You can complete weekly activities every week. Mind you, these are the same activities EVERY week with maybe minor changes in constraints depending on what it is. There is no way to keep a fanbase around if you expect them to rinse and repeat the same content every week.

As for the DLCs, dont even bother. Both of them are a waste of money. As they do offer new cosmetics, weapons, etc. They still lack the magic word of this review; content. For example, the raid of the first DLC takes place in the same place as the base game raid. I beat both DLCs combined in roughly 5 hours including the raids. The rewards aren't even that satisfactory to keep you coming back like Destiny had me coming back for the Vault of Glass.

Critics will lie to you, I wont. Destiny 2 looks beautiful, but that's where the green grass stops growing. If you want a game that will keep shoving the same content in your face every week with the inclusion of DLC and microtransactions then Destiny 2 is right up your alley. I am personally disappointed in the sequel to what did become a good with time. Destiny 2 however, I feel will have a darker fate. Bungie has let me down for the last time.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ok. Here goes. Before I start I would say this - I have spent hundreds of hours playing Destiny 1, I got myself all the DLC for D1 and with the exception of last one (the rise of iron) I enjoyed them equally and consider it worth my money. Stepping into D2 I was excited which later turned into frustration as it would seem that Bungie did not learn anything from D1 and went on its task to reinvent the wheel from the start:
1.) Shooting mechanics and gameplay - these guys made halo and have already proved themselves in terms of gun play. No issues here at all Bungie. This might be your only saving grace.
2.) Story – You have at least 4 major plots to cover (one for each race of enemies) and then there is the big question of the big balloon hanging in the sky (the traveler). The pace at which you are telling us the story, you are going to run out of time and sequels to finish them up. Example: Using D2 to introduce new chars – Garry and his cabal dogs (btw they are the only new enemy type in D2) and a completely new story that asks more questions than it answers. Do we know more about the traveler now? No we don’t. Where are the Vex from, what do they want, how are they so powerful? Why have the Fallen’s united , Variks & Crow what are they upto ? and don’t for a second think that you are done with Hive / Taken. The Taken King DLC did explain a lot (thanks to Mylin & Byf) but you have again left the story hanging with lot of questions than answers. You guys need to make your story coherent and give it some depth, char development etc. Of all your mistakes, incoherent story, is the biggest one and it reflects in all your side plots as well –
DESIGN THE STORY & GAMEPLAY IN SUCH A WAY THAT IT MAKES THE PLAYER ASK MEANINGFUL QUESTIONS LIKE - WHO IS THIS COOL LOOKING EXO? HOW DOES SHE KNOW SO MUCH? WHAT IS SHE GUARDING? WHO IS SHE TALKING TO ON THE COMM. LINK? HOW CAN SHE TELEPORT FROM ANYWHERE? HOW IS SHE CONNECTED TO THE TRAVELER?
And then your answer: THE EXO STRANGER THANKS THE PLAYER FOR FIGHTING THE BAD GUYS AND GIVES THE PLAYER HER RIFLE. THAN DISAPPEARS , FOREVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am telling you Bungie you do not have enough time to warp up important story lines let alone the sub plots (I count 15 so far). We are two sequels and five paid DLCs down and you still haven’t told us anything. Every sequel / DLC introduces a new sub plot (yes I am calling the story of D2 a sub plot) that distracts from the main story and does not answer any of important questions we had from D1. We can have major plot related questions and still have fresh content – a DLC where the guardian take a journey inside the Traveler. Osiris DLC could have been used to answer questions about the VEX, it could have told us how they as a species got involved in all this, why worship the darkness. Instead you introduced a new boss and new story for Mercury. Osiris is a most powerful warlock that will go to any lengths to get results (in this case saving humanity), but in the end you made him look like some old hobo who does not care for any of this and in the end goes on a pilgrimage into the VEX gate to explore new world, with no information on VEX shared with the vanguard. He even says to his ghost in the end of DLC that “……..we have all the time in the world”, I get VEX alternate timeline & time travel and all crap, but is that the kind of tempo you want to build up as a narrative telling your player base that there is no urgency and you have all the time in the world. BTW no raid in this DLC, Raid layer does not qualify as new content.

You walk those corridors for minutes and eventually something might happen but most time, nothings happens. Well your "ghost" tells you things on the way, but also very rarely. Sometimes you can't even see a thing and you must guess where the way is (thx to HDR not even increasing the gamma level helps in these areas).

Worst of all, there are campaign missions that send to to the same place you just left and walked minutes to get there. And than you see the same areas again but with more of the same enemies.

Yes the design of the areas is interesting, but it all means nothing if there is no interaction with anything and nothing to do than just to walk through.

Another thing is, this game requires a server connection, which is really strange, because the count of players you can meet is really restricted. And if you loose your connection right before the end of a campaign mission (and you walked a lot for that) you must restart the mission as soon as you have your connection back. And that happens far to often for a game that requires those servers. I really don't understand why they need the server-connection, because you are always in an instance hosted by your (or another players) console. The server should just be required for the initial player-connection (lobby) and the "city" (where you can "interact" with some more players but not mmo-like) but nothing more.

Story-wise it is better than Destiny 1. Now it seems that your actions actually matter, but it is still more of the same. No attachment to any character, no characters you can build on, nothing personal, …
Yes there is a dull story now but well… there is really nothing that can be spoiled.

The first thing that comes to my mind is how the strikes are 100% USELESS. Next to the raid, the best way to get gear in Destiny 1 was doing strikes. In D2, strikes are completely pointless. They will take you about 20 minutes to do and they reward you with one or two rares and a few tokens. Sometimes you can get a legendary or even an exotic from the chest - odds are low. But, get this. There are also public events that you can do. They take 5 minutes and give you a rare or two and a token and have the chance to give you a legendary or an exotic... So, public events take 1/3rd the time of the strike and reward you about the same. WHAT IS THE POINT IN DOING THE STRIKES. Then, the amount of duplicate gear you get is downright disgusting. In D2, they made legendaries and exotics easier to get than in D1. The problem with this is that you will get so. many. duplicates. You put in all this work just to get rewarded with something you got 5 times before. There is no sense of accomplishment.

Now, the story is there and it is better than D1's. Not hard to accomplish that feat. The story is okay at the most - very repetitive. You will likely be pleased the first time around, but if you're planning on making three characters then doing the story will be a nightmare. There is no re-playablity in it. You're better off running around and doing public events FOR 5 HOURS to get to 20.

Easily the biggest disappointment in 2017. There really is no good endgame here. I will not touch on the raid because I haven't done it. IMO, save your money or wait until a couple expansions come out before considering to buy. The game could have been a DLC for the first game and no one would be complaining one bit about it.

Here's Destiny 2 which is the same crap with a small story campaign that has no direction. Really what is the basis for Destiny? What is the point of what these Guardians do? They're just Guardians for the sake of being Guardians?? This series could have been so much more than this ****

Really Disappointed in this series and it has lost its chance to redeem itself after 2 attempts.

There is no real reason for me to be interested in Destiny 3. Bungie try something else so back to the drawing board.

Luke Smith, the game's director, said in the spring that he doesn't want Destiny to be a "time sink," which is why Destiny 2 feels as though it was built for the casual player. Those complaining about it are those who have thousands of hours into the first Destiny. And, you're probably asking yourself "How can anyone play a game that long without getting bored?" Well, because Destiny had elements that made the rewards different each time, giving a false sense of added content. But, it worked. Static rolls in Destiny 2 to help control balance changed this, making every duplicate weapon or piece of armor that you get worthless. Yes; you get legendary shards for dismantling them, but you'll soon realize that you have more than you know what to do with.

In short, the content of Destiny 2 is great; and, there actually is a story. What a shock. But, there is no lasting incentive for people to keep playing. There simply is no end game and, eventually, no reason to play.

    Pros:
    - The Story is fantastic. They nailed the narrative feel and structure with the campaign. The Red War is an epic quest that really drew me in from the first minute I powered the game on.
    - Mechanically, the game works really well. There aren't any major game-crashing glitches, not that i've seen. ( I have played 152 hours).
    - PVP and Matchmaking function and are fun to play, if you're playing with the right people.
    Bad:
    - The Endgame. Once you beat the story and hit level 20, the endgame feels... pointless, honestly. There are many fun things to do, and doing them for the fun of doing them is great, but the rewards don't always meet the effort. Iron Banner gear is great, but it's also exceedingly frustrating to grind for it for a whole week and still NOT GET ONE OF THE ARMOR PIECES AFTER OPENING 52 ENGRAMS. #notbitter.
    - PVP Variety: 4v.4 is great for pacing, and in the mechanics that they're using I understand why they went that way, but playing only 4v4 gets stale. 6v6 or 8v8 playlists for variety would be GREAT.

Ultimately, I love this game and this franchise, and I'm going to stick with it. I know not everyone will, but I think the game deserves a fair shake. Bungie is listening to the criticisms and is actively planning and implementing adjustments based on our feedback. That's the kind of developer relation we need in this industry, and I think we should try to encourage that behavior in any way possible.

This game is good but sadly doesn't live up to the original. In Destiny we had a RPG, now I don't really know; Destiny had iconic weapons and the only people who played for more than a week were the competitive players. Still bungie tries to bring in "Casual" gamers when the only people who play the game are the competitive ones.

Okay, first I'm going to say what I did not like about Destiny 2 and then what I did like.

First thing I didn't like about this game was the dlc. It was such a good concept which was just rushed to get more money. I think that I could have been so much more. Second, replay ability. The thing which I loved about the first Destiny was that I actually wanted to play the game over and over.

Now positive things. This game's story was so much better than the first, it took me completely by surprise. Thank you Bungi and Activision. Another thing is the visuals of this game are stunning and quite less bland than the first game (although some things are recycled).

To the people who complain about similarities between this game and the first. Just because that is the case, this game does not deserve a 4.3 user score just. it feels so much more complete than the first Destiny without any add-ons. I feel sad about the hate. No game is perfect and just because you thought this game would be perfect doesn't mean you can just rate it 0*.

Don't get me wrong, Destiny 2 is a great game and is in my top 10 games of 2017 and one of my favorite games that Bungie has produced, (only to the Halo games. But It doesn't seem original and a straight rip off of the 1st game with a colour change, more weapons, and a few more bosses. Also this game as more microtransactions which is never a good sign.

I had over 1500 hours in Destiny 1. It is now July 2018 and i haven't played Destiny 2 since March. The campaign was short, but sweet. It included the much needed story sorely lacking from the original however Ghaul (the main protagonist) has a side story that does little to advance the main story arc. Beyond the campaign there is actually initially very little to do. The PvP has been ripped to bits. Curse of the Osiris came out and was very substandard, Warmind followed a few months later and whilst it certainly added some much needed content AND a worthwhile grind there was ultimately still little to do. Destiny 2 is currently riding a wave of negativity that Bungie has never seen the likes of.
Bungie even admitted to all their fans that as players we are better off waiting till this fall to play the game. To not have faith in your own franchise is extremely damaging.
The fall update looks impressive, but ill wait for reviews to commit again. I would love an excuse to play Destiny again. Till then, you're better off with Warframe.

the story is only marginally better than the best game of destiny 1, but thats not saying much. they recycled the same subclasses and reskinned new ones from the previous ones, painting a shamefully pathetic image that they did something new when they didnt.

the loot is garbage and the exotics are sub par in feel and look. all the bosses are reskinned in each missions, and all of the same enemy factions from the previous game are back, yet nothing new is even added to them except a couple new weapons and thats it.

destiny 2 is a lazy reboot of a cancelled expansion by bungie, they thought they could ride into the sunset with minimal effort put into this game, and they failed miserably. they had three years of feedback from destiny 1, and they threw all of that out the window because they only thought of profits and know they can abuse their fanbase without any sort of hard repercussions.

That being said i shouldn't have to buy DLC and expansion packs to have a good time with this game. Some armor you unlock at light level 100, looks the same as light level 200. The loot is supposed to be unique, not the same thing with a different light level. It's uninspiring, boring, it's **** I'm also aware that the 'Curse of Osiris' expansion offered so little in content it is unbelievable. Also, locking things from DLC behind the eververse is pathetic. The content from DLC that YOU the consumer spent money on, is locked behind another pay wall. This game is laughable. Is it fun to play PvP, kill some bad guys, and look somewhat cool? Yes for a few minutes. With the new weapon slot changes they effectively made 90% of my heavy weapons useless. This is not how you make good games. You don’t make a good game by taking things away from players after they’ve been using them for a year.. you don’t make a good game by completely changing the rules half way through its lifespan. And, yes, I’ve heard they did this with D1, but I had the good fortune of getting tired of D1 within a month of its release. With no one on my friends list to play it with and no way to matchmake for raids or strikes I had exhausted that game within 1 months time and sold it. D2 comes around and I have more friend playing it. More features to make it easier to group up and actually get things done in the game. A lot of solid improvements overall from D1’s launch, but as time goes on I see more and more how lost Bungie is with this game. A company that has no concept of basic rpg gameplay or mechanics. They keep throwing things at the wall hoping things will stick, but the only good things that stick are little flakes of gold stuck in handfuls of cow dung. This is a break up letter to what was once one of the greatest game developers, Good by, Bungie. Your only destiny is to fade away. Never again. Expand

Destiny 2 still fails to live up to the studios behind it.

To preface: I've been a fan of Destiny ever since (2012?) where I saw the art for the Titan subclass, ever then I excitedly awaited the release of Destiny 1, and while Destiny 1 had its flaws, it's the first year was some of the most fun and memorable times I've had playing a video game. The same cannot be said for this game.

While Destiny 2 has an actual story compared to Destiny 1 that had none. It still just falls back on an exciting and interesting first 30 mins then falls into mediocrity, as it relies on cliches, touches on interesting concepts and ideas that you'd expect from watching the trailers (At least the D1 trailers, D2 relies on the Call of Duty like way of storytelling.) but this game never is confident enough to go deep into interesting themes, and rarely likes to have our characters weak. And while this review is mainly for the base game, the Forsaken DLC story has the same issue, first 30 mins are amazing and emotional than just drop and die.

That's kind of the issue with Destiny, it seems like so much more than it is. You want it to be a World of Warcraft like SCI-FI MMO, while it can deliver on the SCI-FI part, the MMO? Not so much. Destiny 2 (in its current state 9/3/2019 and it still was as boring during launch) is a weakly cobbled mess. There's little incentive to do anything anymore, you rarely need the best exotic gear to defeat a boss, just pick a loadout from this range of Subclass and a massive handful of weapons and you're ready to go! Which isn't really a bad thing, I actually enjoy not having to have one of two rocket launchers to let me raid with people (A feature of Destiny 1's DLC) But there's no incentive to do the raids, there's no incentive to anything really besides FASHION. As the gear you obtain will scale with you to the max, you don't need to beat the hardest challenges to become the strongest level. You just need to play enough. This game will hand you out items like Christmas, hiding away other more unique weapons behind long, (which is sometimes bad) and sometimes needlessly long quests. They vary in how pointless they are, with some being fun to do and others being a needlessly long slog, I'm all up for a challenge, just not intentionally wasting my time grinding a boring activity, which is what Destiny 2 becomes in the end.

If you're new, you'll have plenty to do. It'll be fun, and cool and exploring Destiny 2's environments will be so cool and fun, getting exotics and legendaries will feel like a blast! Then you reach the max light and the game becomes a grind, there's no reason to keep playing besides fashion, any loot you want is too easily accessible (not saying it's EASY to get, it's just TOO for how hard it should be) The game incentivizes grinding through it's challenges and loot systems which is why I am writing this review, this is my fourth time I've been burnt out from this game. And won't be playing it again until Shadowkeep comes out, just for me to get bored of that as well.

Best Abusive Relationship I've Ever Been In.

Seriously, I'm at the point where Destiny 2 has me emotionally drained. The moment I hit A to load up Character Select I feel all emotion and drive ripped from my heart and soul because I know I'm just making futile progress that is going to get pushed back in 3 months and hard-reset come next year. It's exhilarating to feel my head cloud up with this apathetic nothingness as I throw myself back down to the soil to farm for shiny purple and yellow candy. All jokes aside, Destiny 2 has one of the worst, most gaslighting gameplay loops in the history of the gaming industry. I don't doubt that Bungie wanted to make something good, but I laugh with boastful incredulity at anyone that says they are still making something good.

Easily the most despicable and draconian of the Gear Score Loot Shooters, Destiny 2 exists as an Uroboros that is constantly sunsetting more content then it bothers to offer up. With occasional filler content that floods the Vanguard Playlist to make up for the utter lack of Strikes and a PvP that has been a rotting carcass since launch, yet somehow dictates the developers' actions 100%, Destiny 2 may as well be called Destiny 2050. Bungie constantly and consistently pumps nothing but temporary content that gets worse and worse by the season, ironically improving their storytelling as their ability to actually develop fun things to do deteriorates. It's honestly a miracle that this game isn't dead already because better games have turned to dust over lighter crimes against their communities than Destiny 2 commits on a weekly basis.

Bungie is nothing but a name at this point and it isn't a name you should bother sticking around for. Their content quality is going the way of SOE, even if we don't have a particular figure to really blame for it yet. The continued persistence of the player population seems to be out of a genuine love for this universe, it's just a shame that Bungie has proven time and time again that they can't deliver on Destiny's potential.

Insanely grindy and repetitive. Zero incentive to play after a little while as the game becomes unbearably boring

Destiny 2 really could have been great. At first glance, it looks like a glimmering, smooth as butter shooter with some MMORPG mechanics providing longevity. That's what it appears to be for the first couple hours. Then you start noticing how repetitive the enemies are, and how incredibly generic everything about the world is. Then you visit another planet and it feels like a repainted version of the other planet. You quickly start collecting loot that is almost identical to your existing gear, except with a couple stat numbers increased. PvE is an agonizing mindless grind, like eating stale Cheetos for some meager satisfaction when you have nothing else to eat, but it leaves a nasty taste in your mouth. PvP is a laughably unbalanced joke maybe included to appease Halo fans expecting something much different from the once great developer Bungie. Destiny appears to be many things, but appearances can be deceiving. The planets you explore are very pretty, but so linear. Most locations are like the most simplistic three-lane Call of Duty map design, scaled out by a thousand. Exploration is very linear. The lore, plot, and sense of atmosphere, are extremely thin, and lacking any soul. I would summarize this online-only game by saying that is a solid 6 to 8 hours of free entertainment, until you start gagging on the stale repetitive gameplay, and refuse to be strung along by this barebones game covered in glitter (or glimmer)… Also, the first 30 minutes are so similar to the original Destiny, that I honestly thought I had accidentally loaded up the first Destiny. What's wrong with people not liking this game. It's the same team that made Halo and if you're a fan of that, you will love D2. The way you control your character is absolutely fantastic and smooth. The weapons are awesome and armor cool. It is just so vast universe. You can either play entirely PvE or you can choose PvP. And the environments are gorgeous. Love it, love it, love it.

Gastaras mucho y recibiras poco a cambio.

Destiny 2 deserves a 2/10 mainly due to microtranstions and greedy devs. To many "DLCS"

Don’t let Destiny 2 being “free” fool you. What is available for free is akin to a demo. You have to sink hundreds of dollars into the game to get what is considered to be the full experience. The game is very niche, chances are if you play the demo, you will know right away whether or not Destiny 2 is for you.

With all that said, there is a lot of content available in the game if you do

With all that said, there is a lot of content available in the game if you do pay for all the expansions. There are potentially hundreds of hours in it for the player. Raids and cooperative content are where this game really shines, so if that sounds appetizing to you then I’d say the game will be worth the hefty toll. Overall, it’s really one of those games where you have to decide for yourself if it’s worth it.

Great live service looter shooter. PvP sandbox is not in the best shape (was better before). But is still fun to play.

I'm pretty sure that I'm addicted to crucible and everything I have is somehow based off of crucible. Actual game wise it's alright, great concept, good weapons, and I only have played hunter, haven't created a single other character.

    * Perderam a mão no enredo do game.....

I was surprised by how much this new incarnation of Destiny appealed to me. New worlds are brilliantly designed, sound and visuals are top notch, combat feels great (those headshots!). This is how the first Destiny should have looked. [12/2017, p.50]

Destiny 2 is more accessible to the neophytes than the first game was, but still complex enough to get long-time players to invest hundreds of hours in the universe. The story of the campaign is less confused than in the original, but it’s not exactly good either. It went from painstakingly bad to ordinary, which is at least an improvement. Destiny 2 is the gaming equivalent of a Michael Bay movie.

Destiny 2 is one of the most enjoyable games I’ve played this year, and tackles one of the biggest issues with the first game. Featuring a stellar, albeit easy, single-player campaign, excellent combat and class mechanics, and the most enjoyable cooperative multiplayer I’ve seen in a shooter since Gears of War 4, Destiny 2 is a must-buy.
