    Tequila Works are really passionate about the game, and that's great. One thing I totally love about 'indie' developers is their passion, and it comes through in every moment of Deadlight. Sure, there might be a few dodgy voices and some overacting, but it's a zombie apocalypse and we're allowed some of that - see Resident Evil for example. They couldn't just rest on their laurels whenTequila Works are really passionate about the game, and that's great. One thing I totally love about 'indie' developers is their passion, and it comes through in every moment of Deadlight. Sure, there might be a few dodgy voices and some overacting, but it's a zombie apocalypse and we're allowed some of that - see Resident Evil for example. They couldn't just rest on their laurels when they delivered Deadlight to some fairly OK reviews, nope, they've been turning their hand to improving the game's longevity, challenge, and adding new content. With the help of Deep Silver, and Abstraction Games, Tequila Works have managed to breathe new life into the game.

    It's the perfect time to grab it if you've not played the original, there's some new content, and whilst it's not as great as it could be in terms of the remaster - it's probably worth a punt if you're a fan of the genre, and you're looking for a quick foray into something a little different than the run of the mill Zombie Crafting Death Simulator.    … Expand

    I had zeroed Deadlight, from the times of my glorious Xbox 360 (my favorite console of all time), I remember that he had not understood anything bolufas history. Deadlight in sí has a good plot, which is dwarfed by way of its gameplay, nothing against platform games (I love the genre) but for a game that tries to show its history, with a lethal dose of survival horror, the displayed styleI had zeroed Deadlight, from the times of my glorious Xbox 360 (my favorite console of all time), I remember that he had not understood anything bolufas history.     Probably the worst game I've ever seen, avoid at all costs even for free. You think how much worst can a game get but then you see this game, I don't believe there will ever be a game as bad as this.

    Provides a new spin for zombie games by going the 2D platformer route. Rather than letting you rack up the kills, Deadlight forces you to approach the undead with caution. Groups of them are to be avoided due to a lack of ammunition, a stamina bar that drains when you use melee attacks and leaves you vulnerable when it empties, as well as a very real sense of mortality. The game gives you the tools to outsmart and outrun them. Combat is minimal as a result, leaving the game open to provide some solid platforming challenges.

    With a silhouetted visual style akin to that of Playdead's Limbo and comic style cutscenes, Deadlight is dripping with style. The tale it tells and the world developer Tequila Works has built is filled with dread. The game has the kind of bleakness The Walking Dead TV show has been struggling to attain for years now. Collectibles scattered throughout the game, on top of being well-hidden at times, flesh out the experience with dark side stories to go along with that of the main narrative. A shame there's so much overacting and outright bad voice work though.

    There is a little bit of extra content in this director's cut. Such as the new survival mode. Something I find to be a very questionable new addition. It feels out of place for a game largely about not fighting the undead to have such a combat-centric mode. It's not much fun because of that. Those looking for an extra challenge can play through the Nightmare version of the campaign upon completing it the first time, which tasks you with playing through the game where the only checkpoints only occurring between chapters. While you're gifted with an alternative ending upon finishing it, the control issues like the unreliable wall-jump and occasional unresponsiveness make it much less appealing to do when you can just check out a YouTube video instead. Then there are the multitude of technical issues that can screw you out of progress. I don't know why this rerelease didn't get more bug testing.

    Overall, Deadlight is a worthy prospect for the zombie fanatic. It's got a decent little post-apocalyptic story to tell and the visual aesthetics make exploring it's rundown locations a blast. I was put-off by the glitches and control flaws, but in the end I was kept engaged by it's solid platforming. There are some really fun moments to be found. While there isn't enough new content to make it worth revisiting for those who already experienced it on last gen consoles, this director's cut is now the definitive way to go for new players.    … Expand

    Game really fun and addictive, I had many problems with the game beyond simple bugs and small delays rendering, but playing alone gets to be tedious, the game does not encourage you to continue playing for a long time, you play, wide control after an hour playing, wide control, finally, it is worth likes horror and fun online.

    Had this on Xbox 360, enjoyed it back then so picked up on Xbox One and am regretting it despite the discount for having owned it on 360.

    The story, is serviceable for your standard zombie apocalypse (thought the story was great back when I 1st had it on 360, maybe just worn out on zombie games now after so many years) The controls seem quite unresponsive at times and this is using    Had this on Xbox 360, enjoyed it back then so picked up on Xbox One and am regretting it despite the discount for having owned it on 360.

    The controls seem quite unresponsive at times and this is using it with an Xbox Elite controller, the amount of times I have died through an unresponsive jump response from the game is frustrating.

    Glitches, a few times I have went into a room via a window, to pick up a collectable only to find it glitched and unable to get out the room cause he want crawl through the window and tries to walk or jump through it, causing me to restart the checkpoint.

    For a directors cut, this game is worse than I remember it, which is a shame    … Expand

    First things first: Deadlight has a pretty nice basic concept with being a Resident Evil kind of zombie game only in 2D. But the thing is, during the whole time i was always thinking about the things it could do better or what it could add to make it a more interesting and more challenging experience. It could have given the game more character and charm.
    But this game is not only extremely short, it wasn't challenging at all. It's all about running, jumping at the right moment and pressing the X button to enter some doors. That's it. The puzzles are not even worth mentioning, they are so easy it's almost an insult to us players.
    This game is neither demanding nor really interesting. It misses so much. And no, i don't want to replay it again on nightmare mode, it doesn't give me anything.
    The best parts of the game are the atmospheric and vivid backgrounds and the sound design. That and the fact that this game was very cheap and only made by a very small indie studio saves it from a negative score. But i really can't go higher than 5.    … Expand

    Un muy buen juego de acción, puzles y plataformas, con una historia simple pero eficaz. Un estilo artístico muy bien trabajado y algunas escenas tipo cómic muy bien dibujadas.

    Quizás puede resultar algo corto, pero no tendrás problema en rejugarlo otra vez.

    I usually hate platform games but I'm a huge zombie nerd so couldn't resist when I saw this on sale for next to nothing on the xbox store. Now I admit the puzzles don't vary too much and the actual game mechanics aren't mundblowing but it is visually stunning for a side scrolling game and they have captured the apocalypse vibes perfectly.     I'm not much of a fan of side scrollers really but I went ahead and purchased this game on digital store omg was this a purchase I haven't regretted. it's the voice acting and the way the music convinces you of this world's forever hell the art is great the direction is great good going devs

    Deadlight: Director's Cut fails to add enough replay reasons for people who already finished it in the past. But if you never played it, it still keeps its original values offering a compelling horror experience.

    If Deadlight: Directors Cut is the first time you've played, go for it. This atmospheric action platformer is still a great game despite its couple of flaws, and the new modes make for a longer and more difficult game if you choose it.
