Jan 3, 2017While Crypt of the Serpent King is not the most polished game, it offers almost the same level of enjoyment as games like Rogue Legacy or Toy Odyssey. If you love roguelike titles, be sure to check this one out despite its archaic save strategy and odd texture issues.

Jan 20, 2017Considering the price, and if you enjoy these types of first-person dungeon crawlers, you really can’t go wrong if you need a quick fix to waste away a few hours and earn some easy achievements.

Jan 23, 2017At its heart, Crypt of the Serpent King is a very simple and basic dungeon crawler. It may even make for a decent ‘my first dungeon crawler’ game for someone new to the genre or who is new to gaming as a whole. It is by no means going to excite you, but given that it’s only priced at $3, its' issues can be somewhat forgiven. Regardless of its score, you’ll get $3 worth of entertainment out of it, just don’t expect much more value than what is offered so you won't have any regrets when finished.
-
Feb 3, 2017It’s clear where its inspiration came from and if you are a fan of early 90’s hack and slash dungeon crawlers, then you will likely see some enjoyment from this. It is very basic and should last no longer than a few nights to complete, but with a price as low as this it is difficult to expect anymore.

Feb 11, 2017In a few words, Crypt of the Serpent King is a game designed for old school players. It doesn't seem to be able to attract new players at all. The game has great variety of enemies and levels but is far from liking a casual audience. It has a mediocre quality and of short duration. Anyway, if you usually enjoy this kind of games it is a good choice with a good price.

Jan 9, 2017This poor excuse for a dungeon crawler doesn't even have enough entertainment value to fall into the "so bad it's good" category. It's a masterclass in lazy design, from the abominable graphics and abysmal soundtrack through to the gameplay that is laughably unbalanced in your favour. Bugs and frame-rate drops are the final nails in the coffin.
