    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Created an account here just to talk about this game. Been a longtime Crackdown fan. Spend a crazy amount of time in the first two games. Especially getting those orbs. So naturally when I heard there would be a third game I was hyped. Didn't think they could screw it up. I was wrong.

    Let's make it clear a lot of the core gameplay is still there. Not too much has changed with the mechanics. So on that end its good ol' Crackdown. Even the graphics have that same great visual style to them. And adding Terry Crews was perfect!

    So what is this game a 3? Well the map is SUPER small. Though they managed to build buildings higher than before. But of course everything is just a empty shell you climb. With even more limitations then before with climbing. With the small map you are stuck with a game that can be beat within 6-8 hours. Now you may think "But there are side missions, orbs...etc to keep you busy!". While the orbs are still fun to get, after beating the game there is really no point to collect them since you are pretty much maxed out level wise. For example I could get the last level of Driving, but it doesn't really do anything of use now that the game is beaten. Also the "Destructible environment" only works online and as of when I played didn't seem to work.

    The side missions are just boring repetitive tasks that are easy. Free prisoners by using a button. Grab some info from a tower using a button. Rare occasions destroy a convoy of cars. Do some silly challenges that are boring after the first few. When it comes to jumping your car through rings there is no "medium" in difficulty. They are either SUPER easy to get or crazy hard with the climbing/jumping car that controls like your drunk and blind. The tank you can get is just "meh" and it's so hard to get that you will of beaten the game by that time. Your cars also blow up too easily. The public cars you can get are useless, except for the ramp truck as always.

    You can go around the map collecting DNA from other agents to play as. Which thankfully you can switch at any time. And each has a bonus like +10% XP driving and +5% XP agility. But really all the agents are the same with varied combos of +10% and +5%. And the sad thing is the only good character is Terry Crews character. He actually has audio that is fun to hear. Ironically if you pick another agent, all the cutscenes only show Terry's character instead. Taking you out of the moment.

    The bosses were all essentially the same and no real strategy was needed to take them down. The weapons were either very crappy or really OP. I won't say all I used but the homing rocket is what you will end up using most of the time. The gadgets/grenades were nothing of interest either. But the grenade that gives you ammo or health was a nice edition (can't recall if it was in past games). The world itself may look like its alive but it's relatively barren except for cats and a few people here or there.

    For how small the game is and how short it is, it's not worth the $60. Maybe $20 at most. Or like me you can play it free using Gamepass. Which makes me happy I didn't spend a dime on it. As much as I would like to see Crackdown 4 where they learn from their mistakes, I doubt that will happen. Though the game does hint of a "future" of the series.    … Expand

    To put it simply, Crackdown 3 is a fun game. It’s no frills unpretentious fun. If you have an Xbox you should have this game.

For all the time we waited for this game to come out, and the continuous delays, didn't make up for what we got.     Meu primeiro xbox foi o Series S e essa foi minha terceira experiência com o console, e por enquanto minha favorita.

    A história e o gráfico são medianos, mas a gameplay é muito divertida.

    Overall, enjoyable and an easy way to kill 2 days of boredom with explosions and Terry Crews. It's an interesting play as well as fixing the worst parts of Crackdown 2 with the ability to just got ham and do what you want. The multiplayer had my console drop into the 20 fps range which is not good. Mainly, if the campaign was longer and had more to offer the rating would be higher. StillOverall, enjoyable and an easy way to kill 2 days of boredom with explosions and Terry Crews. It's an interesting play as well as fixing the worst parts of Crackdown 2 with the ability to just got ham and do what you want.     I think my high rating for this is because I got this game free on game pass. Great game for achievement hunters. At the start the game feels slow and sluggish but once you start building the abilities up, the games really starts feeling like the first Crackdown on 360. But that was about it for me really.     How wrong can one be? I thank the Lord for the small gift of gamepass so I didn’t have to waste my cash on this pile of old tripe. It’s tacky, cheesy and a right old load of drivel.     It's essentially a remaster of Crackdown with less of the radical personality and culturally insensitive references. For me, it's hard to see this as an overly ambitious sequel that doesn't deliver. It's not the next-gen crackdown some people want but it's something that couldn't have been achieved on the Xbox 360. I think it's a really good sandbox with fun weapons, gadgets, and godIt's essentially a remaster of Crackdown with less of the radical personality and culturally insensitive references.     Es un juego adictivo, dan ganas de regresar a completar una misión, carrera o una búsqueda de objetos. Lo mejor: La música, los controles en combate, saltando techos, vuelo y conducción.
    Lo mejorable: Los gráficos, diálogos un poco infantiles...

    TERRY CREWS!!!
    -Good-ok graphics -Good-ok enemy (in terms of story) -Ok solo story -Ok co-op -Gameplay: would have been relevant in the mid to late 2000s -Animations: looks VERY over exaggerated -Sound design: as soon as you leave the room where you first spawn and fall into the water you can tell that the sound is all messed up -Gunplay:    Here’s what I found of the game from best to worst:
    TERRY CREWS!!!
    -Good-ok graphics
    -Good-ok enemy (in terms of story)
    -Ok solo story
    -Ok co-op

    Verdict: if Microsoft and sumo had given themselves a few more years to work on this and updated gameplay accordingly this could have been a very good exclusive but, alas, even Terry Crews and an interesting enemy storyline could not save this. So unless you are really looking to blow something up or are a die hard crackdown fan, there’s no point even thinking about this game.     Not a 10/10 game that's for sure, but if you ignore the lies of Microsoft about the power of the cloud and if this game was a non known franchise. It has nice easy mechanics well polished game play and if you like crackdown one its more of the same without bugs or glitches

    Crackdown used to be the game that would get me excited to get on the console, now with Crackdown 3, I'm very let down, the graphics are sub-par ingame improvements over last version lacking. And the promises given that the third installation in the series would have are abandoned. I will never get excited again for a Crackdown game.

    The game is short but fun to play. I kind of like the comic book style graphics but I really got annoyed by the platforming portion of the gameplay and ridiculously unreadable map espeasally in the center of the city. I would recommend the game though.

    An improvement over Crackdown 2, but that isn't saying much. Gameplay is fun. The inclusion of Terry Crews was certainly welcome, however he is more of a "Skin" cameo, if you will.

    But the gameplay loop needed a little more

    Crackdown 3 doesnt do anything new, the world feels empty, the gameplay and missions feel like the same that the first Crackdown had to offer in 2006 and that is the biggest problem of the game it offers nothing new which could refresh the franchise. A lot of potential was wasted here it's still fun but it needs more than just the classic crackdown formula!

C3 has a solid fun factor, where combat, traversal, progression, verticality and mobility are all intertwined decently.     Guns feel good and the lock-on feature works quite well and that was one the aspects i found kinda boring in the original but this is a different kind of 3PS where breaking line contact and using your mobility to your advantage is the name of the game.

    Ive played the original a few years ago and couldnt get into it but C3 feels better to play and IS surprisingly fun.

    The driving aspect of the game is abit "weird" as i like to jump from rooftops to traverse the area.

    Graphics are FINE, nothing to boast about but theyre FINE.

    Music is good, electronic sci-fi dubstep feel.

    This game has been overhyped and at the end of the day, devs didnt quite deliver what they originally promised with the destruction in the campaign.

    C3 has a solid funfactor and my score for this game is 8 of 10. It does NOT deserve all the hate its been getting, im having genuine fun with this game and wnat to get right back into it.    … Expand

    To put the premise quite simply, you're part of an agency of super-soldier law enforcement officers sent to New Providence to shut down a corporation that's been instigating global blackout attacks on cities across the world. On entry, you and your entire crew get utterly vaporized by Elizabeth Niemand's mechanical dragon and    Crackdown 3 is a surprisingly good, albeit flawed game.

    To put the premise quite simply, you're part of an agency of super-soldier law enforcement officers sent to New Providence to shut down a corporation that's been instigating global blackout attacks on cities across the world.

    On entry, you and your entire crew get utterly vaporized by Elizabeth Niemand's mechanical dragon and you are only, just barely revived with none of your superpowers by a member of the city's resistance. Your goal is to liberate the city, eliminate TerraNova's kingpins and end the blackout attacks.

    Firstly, the problems...

    Crackdown 3 has a boatload of collectibles and it's a very tedious task to complete this game 100%. Thankfully this game does have a few quality-of-life changes above the original which makes this task somewhat less tedious, i.e. being able to track down the number of Agility Orbs remaining in a given region of the city.

    This game also has a "reverse difficulty curve" whereby early objectives will be difficult to capture and you will die a lot, until you've levelled your abilities up, after which the game becomes a cakewalk.

    Two of the bosses (including the final one) are exceptions to this rule and are so very cheaply designed that I've had to cheese my way to victory through unorthodox strategies on both fights.

    Please note that this is based on the Super Agent (second-hardest) difficulty, which I've beaten. I am currently doing a run on Legendary and the aforementioned initial difficulty spike is far, far more apparent.

    Also, if you're expecting to hear Terry Crews drop loads of quips and unforgettable one-liners in this game, dream on. Commander Jaxon, the character that Crews lended his voice and likeness to, was a major marketing and selling point of this game, yet he doesn't even survive the opening cutscene and literally gets turned to radioactive dust within the first three minutes of play. Sure, you can choose him as an agent skin, but you're not gonna hear him say anything for the whole game.

    Now... the positives.

    The game controls well, has a plethora of vehicles, although regrettably no planes or helicopters. It plays about as well as you'd expect a futuristic superhero GTA clone to play and has one of the best lock-on targeting systems I've seen in any video game. It also hasn't changed much from the very first game, which is both a good and bad thing.

    Lore-wise, the game is packed deep with it, if you're willing to take the time to unlock audio logs and transmissions. It also makes a few calls back to the very first game.    … Expand

    I really enjoyed the first Crackdown game but sadly I was not into this one. Repetitive missions, odd graphics, and unfulfilled promises. I would not recommend this game unless you are a big fan of the franchise. However, there are some segments of the game that are quite fun ,such as fighting multiple enemies, but in the end things get pretty much the same. I did not try the coop though.

    Jogo horrível, não entregou o que prometeu referente a destruição do cenário, quando acontece uma explosão parece que a pupila do olho ira sair para fora de tão horrível que é o efeito do jogo, não existe quase nada a falar de positivo neste game

    Plutôt fun à jouer, du moins pour la parti solo, Crackdown 3.est un bon défouloir sans prétentions. En revanche le multi n'est vraiment pas terrible, trop brouillon et pas amusant.

    Such a disappointing game that had such much hype with it. The gameplay has barely changed since the original and the graphics are arguably worse. The open world is very bland and there is barely anything non-repetitive to do- climbing the tower was somewhat fun and the weapon variety was alright but besides from that it was mostly a disappointing game- story was also terrible.     This game got delayed like no other and still came out trash. Bad graphics, gameplay, and nonsensical story.

    Crackdown 3 wastes its potential in both the woefully boring campaign and the completely uninteresting, barely functional multiplayer. The open-world city is just as empty as the game itself.

    We can't recommend Crackdown 3 in good faith. It has its moments, but you need to be a fan of uncomplicated run'n'gun gameplay to enjoy them – and even then, the action takes way too long to pick up. [Issue#236, p.42]

    After such a glacial wait, it's not unreasonable to expect more. Still, in spite of its pared-back ambitions, it is such a chorus line of brainless, sugar rush thrills, you'll rarely be anything less than entertained. Let's just hope we don't have to wait until 2024 for Crackdown 4 to arrive. [Issue#225, p.65]
