This is a good and relaxing game for older gamers who want to unwind and enjoy a fast paced world that is also casual, either alone or with friends. ‘Crackdown 3’ is perfect for anyone who only has short amounts of time to spare or is looking for a game with lots of replay value.

Forget Crackdown 2 ever happened, Crackdown 3 is the sequel we deserve.

Crackdown 3 makes no sense on paper. Its story is nonsense, you spend way too much time searching for hidden orbs and leveling up, and the presentation isn’t anything spectacular. And yet, the over-the-top madness and hilarious, memorable moments it brought me made it impossible to put down. While the PvP multiplayer mode falls short of what it’s trying to achieve, there’s a lot to love about Crackdown’s long overdue return.

It maintains everything that created a really enjoyable franchise: non-stop action and an enormously satisfying progression system. It's not a game changer and you won't be surprised by its graphics, but it will offer you some toooooasty action.

Crackdown 3 is a refined improvement over the previous two instalments. The single and co-op campaign modes are super fun, and the jumping and combat systems give our character a real feeling of power and invincibility which transfers well to the player. Visually appealing, fast-paced and tons of missions to complete, I would recommend this game to anyone, not just fans of third-person action games. While not revolutionary, it is still a great example of its genre.

Crackdown 3 is exactly what I wanted. That is most glowing praise I can give it. I loved the original game, I really despised the second one, and this entry brings me back to what made that original so special. It never attempts to stray from being the big stupid sandbox it sets out to be. While not pushing the series further it does great at respecting the source material. For those that have Gamepass this is a treat. Download it and play it. For $60 though I feel like the price tag might be a touch much.

Loud, brash and gleefully addictive at times, Crackdown 3 is unashamedly fun, even if it does feel more like a remake than a sequel.

Crackdown is back with a fun game that ends up being quite repetitive. Sumo Digital has done a great job finishing this title, but we expected a more evolved concept after so many years. The Wrecking Zone, at the moment, is pretty much a proof of concept, and we hope this multiplayer mode grows with future updates.

When you're not dealing with combat-related annoyances, there is some fun to be had just running and jumping through Crackdown's brutally beautiful authoritarian world, looking for shiny orbs. It's too bad that this is only half of this half-baked game.

These developers missed the fact that Crackdown’s genius wasn’t in providing an almost endless number of arcane things to find, but in the reward for finding them – namely, wonder-giving abilities. The plague of collectibles has, in recent years, had a wearying effect: never have video games felt more like work.
  3. Feb 18, 2019
One of the great open-world templates fails to come into focus in this well-meaning, if embattled, sequel.
  4. Feb 14, 2019
We’ve ended up with 12 to 15 hours of uncomplicated fun that recaptures the good stuff about the first two Crackdown games, without offering much of an evolution. It’s like the last 10 years just didn’t happen.

Crackdown 3 is basically a can of Pringles in video game form: rapidly consumed, only vaguely satisfying, and completely forgotten within minutes.
  6. Feb 14, 2019
Crackdown 3 is a playpen of combat and destruction that sets itself up as a liberating journey into a barbarous fantasy of wanton mayhem. But its central proposition — the freedom to do as I please — is undermined by frustrating design compromises.

Crackdown 3 is too much of everything, but that's why it's fun.

I regret to inform you that Crackdown 3 is, well, sh*t really. It's not fun to say, but it is what it is. Crackdown 3 is an uninspired, lazy retread of the original Crackdown which they might have gotten away with if this was 2007, but it's not 2007. So this game just looks and feels like something that's over 10 years old. Feels like a budget title at best, and not a good budget title either.

At this point, though, I’m just relieved and a little surprised that Microsoft and Sumo managed to ship another competent Crackdown game. Like most of what you’ll find on Netflix, it won’t blow your mind — but it’ll go out of its way to make you feel at home.
  10. Feb 14, 2019
I’d be extremely hesitant to recommend anyone part with $60 for it. There’s just not enough here. Still, all things considered, Crackdown 3 being this enjoyable represents a minor miracle, and I’d love to see what these teams are capable of with the franchise without being dicked around by corporate for half a decade.

That said, the game has mindless fun and well thats it, but you cant help that feel that there are games that have done what crackdown does better. Furthermore coming at a time where games like God of war and red dead redemption have raised the bar for games just kills it. But if you enjoyed crackdown 1 & 2 , you will certainly enjoy this game Full Review »

Everyone loves to hate a game but this is genuinely REALLY GOOD, SOLID FUN! The weapons are great and it doesn’t take itself too seriously. It was never going to be RDR2, but for good reason. It’s a game that indulges in collecting and powering up! Simple, clean, good solid fun.

...and coop is a blast :) should have made it 4 player though
