Going at Chariot solo adds up to a competent and unique platformer that's satisfying, yet somewhat unfulfilling because of all the opportunity that's unfortunately necessary to pass up. However, once you have a friend in the mix, any concern dissipates and you're left with a memorable social experience that just happens to be almost flawless in its execution.

Its core mechanic is enjoyable enough to sell the game on its own. [Issue#118, p.84]

Chariot is one of the best cooperative gaming experiences we’ve ever had. It’s immensely rewarding, abundantly creative, and the sense of accomplishment that it instills within the player will lead to high-fives being thrown around the room on a regular basis.

Chariot is up there with the best of them: its take on puzzle platforming is unique enough and challenging enough to keep you engaged for some time. It won’t capture the attention or admiration of everybody, of course, but for those of you who yearn for days gone by, Chariot is a must see.

This is a very original and fun take on the platformer and puzzle concept. If you are a Gold user go ahead and give it a try, because it deserves it.

In its base form, Chariot is cute but frustrating—a great idea with a lot of flaws.

Chariot is a puzzle-platform developed with co-op mechanics in mind, that loses part of his charm when played alone. The game is based on its realistic and well implemented physics, and knows how to entertain, also thanks to its high replayability.

Charming and refreshing 2D puzzle adventure granted with fantastic cooperative gameplay mechanics... but only offline play.

Even with a few flaws and missteps, Chariot is still a very enjoyable platform title that is most welcome in a day and age where they are virtually nonexistent — unless you are a Wii U owner.

It's beautiful, it's comical, but it's a shame that it feels so lacking in solo play. [Dec 2014, p.82]

Chariot is a pretty decent puzzle platformer with stellar visuals but it could've been much more, had it not been for the annoying enemies and the rather difficult task of escorting the coffin through the many different caves. Its design is sound but its pace is grueling and filled with trial and error. Playing with a friend alleviates this somewhat, so bring a buddy if you want to go through the game.

Overall, Chariot is a game that is deliberately slow-paced and also demands patience.

Difficulty aside, another significant problem is that the game's camera is an inexplicable blockhead. [Issue#154, p.108]

Chariot is a sidescroller made by developer Frima. Visually the game is very pretty, but it gets bugged by the frustrating gameplay which makes it hard to enjoy.

Love the story its fun and cute and the couch coop is something I am a huge fan of. Loved Guacamelee and Child of light and now loving this game. Also its free with games with gold so no reason if you have anybody at home wanting to game with you not to grab this game on Xbox One and game it up. Just love it and so far have zero complaints difficulty seems to move up with the game and I thought carrying a dead king would get cumbersome and boring but it's honestly one of the coolest elements I've used in any game.

Great coop, great puzzles and great fun.

with intuitive controls and a totally original premise this game stands out in the Indy world to me. fun and challenging puzzles with actionwith intuitive controls and a totally original premise this game stands out in the Indy world to me. fun and challenging puzzles with action packed platforming combined with a funny story and lively characters makes for hours of enjoyment in this breath of fresh air in a sea of stagnant repetitive gaming titles. if you own an Xbox one this game is worth every penny, though it was a free with gold title a few months back so you might have it in your library already and haven't touche it.
