    What it comes down to is that, even though it's a redesigned version of its mobile counterpart, BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition is experimental and rich enough to justify its existence on a home console.

    Badlands offers local co-op, multiplayer, and a ton of levels to keep players going, yet it feels like a game made for quick access, and I found myself getting rather bored after 30 minutes of play.

    Badland is a lightweight time-waster at heart, and it shows. It's perfect for a bus journey, out of place on a console that's about as portable as the Himalayas.

It took me about 9 hours to play through the first 80 levels (out of 100). If you go after the achievements and missions, I suspect it may take multiple times that. I thought the difficulty progression was good. Later levels can be challenging but not too much for my taste. All the more satisfying to pass them. The co-op and versus multiplayer modes are surprisingly fun with friends. We ended up playing a few hours in a single session and had plenty of laughs. The gameplay is simple yet challenging. And the level design is really good. You may tend to think that you have seen what the game has to offer within the first 15 minutes and I came close to thinking that too. But each level brings something new keeping the gameplay fresh and enjoyable. There are plenty of checkpoint but also a few levels completely without. Some of those can be a bit too difficult but man it feels awesome once you manage to ace them. The art design and atmosphere are excellent and the uniquely challenging puzzles creative. Was definitely worth it for me.… Full Review »

The game is frustrating. And if you like achievements, then plan on playing this simple anger-fest for about 50+ hours. Honestly, a chess or checkers game would be more entertaining.
