Badland is a side-scrolling adventure / puzzle game with lots of content, awesome graphics and excellent level design. It took me about 9 hours to play through the first 80 levels (out of 100). I thought the difficulty progression was good. Later levels can be challenging but not too much for my taste. All the more satisfying to pass them. The co-op and versus multiplayer modes are surprisingly fun with friends. We ended up playing a few hours in a single session and had plenty of laughs. The gameplay is simple yet challenging. And the level design is really good. You may tend to think that you have seen what the game has to offer within the first 15 minutes and I came close to thinking that too. But each level brings something new keeping the gameplay fresh and enjoyable. There are plenty of checkpoint but also a few levels completely without. Some of those can be a bit too difficult but man it feels awesome once you manage to ace them. The art design and atmosphere are excellent and the uniquely challenging puzzles creative. Was definitely worth it for me. Expand

If you like games where you have to repeat the same sections over and over (10 to 100 times) just to get past a stupid obstacle, then this is your game. The game is frustrating. And if you like achievements, then plan on playing this simple anger-fest for about 50+ hours. Honestly, a chess or checkers game would be more entertaining. Don't waste your money!!!!!!!

A fun, quirky reflex based puzzle game which is well designed and incredibly easy to pick up and play. Never feels frustrating to the point where you dislike it. Well worth the indie price tag.

    Quite simply a breath-taking game.

A decent mobile to home console porting, Badland sports some very nice visuals but its too simplistic gameplay might be not enough to justify playing it on console.

What it comes down to is that, even though it's a redesigned version of its mobile counterpart, BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition is experimental and rich enough to justify its existence on a home console.
