Had the benefit of having this 2 days prior to release to play through. Let's get straight to it, it's ALOT better than unity, however it's obvious that they have cut down on some graphics and the amount of NPC's on screen to keep a solid frame rate. They have nailed the setting of London in my opinion and the story overall is pretty good however the starting hour or so of the game is veryHad the benefit of having this 2 days prior to release to play through. The characters are satisfactory, not brilliant but not bad, in my opinion the female character has more about than the male character Jacob. A solid 4/5 and can easily recommend buying it. Expand

Not a perfect game by any means but a solid entry after the misstep of Assassin's Creed Unity. Assassin's Jacob and Evie Frye are the most likeable heroes we've gotten since the legendary Ezio. There are some small glitches here and there but nothing to ruin the fun that this game brings

Assassin's Creed Syndicate is quite likely my favorite Assassin's Creed title to date. Gone is the terrible mess that was Unity, for Syndicate truly learned from its mistakes. The climbing can still be somewhat unresponsive, and the grand open world suffers from a small amount of visual hiccups, but overall, Syndicate improves upon the rest.

The climbing can still be somewhat unresponsive, and the grand open world suffers from a small amount of visual hiccups, but overall, Syndicate improves upon the rest.

The Frye twins are by far the most interesting and lovable characters of the bunch, but the side characters are incredibly likable none the less. Along with more fleshed out motives and a largely amusing story, Syndicate gives its side objectives a lot of depth, allowing you to tackle them in different ways.

From rescuing child laborers to hunting down a Templar leader, London is filled with tons of activities and collectibles, making traversing the city more fun than it ever was. The addition of carriages and the line launcher further improve upon the traversal aspect of the series, yet these do take some getting used to when you're used to the previous installments.

In terms of performance, Syndicate is also a leap above Unity. The gameplay no longer stutters, even when you enter more crowded area's like train stations and markets, and the amount of glitches has also been greatly reduces. Some other users complained about truly game-breaking errors, yet I have not encountered any in my ten hours with the game thus far.

Despite taking place during the Industrial Revolution, Syndicate never feels as if the elements were just tossed in for the sake of having them. Trains and boats allow you to traverse the city more quickly, for example, whereas concealed weapons, improved disguises and a whole bunch of other features make Syndicate's discreet take on the series a new standard.

Is it flawless? No, there are still some issues that remain present, but look past these minor flaws, and you will get to discover London like no previous game let you discover any city. It's big, beautiful and brutal, but most importantly, it's the most fun you can have on a next-gen system.

You can tell even the professional reviews were trying to find a sneaky way to tell the consumer that the game is still a broken mess. ("They fixed most of the glitches", "the gameplay is somewhat improved") it's clear that money changed hands here because this game is just as bad as unity when it comes to the bugs and the uninspired characters/story.

("They fixed most of the glitches", "the gameplay is somewhat improved") it's clear that money changed hands here because this game is just as bad as unity when it comes to the bugs and the uninspired characters/story.

Biggest glitches I've experienced in my three hours with the game so far:
-Fell through the world and had to restart.
-My carriage hit a bump of some sort and flipped over like someone did the old warthog jumping glitch in Halo.
-Textures all over the place take longer to load than in thps5.
-The freerunning has somehow got worse since unity so they made the zipline I guess to keep you from climbing and breaking the game. Only my character fell off the line halfway across a gap and then ragdoll'd around until magically resetting on the ground as if nothing happened.
-The combat is once again a disaster and there was even one person I kept punching that got stuck in a wall and wouldn't go down so I had to restart.
-fell into a wall while climbing once. Luckily I just fell to the ground and was then able to walk right through the wall and back into the street. No reset necessary that time.

And those are just the notable things in 3 hours of play. I'm not THAT much of a glitch magnet. This is inexcusable.

I love how all the professional reviews dodge around the fact that horse carriages are the most broken gameplay element since the batmobile or the witcher 3 horse. Leave vehicles to racing games already!

I usually just come to the user reviews section here because the critic reviews are all or mostly lies. I'm starting to see some devs or friends of devs bleed through into this section though. Nobody that actually played this game would rate it 10/10. Even if you liked it and you weren't being paid to write the review, at best I can see the game being an 8 if there weren't so many bugs and you liked the story I guess.

Anyway, I'm giving this a zero because 10 and 0 are the only numbers that stand out and get read here. And this is certainly no 10.

Don't be fooled by the corrupt reviewers! I bought my copy at full price and once again I was left wondering why Ubisoft is still in business. Assassins creed just needs to take a long break and get a different dev team to be worth buying ever again.

A pretty solid effort from Ubi Quebec,
As this series seems to be marching onwards into obscurity the one hit one miss trend seems to go with it,
Syndicate is probably the best effort since black flag, the game play feels a lot more organic and mostly fun, i was worried about how stealthy a game with grapple lines and invisibility but for myself at least it is so far the most fun i've

Mostly glitch free though i have seen a few hiccups in the 12 hours I've played so far, but few and far-between

Evie and Jacob's rivalry makes for some interesting moments and funny even in places, and the story itself has been more interesting than usual

Отличная игра. Ubisoft справились с оптимизацией. Сделали интересный геймплей и отличный сюжет.

Massive, Massive improvement over that crapfest that was Unity. The characters are well written, familiar gameplay mechanics such as the whistling and being able to pick up bodies is back, the story has clever links to the story of the other AC games, the modern day is better and actually goes somewhere (albeit the ending is absolute wank) and the side missions are implemented well intoMassive, Massive improvement over that crapfest that was Unity. Had much faith in this and saw it as a new start and was let down again...
If you arent sick of the same AC games over and over again this game is just for you!

In all honesty I never thought Unity was too bad in terms of content. It was however a technical nightmare. Thankfully Syndicate has fixed this and is finally in the era I've always wanted the franchise to go to and it certainly delivers ! Everything is a step up and London is portrayed really well. Don't miss Syndicate !

This is quite simply the best Assassin's Creed game since 4 and I can say that without a doubt this is the best open world of the series. However the 2 main characters are very well written and are extremely likable, Jacob Frye is as good a character as Ezio. You are actually going to laugh quite a bit, and it's a good thing. This is probably the least serious Assassin's Creed game.

I know a lot of people are tired of this franchise but the key to enjoying it is to not play all the Assassin's Creed games. Only play the good ones, and this is one of the good ones.

The combination of an interesting and diverse cast of characters and the entertaining and compelling story sit perfectly in the beautifully recreated 1860’s London. It doesn’t do everything to solve all the series’ problems, missions can feel repetitive and there are some minor AI bugs that will shatter the sense of immersion occasionally, but by taking a step backwards and removing much of the excess baggage that the series has accumulated over the years of annual releases, Syndicate has become the best Assassin's Creed since Brotherhood.

Syndicate is a solid sequel that will delight fans of the series, but most likely will not draw new people to the brand. If only devs pay more attention to an optimization and get rid of repeatable tasks, the result could be significantly better. [Issue#258]

It isn't a terrible game by any means, and I'd rank it much higher on the totem pole than the previous installment, Assassin's Creed Unity. But that doesn't change the fact that Ubisoft's latest assassin-centered story is only a few shades above mediocre.
