The Good: A lot of new cards (I've heard there are OVER 9000!), A much improved single player experience, a gentler difficulty at the beginning for new players, very slightly improved graphics

The Bad: Some old favorite cards are now banned (Monster Reborn, Brain Control, Giant Trunade, Heavy Storm - WTF?) This is basically the same game as Decade Duels. If you liked it, you'll like

If you liked it, you'll like this, if you didn't this won't change your mind. The production values continue to feel medicore (Even if you can't afford animated fights at least show us 3-d models of the cards or something). Getting a multiplayer game going can still be a pain. There is a lot of room to grow on the Decade Duels foundation and this effort barely capitalizes on it.

I'll give a fair warning here. If you did not play Decade Duels first then you definitely should not play MD as you'll be forced to use the starter deck for the game and you'll get poundcaked real bad (and the original series duels are a cakewalk compared to the other gen duels). As for those that played DDs, if you felt that Decade Duels' single player mode was too short, boring or easy,I'll give a fair warning here. 160 new duels for the single player
Thousands of new cards to collect and use
    Challenging A.I.

The only issue I have with the game is that it can get a little buggy with black screens, freezes and cards with no pictures every now and then. Other then that it's a great game.

For the ones thinking the game is bad because they suck at it, go and play Decade Duels first so that you can get some cards. The single player on that game is a cakewalk. If you don't like to be challenged then you shouldn't be playing the game in the first place.

Offering a serviceable but somewhat bland alternative for core card-battlers wanting to play with friends(but unable to organize an in-person match), Yu-Gi-Oh! Millennium Duels is a bit of a slog for all but super-fans. [June 2014, p.80]
