WRC: FIA World Rally Championship

It doesn't have a fully accomplished driving model, and physics are far from perfect, still WRC is good first shot on the rally simulation by Milestone and Black Bean. The three years licence should give the team the right time to polish the product, and hopefully get to an even better product in the next years. As of now, if you are a fan of the WRC competition, this is your best option on the shelves, even if not perfect and fully accomplished.

WRC is not a return as strong as the Formula 1 championship, but is a game that will please simulation fans. Its visuals are not remarkable, but its gameplay works very well.

It's no Richard Burns Rally and nor does it hold a light to Codemasters' DiRT games, but WRC is a surprisingly enjoyable take on the sport that gets the fundamentals right.

Developer Milestone has managed to create a nice rally game that somehow disappoints in the visual department. Race fans should buy this game, but only when it has been lowered in price.

Overall, WRC: FIA World Rally Championship is a mediocre racing title. There's nothing in the game that hasn't been seen or done before within the genre, this is offset by the handling and official WRC support, making this more of a must purchase for the fully committed car rally fan.

WRC is a mediocre game which combines good driving in the more realistic direction with terrible presentation and a basic but well-functioning online mode. Despite some good points, it is a half-hearted production that falls short of competing with far better titles that are available for half the price tag.

WRC is the best racing game Milestone has put out in quite some time, but it's woefully lacking in terms of presentation. With racing games it's not just about an authentic driving model, as you need the in-game visuals to put you in the virtual driver's seat.

WRC 2010 seems to be coming back from the dead, at last... Even though some will undoubtedly have trouble getting past its mediocre visuals. Indeed, it's hard not to mention this with GT5 coming up. But despite this less-than average technical side, and lack of weather conditions to spice things up, the game remains fun and consistent in terms of content, modes of play and driving sensations. Its simulation is precise and accessible at the same time, thanks to several settings to choose from. Let's hope next year's edition will correct the visual flaws of this one.

Though by no means a very bad or broken game, WRC: FIA World Rally Championship just isn't particularly remarkable and is short on replay value.

Black Bean has secured the licence for three years and we're sure they'll make the most of it eventually. This is just a foundation from which they can build. Little more.
