Oct 16, 2011Getting tired of shooting rockets back and forth? Play in the skills challenge or, better yet, hop in a story mode and really wreak havoc. But bring your game when playing online; there definitely are some Worms veterans on the scene.

X-ONE Magazine UKDec 8, 2011Easily the best take on Worms in 3D yet. [Issue#79, p.103]
-
Oct 18, 2011The 2D Worms games have always been the best ones in the franchise and Worms Ultimate Mayhem only further proves that statement. The gameplay is slow and even firing a weapon sounds easier then it really is. As every Worms game, this one is funny and will give you some crazy weapons to work with. If you have an Xbox 360 and you want to play Worms, just go for Worms 2: Armageddon.
-
Oct 9, 2011Overall it is above decidedly average but with some changes it could have been a great game. Worth the money if you have been a player of the franchise or if you are looking to try out something new and fun that has a respectable amount of hours in it.

Games Master UKNov 20, 2011Moderately fun. [Christmas 2011, p.85]
-
Oct 14, 2011It can be fun but flawed, and fans of Worms gameplay will likely find Worms or Worms 2: Armageddon to be more satisfying.

Official Xbox Magazine UKNov 15, 2011Added depth doesn't add much. [Dec 2011, p.101]
-
Oct 10, 2011Worms: Ultimate Mayhem delivers a high quantity of underwhelming content that does nothing to improve the 3D Worms experience.
-
Oct 6, 2011Worms: Ultimate Mayhem has a lot of content and gameplay mileage to offer those with the patience to look beyond its faults, but despite its obvious charm, it still remains one of the weaker offerings in the Worms arsenal.

Xbox World 360 Magazine UKOct 31, 2011We'd be happier with a full rebuild of the original game. [Christmas 2011, p.110]
-
Oct 9, 2011Unless you've got a strong hankering for the 3-D world, you'd be better served with either Worms or Worms 2 in all their 2-D glory.
-
Jan 13, 2012While Worms Ultimate Mayhem tries to deliver a fun and entertaining way of destroying invertebrates, there is just too much going against this title that could justify a purchase of any amount other than free. There is a bunch of content, however the camera system is just too broken to allow you to enjoy the game, and when combined with the AI and other aspects, Worms Ultimate Mayhem should be one that gets passed over.
-
Jan 3, 2012Stop torturing those poor worms, Team 17!
-
Nov 1, 2011Worms Ultimate Mayhem isn't a bad game, but has cheaper and better prequels, which in the end makes this a completely unnecessary release.
-
Oct 9, 2011Truly a strange beast. As a fan of the series, I really wanted to enjoy myself, but the constant fighting with the camera, poor enemy AI in single-player, and terrible pacing keep this one from the top of my list of strategy shooters. It's not terrible by any stretch of the imagination... it's just not very good, either.
-
Nov 19, 2011Older fans like me can enjoy the nostalgia factor, but then there's not the level of depth to gameplay I now tend to enjoy.
-
Oct 12, 2011Without doing anything to issue the problems of the original two games Ultimate Mayhem is based on, Team 17 delivers one of the most problematic games this historic franchise has ever seen.
-
Oct 3, 2011It's a cruel irony that the one major change made to the Worms formula over the years only serves to erode the fun of the original incarnation. Implemented differently, perhaps 3D could have worked. Yet when its presence adds camera issues, reduces the power of weaponry to destroy scenery and elevates water-deaths to an art form, it's only reasonable to conclude that it is a failed experiment.
