the co-op action needs balance. One of the most off-setting elements is when players encounter a "special enemy" (heavy trooper, someone with a significant health gauge). It's cool to have a challenge. But the challenge is far too great with the heavy trooper whose only weakness is the miniscule white light on his back, which is ridiculously anno'ying to shoot at.

I wouldn't mind fighting more of these guys if they weren't made so unrealistically tough.

Also, team failure results in the end of the co-op match. big mistake. it takes so long just to find a match, and even when you do, who knows if the host in the lobby is paying attention to launch the game. one could be jumping lobby to lobby for a LONG time. Or when you jump in, you do so just as a team is losing, or has already lost-- back to the lobby.

This is painful, annoying, and time consuming.

I would like this game much more if upon losing everyone spawned at the last checkpoint, or the beginning of the mission.

Enemy AI doesn't seem to have the will to live. They run right out at you. This makes the game feel like it came out of the 90s. With more demand for realism in games, i too would liek ot see adversaries with a sense of self preservation, ie taking cover, calling for back up (maybe have sections of were if those enemies arent taken out within a time limit back up arrives, or other sections of a map where enemies infinitely spawn until the team can advance despite that spawn and thus disrupt that spawn).

I'm not concerned about graphics or hit detection (which are issues) but i feel those issues are usually on devos minds anyway and it will be handled.

Balance, respawn, and enemy AI--these are my suggestions.

Warface Beta started out pretty cool, but since the update I have a hard time connecting to a any game level. Disconnected more times then playing. Also you can not tell when players are ready to play, not sure if in vendor, or repairing armor or what is up. What really stinks when you have played a game and die at the very end and receive very little points. This game is decent. The multiplayer is ok and the graphics are good even on a console but what annoys me is when im playing and i get in a huge gunfight and explosions are going on the 360 starts to lag and it results in me getting killed. So i would play this game if you dont have COD or Battlefield It can be fun with friends

Okay, so it might be the simple version of something like Call of Duty, but that does not mean its rubbish. Not only does it cost the earth to buy say, a pair of gloves (And that's rental only) you will be paying loads of money for a week of "Magnificent" Gloves! And also, the spawn system is absolutely terrible. It is very common to spawn, and then immediately die. And the only map you can play on at the moment, isn't so good. But there are really good things about it, for example the guns work so good and the sound effects are great! And another thing they added is the most beautiful thing that was first seen in Crysis, that's right, if you click up on the D- Pad, you will be able to add perks on the fly! As it is a Crytek
game, we all expect amazing graphic, right? Well there certainly not bad, that's for sure! It's not as good as the newest Cryengine, but it still looks pretty.

Overall, if you were given the option (Which I highly recommend as it is a free game) you should certainly get due to the shear fun that can be had with the game. It is co-op as well, even though it's not exactly amazing, it's still fun to play. I hope this review helped, thanks for reading!

So if you looking some good shooters just buy call of duty. In all for a free to play its not bad. I say just give it a shot. Expand

Warface is a typical F2P FPS game featuring PvP and Co-op game modes. Players can choose from 4 different shooter archetypes including rifleman, medic, engineer, and sniper. Each role has a specific look and loadout as well as a role-specific ability. Rifleman can provide ammo to the group should anybody run out before a checkpoint. Medics, as you might've already guessed, can provideWarface is a typical F2P FPS game featuring PvP and Co-op game modes. Rifleman can provide ammo to the group should anybody run out before a checkpoint. Medics, as you might've already guessed, can provide healing to the group as well as revive a downed member -- provided they make it there in time. Engineers can replenish the groups armor. Engineers are also given a claymore, which I have yet to see used properly (or even at all). Lastly, the sniper possesses no special equipment so their role is slightly less involved than the other three.

Now comes my reasoning for the rating.

Gameplay: Since I've only played co-op I can't vouch for the PvP aspect of the game. However, I believe you can imagine what it would be like if you combine the previously mentioned 4-role game mechanic with CoD. Co-op takes place in five available maps which change daily(?). The difficulty ranges from easy to difficult and harder maps cannot be accessed until the previous ones are completed. All of the levels have some sort of boss to deal with which will, if you're not careful, eat through your revive tokens in a snap.

What I like about the gameplay is that while there is a slight learning curve, it's not steep whatsoever. Once you learn the ins and outs of a role, it's easy to succeed. After that, it's just a matter of memorizing the maps and when the boss fights are. Although the process is somewhat slow, you are able to unlock various armor and weapons as well as parts for the guns through the vendor system. Checkpoints are also a godsend because it helps save those precious revive tokens and fills your hp, armor, and grenades. Another point I'd like to make is that TEAMWORK IS IMPORTANT. Too many times have I been in a group of people who just run at a dead sprint to the end without waiting for the rest of the group. This is at the top of my list of...

Things I didn't like about the gameplay isn't just the unhelpful players but also the trolls and ragers. While it's easy to deal with the verbal ones by muting them, the more toxic ones are selfish and foolhardy. Often times other members are blamed for their failings. I know this is impossible to avoid in any online games but I digress. Another issue I have with gameplay is the repetitiveness. Sure it's a fun grind but getting later items is almost painfully slow. There is the option for VIP membership or individual boosters but I honestly don't see the point of getting them if you can just buy items with the ingame currency. The other issues I have are the 'fairness' of the enemies, specifically the bosses and the spec-op snipers. I understand that boss fights are inherently difficult but it's almost too easy for your entire group to get wiped. As for the snipers, imagine a hacker in CoD or BF games.... yea, they're like that.

    Graphics:

I'm not going to lie the game looks pretty darn good. It uses the Cryengine and the developers have really used it well. Guns and hands look great up close and the menus are put together well. Enemies come in a few flavors: grunt, shotgun, shield, sniper, and boss. All of the models remain the same from level to level. This is lazy but it adheres to the story of all the enemies are from the same corporation, Blackwood.

There are plenty of things to look at but if you look hard enough, you can also see a tiny bit of the games flaws. I have, on several occasions, seen enemies that have been killed float in the air. Their bodies frozen in place. This along with some glitches at the end of the match and the only real issues worth noting.

    Overall I gave this a 7/10.

For a free game, it's average. Even after the awful connection problems in the beta I will still sometimes encounter lag. Also, don't plan on enjoying this game if you prefer fast-pace action. The maps are too big for the team sizes.

A free game that has lots of similarities with COD. Lots of weapons, gear and equipment that can be unlocked very easily (positive and refreshing for a free game). Lots of PvP game modes and also fun to play PvE game modes. I would rate it an 8 if it would not crash so often on the Switch platform, but unfortunately it crashes at least once for every 2 hours played.

Warface is exactly like every other war-based shooter you can think of. [Issue#112, p.80]

Warface's first impression is good, but when you start to dive deeper into the game, you'll encounter some disturbing issues. Unlocking items is very hard to complete and for some people that is enough to stop playing the game completely. The overall experience is mediocre, but just won't do it for some players.

An average game made viable by its low barrier to entry - but outperformed in almost every way by the giants of its genre. One to dabble with, but think before committing real money.
