Jul 13, 2012For the price, Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown is a solid purchase, even if it's not exceptional. It's a bare-bones fighter that has the most basic of extra modes and features, but the main game is good, and the price point is hard to beat. The game is easy to pick up but difficult to master, giving you a great value for only $15. In the end, it's another release of Virtua Fighter 5. If you enjoy the series, you'll love getting a cheap and improved version. The comprehensive tutorial also makes this a great starting point for series newcomers. If you've never liked the series, though, Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown won't change your mind.

Jun 18, 2012For 1200 MS points, this is a steal, and there is much worse that you could spend more money on. Virtua Fighter appears to be entering in to its twilight years now, and it remains to be seen if it can keep up with the ongoing battle with the rejuvenated Street Fighter and Marvel fighting games, but there is still some fight left in the old dog yet.

Jun 14, 20121200 Microsoft Points gets you a fighting game that is decidedly different, but has a depth and a fighting system that's on par with the best. The rest of the package is rather lacking though, and so we'll only recommend this game to those who know exactly what they're in for.

Jun 13, 2012Virtua Fighter 5 is a very good game, and Final Showdown makes it better in many ways…but it could have been even better than that with just a few reasonable changes.
-
Jun 6, 2012If you've never played Virtua Fighter, this is the best entry yet, and if you're a fan, well, spend the $15. Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown is still everything it was in 2007 - fluid, complex, and fun. It's just not much more.
-
Jun 5, 2012Sega's budget price and DLC structure make Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown an extremely attractive offer, especially if you didn't play the original. Hopefully, the netcode improves, though, as playing worldwide opponents right now is an outright chore.
-
Jun 4, 2012Dedicated fans of the genre who maybe have gotten tired of the madness of Marvel vs. Capcom or other more crazy modern fighting games might appreciate this slightly enhanced and tweaked technical fighter. Most others, I'm afraid-myself included-probably won't find much to invest here.
