-
Faithful port from the original arcade version that will have you in stitches while competing against your on or offline buddies.
-
Unlike some classics that have been ported to XBLA, Track & Field seems to retain much of what made it fun when it first came out. It’s a title that is one of simple-to-play-yet-hard-to-master concepts—and its party potential adds to its appeal.
-
Untainted by the passing of time, and still as mindlessly entertaining as it was back in the day. Sure, Hyper Sports improved on the formula a little, and Epyx went off and took the idea to dizzy heights not long after that, but in essence this is one of those few occasions when a game concept emerged fully formed from the beginning.
-
Track and Field is a title you really can’t go wrong with and is well worth the MS points.
-
This is one of the few XBLA games that I’ve continued to play after the first week. But for most people, once you’ve figured out the patterns to win there isn’t a challenge.
-
Like the 100 meter dash, it's fun while it lasts but is over too quickly.
-
In theory, Track & Field plays best in Live competition, but lag (even when you have “full green bars” under your ping status) throws off the do-or-die timing required for precisely-timed button presses.
-
Holds up much better than you think it would, thanks in large part to the game's unforgiving difficulty and four-player action.

Official Xbox Magazine UKPleasure and pain come together at last. [Aug 2007, p.102]
-
It’s a simple (very, very simple) distraction that will beef up your gamerpoints score by another 200 and you’ll have a blast doing so.
-
X-ONE Magazine UKFor three quid, though, you could do a lot worse. [Issue#25, p.118]
-
Sure, its classic precedence for how button mashing games should be played wasn't retained perfectly, but the analog stick is a good substitution, and some players may find that an actual button-based setup works just fine for them. It's still fun, and it still hurts--but in a good way.
-
Track & Field holds up fairly well and makes for some good, albeit short-term, fun.
-
Track and Field is a welcome, but almost unnecessary port of an arcade title. Like a fart in the wind, it invokes particular emotions in everyone when it arrives, good or bad, but is swiftly forgotten with barely a hint that it was there.
-
Xbox World 360 Magazine UK"Daley's Decathalon" on the Spectrum was bigger and better, but it was a rip off of the original. Know your roots. [Nov 2007, p.96]
-
Official Xbox MagazineThis limping Track & Field deserves no medals, let alone any of your Microsoft Points. [July 2007, p.81]
-
Whether or not this is worth the 400 Microsoft points, is entirely up to how much fun you think you can squeeze out of a very limited game with next to no variety.

DarrenD.Oct 1, 2007Good old school button mashing to the max (lol) It's exactly how I remembered it. They should now release Daley Thompsons Decathlon.
