Mar 10, 2011Procedural generation is obviously the path to true gaming goodness, and these guys bring it.
I think this may be the greatest achievement in western civilization. At least for XBLA games developed by a couple dozen alcoholics. GET IT NOW! -

Mar 15, 2011Very similar feeling to Diablo in regards to hack and slash, loot collecting. User interface very easy to use and understand. Only issues are frame rate once in a while and the ability to move the camera with right thumb stick 360 degrees would have been great with co op added which in itself could be added on a follow up to this or as DLC.

Mar 9, 2011If you love collecting loot and you want more Diablo but with different visuals, then this is the game for you. There is plenty of ways to customize your character's abilities and combat is rewarding; even if repetitive at times.

Mar 10, 2011If you are looking for a well-constructed dungeon-crawler and RPG, the XBLA version of Torchlight is a great bargain (1200 points). It has a few problems but consistently redeems itself -- this is a game made by people who love gaming and it shows!

May 18, 2012The game is very fun at first. But a six, because of it having no storyline to follow, no good cutscenes, too few classes and too little variety. Still, a great Diablo-clone. The PC version deserves a seven or an eight, but the Xbox one has too many technical issues...

Mar 9, 2011I've been playing Torchlight on Steam, and it's good, clean, old school gamer fun. Of course it feels like Diablo, it's meant to. Heck, half the Diablo people are in here in one way or another. Love it though and I'll be grabbing it for Xbox as well. I only wish we could do multi-player. Can we?

Mar 12, 2011This game is OK, and good for an arcade game. It has a retro style, which i like, but i just cant see past the issues with the storyline and the gameplay, it just spoils the experience. All in all, i wouldnt spend the money on this, go for an actual game for better experiences.
-
Mar 15, 2011I feel as if this game plays better on pc. It feels like a generic action game on the console. Just doesn't feel like anything new on the console. I think they should have added some co-op to the game. Torchlight is a decent game, I think 15 bucks for this is a little much, but it is what it is.

Mar 18, 2011Lots of fun for 1200 MSP. It can get a little boring if you arent really into the dungeon raiding scene but the amount of loot you get makes you want to keep going. The spells are cool and the amount of items is staggering for an arcade game. Definitely a buy if you were a fan of the Diablo series.
-
Mar 18, 2011Other than some frame-rate issues, the console version of this PC time-sink is great. I love that I can pick this game up and play for 15 minutes, or all night. The zoom feature on 360 is much smoother than on my laptop. Great port of an excellent game!
-
Mar 15, 2011Amazing and funny. Easy to play, easy to enjoy. I loved it at PC, and it remains great at XBOX!
1200 MS Points for hours and hours of destruction...
A must have for clasic Diablo hack'n'slash games' lover. -
Mar 29, 2011Torchlight is an average video game. If you like dungeon crawler RPG's then this game will be entertaining for you. However, if you are a fan of open-world RPG's or Action RPG's then you won't find the game play of Torchlight entertaining.

Mar 26, 2011Torchlight is amazing!! If you love Diablo, Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance, Champions of Norrath, or any other hank n' slash dungeon crawling RPG you will looooove Torchlight! I have been waiting a year and it was well worth the wait. In this day and age I am not a fan of point and click PC dungeon crawlers. We have controllers. We have analog sticks...time to upgrade the formula. A must buy!

Apr 15, 2011Great game at a pretty good price just a classic dungeon crawl game with some great controls and pretty eye pleasing visuals the game feels a lot like diablo 2 and thats a good thing! If you like RPGs check this one out
-
Apr 23, 2011Basic dungeon crawler done right. Reminded me of Diablo for the original playstation with just way better visuals. The only downfall is no multiplayer support. Maybe next time.
-
May 10, 2011Favorite Cosole RPG since Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance. Wish there were a few more base locations. When you finish a quest you always go back to the same city, and almost always the same npc. Still gets a 10 from me though.
-
Sep 21, 2012Wow..just wow. I played this game 3 hours and they got me! Itemization and randomization are great! Graphics then i saw it on my PC..cool too! Well constructed dungeons, bosses, mini-bosses.. fast ACTION! 9/10 from me!

Jun 1, 2011Very fun dungeon crawler. Lots of enemies, loot, spells, character customization is all there and very well executed. But no co-op? Really? That blew me away as I thought that was mandatory by now for all dungeon crawling hack and slash types. Good game but if they would have added co-op it would have been great. I guess we will have to wait and see if Torchlight 2 can do it right.
-
Jun 3, 2011The lack of multiplayer was sorely missed...especially with the wild variety of items to collect. I'm all for replay value, but one could grow bored of the repetition long before he ever completed an item set...even a mediocre one. Still, the same detail stands as a major selling point as well. With so many toys to find and use the game is sometimes hard to put down.

Jan 19, 2012Torchlight was a lot of fun to play. The price for the value is just great. I highly recommend this game to everybody. No, the game is not as good as Diablo but neither is the price.

May 15, 2012+Fluid combat, +Cheap, +Three Classes each with three skill branches, +Pets, +Decent loot system, +Character to character item transfer. -No online play, -Dull environments, -Story is generic. Same as my PC review but had to take a point off due to lack of mods. Still a great game for Diablo fans.
-
Oct 6, 2012A nice entry into the ARPG world. Although missing some polish this is still a thoroughly enjoyable experience that carries high bang for buck and a very nice artistic style.

Sep 11, 2013Diablo 2's spiritual successor. Unlike Diablo 3, Torchlight 2 doesn't around and focuses on the more engaging parts of being an action RPG deep character customization, addicting gameplay, tons of content to unlock and explore, and rewarding loot.
