Call of Duty with planes. How could that not be cool? Like most games, if you like the genre, you'll like the game. So. if you like flying games, this one will be awesome. I DON'T count myself as a flying game fan, but with the aesthetics and the mix of missions I enjoyed this one, allot.

You can't trust any reviews that give this game a 0! The game is not broken and plays well with very few bugs, so there is no way a score of 0 is fair even if you didnâ

Since the game was never advertised as a flight simulator I think that some people are jumping the gun when saying that it's a bad flight sim. It's really just supposed to be a super advanced arcade plane-y shooter. And that's exactly what it is, and it's actually a hell of a lot of fun. The graphics are AMAZING, the controls are pretty good, and the planes are thoroughly detailed. Ace Combat has never offered much more than this, for example. Expand

All I gotta say is that if you haven't played this game, get it, and explore the AESTHETIC HEROIN ADDICTION OF OFF MODE. OFF MODE.

    PLAY IT.

    So cool. You'll see.

at first i thought it was silly because the missions seemed to be a bunch of training-wheels BS, but when you get to the second half of the game or so the missions begin to really kick your ass. needless to say the graphics, controls, and technical detail are OUTSTANDING, but give the missions some time. you'll see why it was somewhat easy in the beginning...

First off,I have to commend Ubisoft for not just making the first game, but for making a sequel also,in what some would consider a niche genre of game.Though it is a niche genre, many peoplethough seem to want this kind of game,& more of them(I'm one of them). The single best thing that can be said of both titles,is the 4-player Campaign Co-Op.This had never been done in any flight game to myFirst off,I have to commend Ubisoft for not just making the first game, but for making a sequel also,in what some would consider a niche genre of game.Though it is a niche genre, many peoplethough seem to want this kind of game,& more of them(I'm one of them). The single best thing that can be said of both titles,is the 4-player Campaign Co-Op.This had never been done in any flight game to my knowledge, certainly on console(Ace Combat 6 doesnt have 'Campaign' Co-Op,just some lazy half baked 'Side mode' Co-Op challenges. This on its own makes the game astounding,& many people had been crying out for this since,well,forever.. So Kudos to you Developers for that,& also listening to feedback from the first game,& included much wanted features like night missions,Precision Bombing,Taxiing,Take off's & landings(carrier landings also),In flight re-fueling & the need to replenish weapons,& custom weapon loadouts.ALL fantastic features! Now onto the negatives.Although the handling & physics have been significantly improved over Hawx1,Its still not perfect. It doesnt have to be 'totally' realistic on the physics, that it would take the fun out of it.If you want to see a good exaple of the perfect balance, play Ace Combat 6 on the 360.The planes actually feel like they have weight to them,& are being affected by gravity.Another gripe i have with Hawx 2,is the much vaunted 'Using Drones'.I thought they might be controlable/movable,while in your plane,to find & mark targets, much like in Gost Recon-Advanced Warfighter, but what we got,was specific drone missions. This didnt work at all.. I found them quite laborious & tedious.Even the C130 Spectre parts. No one understandably wants to do them when playing Co-Op,for said reasons,& just gets in the way of the actual flying in the campaign.i would rather(& i'm sure i speak for the majority here),that we'd have had more missions in the **** these drone missions. So if theres a Hawx3,please dont bother with it.just give us more **** missions. Also, not EVERY mission has to be a 'All or Nothing,Save the World,Revelation of a mission'.We play these games for the fun of it,not for just for the plot. Most flyers would like to see 'everyday' missions thrown in,such as Combat Air Patrols, featuring Mid Air & ground Refueling,& of course some combat, not missions that are part of some big scenario, but just simple combat missions.Would also add much longevity to the campaign too.If it wasnt for the intrusive drone missions,& short number of **** missions,i'd have given this a 9 or 10.If we do get a Hawx3(I hope we do)& you take the ideas i mentioned into consideration, then you really will have an Ace Combat Killer on your hands(& a perfect score from me). Also, can we also change camera view, without having to do it through the menu,Thanks. Loved it, the long campaign is purely epic, the multiplayer satisfying and the other modes are really good, great package overall with good graphics and great music. The variety of planes and equipment make it great and the challenges are fun to complete and overall it doesn't fail.

Overall HAWX 2 tries to build on the solid foundations laid by the original game by adding more variety, but ultimately it fails to recreate the action packed feeling the first game did so well and simply doesn't make the same impact.
  2. An improvement on the first game, but this still lacks the variety and thrills to be considered a true top gun.
  3. Hawx 2 is an entertaining flight action game with great graphics, control and variations of missions. Unfortunately the game is also dragged by bugs and a few dull missions. In general the game is fun and offers good variation of action. If only the story was better and the flaws had been ironed out it could have been the best action flight game so far – in gaming history.
