The story here has been sublime throughout, but as a game The Wolf Among Us still feels remote. [Issue#114, p.84]

While there's room to improve, The Wolf Among Us has remained stylish and enjoyable since the beginning, and I'm eager to see how it all ends.

Granted, in terms of gameplay there's still really not too much here and I don't think Telltale is about to change that. But if you can live with that, the story will continue to suck you in like little else.

As a story, then, The Wolf Among Us is coming together nicely. As a game, it still feels remote, a little snagged on the same repetitive systems. With The Walking Dead, Telltale showed us a new way to experience stories via a joypad. As it takes on more and more projects, it really needs to show that its new formula is as flexible as it is formidable.

Exposition-heavy, yet light on actual plot development, In Sheep’s Clothing is perhaps the weakest episode of The Wolf Among Us to date.

I have no doubt that when everything is said and finished, this chapter will prove to be important to telling the story as a whole, it just lacks the depth and impact I have come to expect from The Wolf Among Us up until now.

Inconsequential and frustratingly restrictive, this is by far the worst episode of the season – and you can only hope the finale will be good enough to make up for it.

This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. This episode of the epic series is very critical in finding important details about the Crooked Man, but was the most general and lacks key points that could be introduced to further the gameplay. I feel that this episode was simply an intro to the end of the game and didn't include enough to be its own episode. I also wasn't satisfied on how Beauty and Beast changed their personalities so quickly. Initially, I thought that Beauty was a kind, humble person that was quickly there to help. Once I saw the image of their rich and fancy apartment, I can't help but take them as spoiled and selfish. Also the choices weren't as critical because Bigby still got to visit both the Lucky Pawn and the Meat Place. This doesn't put pressure on the player and therefore causes less suspense in the game. This game overall is very well put together and detailed. It is very atmospheric and is very popular due to the fact that you can "Choose your own Adventure". This game is truly unique just like all of the "Tell Tale Games" productions. This episode sets the stage, for what should be, a very interesting finale! Full Review »

We were able to figure something's outUp to this episode we have been trying to piece together what is actually going on within fable town. We were able to figure something's out but this episode reveals how unstable fable town has become. This episode starts to put the pieces of the puzzle together and helps give us greater insight into what makes fable town tick.
Although there still seems to be some technical difficulties within the game, it does detract from how the end of this episode sets the finale of the series up very nicely...I can't wait!

The characters seem more fleshed out as well. The downside is that this episode suffers from some technical difficulties. Full Review »
