The Sims 3: Pets

Overall, The Sims 3: Pets on the Xbox 360 is a fun and addictive game where the time will fly by and you will not notice it. A few bugs do affect the gameplay from time to time but do seem to be rare.

Charming and full of content.

The Sims 3: Pets is very recommendable if you're a true animal lover or new to the series.

While it's probably best suited to fans of the franchise, the game's gorgeous animal antics are guaranteed to generate warm fuzzies in all but the coldest of hearts.

If you already have The Sims 3 for Xbox 360, Pets isn't really worth the full game price tag. If you're a true animal lover or new to the series, a good pick. Be sure to make room on your Xbox harddrive to install the game and keep load times down and performance up.

The Sims 3: Pets won't change the minds of those who had no interest in the series. Due to the lack of some content and performance issues, it also won't convince PC die-hards that a console version can be on par with a computer.

The Sims 3: Pets is an excellent title also on consoles. Unfortunately a not very user-friendly interface and many loading screens dirty work otherwise flawless.

It's goofy, deeply involving fun.

For gamers who just want a chance to make their own pretty kitty and then watch it scratch up the furniture, The Sims 3 Pets delivers. If you want a Sims experience that builds on previous installments, incorporates your progress from The Sims 3, and actually makes your simulated world more interesting…well, better luck next time.

Though expanding and enriching the Sims 3 experience, the adding of the Pets hardly justify the full price of this product, which remains an expansion in every respect. The loss of the horses in the console version is another mystery of this questionable marketing strategy. Nonetheless, real fans of the series and who doesn't own the third chapter can find a great amount of Sims contents and experiences inside this title.

I still don't get how making breakfast or taking a bath can take up half the day, but the real fun in Sims 3 Pets comes from recreating all your past and current pets over the years.

It's cute, and you can use the character creator to build some ruddy adorable puppies and kittens. But if you've got The Sims 3, this might feel like little more than a loveable but only semi-substantial expansion pack. On it's own, it's yet another decent slice of wholemeal life-sim.

Retailing for $49.95, The Sims 3 Pets is a solid game that provides hours of creative and exploratory sandbox gameplay.

The console version of The Sims 3 Pets makes use of its platform and delivers an experience with small changes suited for consoles. It is by no means bad, it's just that the PC version is better in most ways.

Whether it's purposefully terrorizing humans or watching your dog head off to work in its own cab, The Sims 3: Pets is a fun and funny way to tackle a virtual life – but that's if you can get over the stuttering animations and load times.

It's a Sims game. I think it's well put together, easy to control and geared for players that enjoy making up their own fun. It has a little more focus this time out thanks to the mysteries you can solve, but I didn't find the addition of pets to be all that thrilling.

Giving the pets the same depth and personality options as your regular Sims is a welcome addition, however I am not sure that it is enough to draw in any new fans to the franchise.

The Sims 3: Pets doesn't add much to the series aside from cats and dogs, but it's hard to resist the charm they bring with them.

This expansion brings frequent loading times, a horrible framerate and slow gameplay. Moreover, where are the horses, snakes and birds? Thankfully the dogs and cats happen to be extremely cute.

Even if sold stand alone on consoles, The Sims 3 Pets is just an expansion pack: it won't revolutionize the gameplay of the third chapter, and some gameplay feature aren't deep as we would've liked. Add bugs and missing optimization on consoles, and what you have is a title suited just for sims maniac.

Very poor value if you already own last year's version, but even if you don't the console version is still badly compromised compared to the PC.

A decent console version that adds cats and dogs to the Sims formula, which makes it more fun. But the buggy adaptation makes the experience poorer, although this is a good game.
