    A breath of fresh air when every other historical first person shooter is focusing on World War II, but unfortunately the game isn’t interesting enough to warrant a $50 purchase when you pick up the substantially better "Call of Duty 3" for a few dollars more.

    The History Channel Civil War is a nice alternative to other World War II shooters, but you might want to rent it on a rainy weekend. It's a shame because The History Channel footage is really well integrated into the game.

    I gave it a 10 because the graphics are really good, the sound is awesome and when you bayonet people you just feel plain good.

    I got this game on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. It is a much tougher kind of first person shooter than others in the genre with its I got this game on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. It is a much tougher kind of first person shooter than others in the genre with its weaponry from the 1800s that requre each shot to really matter vs something like HALO 2 where you got a gun in each hand spittin a 100 bullets a second. Being produced by Activision it has a similar control scheme and feel to Call of Duty, except you can't crawl on the ground, only crouch. The battles are just as chaiotic however. With virtually zero advertising on this game out there it is a gem surely to be overlooked.… Expand

The missions are so linear it's a bit dull at times, and the guns take a while to reload, but that makes it more real I guess, the graphics were better than I would have thought. But this ultimatly this is a pretty fun game, sure it's super short, and you could probably beat it in a day, it's not worth 50$, it's basically what the name suggest, it's a game developed by History buffs" and thats exactly what you get out of it.… Expand
