  1. Tenchu fans will definitely not be disappointed. Tenchu Senran is easily the best Tenchu game to date. [JPN Import]

Ninja games being as rare as they've become, its nice to have "Tenchu" back, especially given the number of refinements FROM have added, along with the online play. [June 2007, p.74]

A fantastic game! I had loads of fun and huge replayability factor, I only wish it had more missions so I can keep on playing!

LOVED THIS GAME! I played and beat all 50 missions about 5 times over. It may be a little repetitive, but think about it! If you were aLOVED THIS GAME! I played and beat all 50 missions about 5 times over. It may be a little repetitive, but think about it! If you were a skilled ninja assassin would you switch things up in the middle of a mission? Hell no! Your go in there do your thing bust some ass and garentee you make it home Full Review »

Yes, it falls short of next-gen graphical standards... yes, it re-treads some familiar Tenchu ground... yes, the AI is still stuck in 1999...Yes, it falls short of next-gen graphical standards... yes, it re-treads some familiar Tenchu ground... yes, the AI is still stuck in 1999...

But it's also the most refined Tenchu game yet... your ninja can do more than ever (e.g. paralyzing blows, chained stealth kills, kills through japanese sliding doors) and the stealth concept is ever more fleshed out, as there are now more ways than ever to get detected, meaning greater strategy is needed to, say, keep the moonlight from reflecting off your weapon.

Oh, and making a grand, overdue comeback to the series: the ability to sheath your bloody sword!!

My only real gripe is that the main character is quite generic (although with a customizable look) and the story is more of a collection of missions than an evolving saga. So, no Rikimaru, no Ayame, no Tenryu or Mei-Oh, just "you are ninja, now go ninja these people..."

All told, this game manages to stay mucho fun through all 50 missions, despite not making any of the quantum leaps we expect from next-gen sequels.
