all and all a great game. This port is top notch. I would have given it a 10 , but having to stretch the screen to 16.9 my self hurts. I was hoping they would have scaled it more 16.9. Oh well still a great game.

A six is all I can give this side sscrolling button mashing fighting game. I know its an XBLA title, but still. This has abouot as much replay value to me as gauntlet.

Good port of a timeless classic. the xbox live multiplayer is great aside from the losers that refuse to play for fear of losing rating points. the single player however, is ridiculously flawed...the AI is just too difficult. even the most seasoned SF2 veteran will be pulling thier hair out in rage when facing the cold cheap ruthlessly hard computer. a great addition to XBLA. just makeGood port of a timeless classic. the xbox live multiplayer is great aside from the losers that refuse to play for fear of losing rating points. the single player however, is ridiculously flawed...the AI is just too difficult. even the most seasoned SF2 veteran will be pulling thier hair out in rage when facing the cold cheap ruthlessly hard computer. a great addition to XBLA. just make sure you have a gold account or friends to play against as the singleplayer game is the single most frustrating gaming experience in years. not good at all. it is just to slow on the 360. the 360 can not handdle this game. and you are still paying $8 for it so that is just a rip off when there is mortal kombat for the same price or Fatal fury special for $4 only so you save $4. just get this game for a diffrrent system. the ps2, and supper nes is where this game belongs.

Very poor port indeed, 360 controller does nothing for the combo system, lag makes a joke out the 'Hyper' inclusion. Once you do get a decent match without lag there is no sure fire way of having a re-match against that player. I love Street Fighter but DAMN is this game hard. It's way harder then the old console versions as this XBLA version is a direct port of the arcade game (designed to be difficult in order to eat more quarters). Even on the easiest difficulty setting I can't get passed about the 5th guy. The AI is just way too responsive.

The computer is cheap, but no more cheap than I remember the original console ports to the SNES and Genesis being. The online play is great but you have to deal with the regular mix of nice people & racist/immature people that get mad if they lose. The controls also don't port over to the x-box controller as well as they did the SNES & Genesis controllers. Moves that require a rotation of the analog stick or D-pad such as Ryu's fireball can frustrating to pull off, especially in a tight spot. But, quite frankly, it's Street Fighter! Online!!! And that's a blast. If you want a walk down memory lane, I highly suggest this title. Expand

This game was ported terribly. The Capcom classic collection for regular x-box was much more true to the feel of the original. The controls in this version feel slugish and unresponsive. Playing on x-box live is VERY laggy. Definately not worth $10.

Poor port. Single player is insanely difficult, and multiplayer is laggy and annoying. 2 since it looks pretty accurate from the original. Otherwise, it's a waste of what could have been a cool game.

A port of the classic Nintendo system with problems in the playability , the persistent desire to be a good player in the game is an impossible task to achieve. But get use to it back in the 90's everything was like that. Expand

This game is such a disappointment. Graphics are good for a 1993 fighting game but the gameplay is anything but "hyper". I respect this game's simplicity and the limited moves list of characters makes the game less complex; especially given that there are no supers, ultras or EX moves. No meter, pure skill from round one. The screen is too small though, and there isn't an offline versus mode. My main issue with this game isn't the game mechanics, characters or moves. It's the pacing. Very slow, very boring and skill cap is way too low. Throws do too much damage and the animation lasts for way too long. The whole point of simplifying the game by removing meter and giving characters less moves and calling it "Hyper Fighting" is surely to make it fast-paced. But it's painfully slow, and this isn't aided by the overpowered throws and lack of ability to tech them. Avoid this game unless you really need a tried-and-tested 2D fighting game. Expand

How much you like this game will probably depend on your age. I was in high school when this came out, so it brought back great memories of mopping up the arcade floor with random punks. Online is probably laggy since it doesn't use GGPO, but since no one plays this anymore I don't know. If you can find at least 1 buddy for couch vs it's a blast. Pure, simple and perfect. (and only $5)

It's not worth getting for single-player. The AI is broken in a way that it will react and counter your moves by having the instant reaction times only an unthinking machine can have. [Issue #7, p.120]
  2. It's an old game, but it's still fun, and as long as you're not a tournament level player, you'll enjoy the game despite the slight hiccups during online play.
  3. Another very cool and nostalgic online treat is the Quarter Match mode that allows players to relive the days of lining up quarters waiting to take on the winner of any match in “I got next” style competition. The online lobby displays a coin/icon for each player along with their Gamertag and the order in which they are in line to play.
