    Saints Row: The Third is a game that doesn't take itself seriously....and that's why it's so great. It is over the top done right, and games were made to not take itself seriously in the first place. I love the cast of characters and it's a game i would recommend. Buy one, no hell buy 2 so you can give one to your friend and you can both destroy the city in style.

With the third installment, however, I just think they were out of good ideas, and so they just threw stuff at a wall to see what would stick.     This game is pretty fun and interesting... The game is extremely fun and epic. The action is amazing! I love to use melee combat on brutes like a badass or do a brutal kill animation to those c*** sucking STAG Soldiers. Character customization is really good and fun to toy with. Although it is addicting and awesome, the game has many cons: The graphics are sort of outdated; It is short compared to other Saints Row Games; The DLC's are cool looking, but they are basically rip-offs... They are worth too much money to pay for... One of them is $20 (And no! It is not an expansion pack DLC); Multiplayer is mostly dropped (They only have co-op and whored mode, and you have to buy a season pass for 800 MC Points), and the endings are kind of lame (the good ending has little effort, the bad ending is epic, but I hate bad endings). Overall the game is fun, but if you are a serious gamer... You might not like it.… Expand

    The game is great, but I feel that there is less to explore not as much content as before. Even so what it lacks in longer story and more exploration it makes up in well....crazy sh***t so its worth every dollar. I highly recommend it to fans of senseless violence.

    Arguably the most over the top and best Saints Row game yet. I know that a lot of people believe that this game re-hashes a lot of elements from Saints Row 2, but I haven't played Saints Row 2 enough to make this argument myself. I love the super over the top feel that this game brought compared to the very first game, but still had the same feel as the previous installments.     One of the best sandbox games so far. Was kinda short and sweet. DLC is OK. I would recommend this game if you the GTA series before GTA 4. I rate it about 8.5.

    A game that took me by surprise. The game offers a ridiculous amount of content in an open world environment that is full of life and humour.

    The story missions are so fun and so silly, which caused me to have a silly grin pretty much all the way through the game. The game can also be a little overwhelming in terms of the amount of enemies you have to kill and the brutes can be VERY    A game that took me by surprise. The game can also be a little overwhelming in terms of the amount of enemies you have to kill and the brutes can be VERY annoying, but after a few upgrades you're unstoppable.

    The side missions are also great, such as the mayhem and insurance fraud side missions which are designed to be silly and fun. There are exceptions on the missions where you are A.I dependant, such as the dealing missions and escort missions, where the A.I are sluggish and often get stuck on objects, forcing a restart. This kept the score from being perfect as it happened on a fair few occurrences.

    To conclude: an amazingly fun game that was a breath of fresh air to me, a game where it takes the meaning of fun and gives it you in huge barrels.    … Expand

    Saints Row: The Third is unlike any game I have ever played. It is crazy, yet also hilarious. Those who want to laugh for hours should play this game. The gunplay eventually feels a little bit stale, but new weapons help to spice up the gameplay.

    I'm shocked to be saying this, but this THQ game is good. The gameplay may not be super original, but it is still fun. The story isn't amazing but is quite enjoyable. I am ashamed to say, I have spend over 10 minutes on the streaking minigame alone.

I love Saints Row 3, 4 and Gat out of Hell and I think Saints Row The Third even better than Grand Theft Auto IV and Mafia II . In this game storyline is better than in GTA IV and MII and gameplay and physics much better than in GTA IV and all the sameThis game is very amazing and have got him moments .     Avec l'expérience engrangée lors des missions, on débloque des "aptitudes" pas banales qui tiennent presque de la triche (!), car tout est possible dans SR 3 : des munitions illimitées, des frappes aériennes... envie de faire le ménage en hélico ? no problemo. Tout écraser avec un char ? le jeu vous en prie ! et ainsi de suite... on se surprend à rigoler devant sa télé tant Volition a mis le paquet et les **** plats dans les grands. Le défoulement à l'état pur.

    Parfois quelques bugs (une cible à voler qui s'autodétruit quand on arrive...) et bien qu'en progrès depuis SR2, les graphismes restent loin d'un GTA 4 et la ville également dans son ensemble. De surcroît, ça rame encore plus souvent que le jeu de Rockstar, un comble. On regrette aussi l'absence de voix VF.

    Je termine avec le dernier point fort de SR 3 : la personnalisation toujours aussi poussée de son personnage (qui peut être féminin ce qui ne gâche rien, loin de là...) digne des Sims, un régal.    … Expand

    The most refined of the series. While some of the activities of SR 2 have been removed, everything else has been improved. In addition to the campaign, there's a horde mode and online co-op. If you liked the previous two entries, then you'll like this one too. It's Jackass meets GTA. I'd rate it with an 8.4 out of 10.

    A total blast. Leader in open world absurdism before GTA V ran with a lot of what SR3 did. Light on story but heavy on fun. Worth a buy if you haven't played.

    Saints Row The Third is a good game. SR3 is a open world game game set in a city called Silport with a good missions and good side activities but the game play is ok. SR3 isn't as good as Saints Row 2.

    I was genuinely surprised with this game. I expected it to be a horrible but it's pretty fun and I enjoyed the story for what it was. I think your expectations really determine how you'll feel about, expect a lot of over the top elements and a bunch of goofy shenanigans.

Graphics are behind a few years and sounds of the environments are not synchronized with the actions taking place. The main story in these games seem to be generally the same, with no innovations. Yes this is a open world modern day action game, but Saints Row the Third lacks structure in giving you more interesting side missions outside of your everyday bad ass actions. If your itching over this summer for GTA 5, buy Saints Row the Third for a discounted price and enjoy some open world chaos.… Expand

    This game tried to be over the top and lost sight of what made the 2nd one great, which was that the wiriting had a serious tone with some funny moments, but ultimately you were a hardened street gangster and the story kept in line with that with moments of death, revenge, losing gang members etc but never taking the feel of the game out of the context it was set in. The game loses it's gritty appeal by doing this, the missions force you to do some of the 'activities' that were in the other one as filler to the main quest line (which is annoying). Following the story ultimately it doesn't evoke any type of feeling in the gamer as the writers are made to go for over the top stunts and gags that get old real quick. The saving grace is that the two player online co-op for the whole game is back and is still enjoyable. Overall I'd recommend saints row 2 over this one especially to play with a friend, it has a better story, better activities (which are optional) and is overall a better game.… Expand

SR2 had a compelling story compaired to this one. The real missions seem few and far between and mini games are forced to be played as part of the main story. Maybe I was just expecting more.     Beat the game within 2 days of owning it. Co-op works great that is IF you have a person to play with because the "Steam Matchmaking" option does not work at all so its impossible to find anyone else to play with unless they are friends.     This is easily the best Saints Row game available. Very over the top, even for Saints Row... which is why I'm a little disappointed. It looks amazing, very clean. Very FUN! The death of Johnny Gat hit me like the Death of Optimus Prime in the original Transformers movies from the 80s. ( Its in the first 10-20 or so minutes don't think I ruined your experience) The story has a good base, many of the activities return from the previous games. Some new ones like Tank Mayhem, are fun. All of the old faces are there, Shondi, Pierce, Gat, and some new faces which I think they made to much of a reach for. A wrestler (Voiced by Hulk Hogan), a pimp (who sounds like T-Pain & gets extremely irritating very quickly) and an EX FBI agent. All of which I THINK they could have done a better job on. The unlocks are all based on respect you now have to purchase them, which i think extends the game play the cars are great. They even brough on some actual Rim companies to make them more accurate and true to like looking(Lexani for one) A nice step up, but to far out in my opinion.    … Expand

But in my opinion, Saints Row: The Third is very much a worthy alternative to Rockstar's latest offering, for the most part - it was pretty clear from the beginning where Volition was taking The Third; over the top - wacky, creative,It has to be said, the parallels to the GTA series and it's ever familiar carjacking, cop shooting, gangbanging (bowling?) gameplay are no coincidence. But in my opinion, Saints Row: The Third is very much a worthy alternative to Rockstar's latest offering, for the most part - it was pretty clear from the beginning where Volition was taking The Third; over the top - wacky, creative, unadulterated, colourful fun (and all in co-op! Which is as fun as it has ever been) which for me, is why. After the incredible experience that was San Andreas, I was as excited as anyone about GTA IV. I played Saints Row and it was fun for what it was; a thinly veiled, cheap but admirably tongue in cheek GTA knock-off. And I, like a lot of people, was expecting a lot from IV. And in many ways, it delivered. But in my opinion, it missed the mark in so many others, but not to turn this into a review of GTA IV... My point is, Saints Row: The Third appeals to me because it really hits a lot of those marks GTA missed. The world is vibrant and colourful as opposed to GTA IV's washy pallet of browns and greys. The side activities at least seem worthwhile (again, bowling with Roman). The actual gameplay has improved a lot since Saints Row 2. Everything is a lot better, most notably the driving. The combat is fun and the weapons are satisfying enough. Explosions are beautiful to behold, in fact. And many of the control frustrations experienced in GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption are thankfully not a problem here. The game generally has a good sense of humour, if a little immature at times (the massive, floppy **** and balls **** bat falls into this category in my opinion) and most of the characters are enjoyable enough (although a few are just a little bit irritating, especially the pimp that talks in **** auto-tune). The story is predictably nothing incredible, what with having to hold together so many random gameplay elements, but it's enough, and when you're enjoying so many wacky co-op shenanigans, who cares? This isn't GTA, after all. And if you enjoyed Saints Row 2, you'll know what to expect.

    But as someone that really enjoyed Saints Row 2, I have a couple of small complaints. One of the fun things about Saints Row 2 was the insane amount of customisation options you could play with. Everything from your character's appearance and some fun characteristics to giving your car a tacky spoiler and retractable **** wheel scythes, chariot style. However, in The Third, Volition have sadly watered this down somewhat. Clothing is now mostly bought in outfits and aside from the predictable wacky mascot and ninja costumes there are seemingly nowhere near as many options. You can run around looking stupid but I'll bet it won't be your carefully crafted stupid, just the bright pink mascot costume you've resorted to because nothing else appealed. And I could swear there are a couple of duplicated items with different names... The car customisation offers about the same level of possibilities. The only notable additions, aside from the new cars and their options, is neon under glow and a couple of licensed bits and pieces that to me seem out of place, as someone cynical about advertising and product placement, which isn't limited to the garage, tsk tsk... And you still can't so much as change the colour of any air or water vehicles. Although it is still hilariously called 'Rim-Jobs'... It's also lacking the constant rewards you used to get upon completing the many activities, as well as ditching the eight levels format. Although the upgrades system is undeniably good.

    If I have to give it a number, it'll be a seven. It's worth playing, more so with a buddy. But as much as an improvement on the series as it is, I can't help but feel like it abandoned at least a couple of the things that made me such a fan of the last game. And chances are a fourth Saints Row would be even more of a departure... I'm sure I'll still have plenty of fun with this though, and I'm sure most of you would too.    … Expand

The voice acting is much better than some AAA titles out there and the story isnt to bad either. But its anything but original.     What a letdown this game was. It pales in comparison to the first two in the series. The story was forgettable, the characters were bland, and after you beat the game, there is really no reason to keep playing. SR1 and SR2 had me playing long after I beat the story, while after I beat SR3, I didn't play much afterwards. SR1 and 2 also had a great balance of seriousness and silliness to it.What a letdown this game was. It pales in comparison to the first two in the series.     I was a big fan of Saints Row 2 and I was excited for the next installment. Saints Row 2 had a really well done story and the gameplay was well done, Stilwater felt cool and realistic, And the activities were sooo much fun. So when Saints Row: The Third came out I was looking forward to it. Unfortunately, It did not live up to expectations. The new city of Steelport was pretty bland andI was a big fan of Saints Row 2 and I was excited for the next installment. The new city of Steelport was pretty bland and boring and hard to look at, The pedestrians all blend in and all look the same, and every street looks the same. The story isn't really that interesting or memorable, It seems like Volition said "Let's have a bunch of crazy s**t happen and built a story around it" which makes the story only 10 hours long which may sound long but Saint's Row 2's story was about almost 20 hours long. The new activities weren't that interesting, A bunch of activities that were fun in SR2 are gone. Now they've been replaced with pretty basic ones like Tank Mayhem and Guardian Angel (Professor Genki's Super Ethical Reality Climax is pretty fun though). Customization is pretty lacking though, In Saints Row 1 & 2 you could customize your character to have an overshirt, an undershirt, Buttoned or Unbuttoned etc. In Saints Row: The Third you can't do any of that. If it sounds like there's no fun in this game, that's not the case at all. This is probably one of the best games of 2011. If you have a friend on Xbox Live, PSN Or Steam, Go play co-op because it is so much fun! So the question is "Is this better than Saints Row 2?" No, Saints Row 2 is better in a lot of ways but this is still a great game! Hope Saints Row 4 is awesome!… Expand

    The game is pretty good and it did a good job a establishing a more unique identity from Grand Theft Auto but the amount of cut content from SR2 is just too much for me to even consider having a conversation about which one is better. To me, 2 is undeniably a better game in almost every single aspect. That's why, for a long time, I really didn't like Saints Row 3.

    Nowadays, I'm closer to the middle. I can appreciate it for what it is but I won't forget how much substance is gone from Saints Row 2... but on its own, it ain't half bad.

    The third entry of the Saints Row series, while fun, holds the player's hand a bit too much and reduces the majority of missions to simple tutorials and mini-games. Fans of the previous two installments will also be disappointed to find out that Volition really didn't do much to advance the plot. That said, let's hope Saints Row 4 focuses more on the protagonist tracking down Dex.

    Crazy, fun, but highly inappropriate. This game is fun, but it lacks taste and an actual authentic script. It's over the top, but not in a good way.

    Tried it out at a friend's house. Too crazy for me, almost chaotic, but that is why it is fun too. Just not for me, reminds me of GTA just too ridiculous.

The plot is poorly made and there is little improvement on the graphics from the last one. However it is fun once in a while (just as i said before) to mindlessly blow someone's head off.     The game is decent however it falls short when compared to a lot of the other sandbox games. Not very original and the game is quite short. Graphics seem dated and there seems to be no true character development throughout the story

    If zany and ridiculous game play is your thing, this is where to find it. However, the story is a massive step back from the previous installment. It's definitely fun, but there's not much to it besides its over the top violence and insanity.

    I got a few laughs out of this, but gave up on it about 70% of the way through. I had a hard time relating to my character, who spoke like a zombie because all of the other voices were too annoying, and the gratuitous revelry in violence was a little much.

    While i am enjoying this game I cant help feeling its just a rip-off of the GTA series without the same level of polish. Definately enjoying the tongue in cheek action but it could have used a lot more work on finer details prior to release

    Great Game for your First playthrough but after completion not much to do unlike sr2 were there is a ton of fun activity's and you can go into to tons of buildings and the cheats are so much better. but on sr the third there is hardly any buildings to go in the map is smaller and most of the clothes stores are planet saints. the best cheat in the game cant even be used in bloody co-op

    SR3 is at it's best when it is being completely insane. Most of the missions are boring despite there being some great ones in there and the side activities can be downright terrible at points (Except for Professor Genki's Super Ethical Reality Climax, that was awesome).

    The story in SR3 is poorly written and doesn't leave any impact on the player like SR1 and 2 did. The returning characters have become boring and the new characters are nothing to write home about. At the start of SR3 the Saints are exiled from Stilwater and are placed in the new city of Steelport. Steelport is not a bad setting but Stilwater was more varied.

    Another problem with this game is its length, I 100% completed it in 15 hours, for an open world sandbox this is terribly short, although this is probably due to the fact that a large portion of the game was cut to be DLC in a scummy business practice.

    Final Thoughts: Good but not as good as SR2, if you find the complete edition for cheap, pick it up, you won't regret it.    … Expand

    Not so much a bad game but just a boring game. The game is very unrealistic and way too goofy. The series started off trying to steal some of Grand Theft Auto sales with the first game (which actually was a pretty fun game) but then they tried to create their own flavor with the sequels. Saints row the Third is just simply "another game". Not a bad game but not a good game either. 6/10

    This game is fun and crayzie like everyone says but it feels too much like SR2. The graphics are almost the same , the gameplay mechanics still feel clunky, Not to mention this is a very glitchy game. I really expect a little more from SR3.

    GTA lite anyone? Driving control is nowhere near as good as GTA, Combat controls are about the same level of clunkyness as GTA, but you don't notice because your character is pretty much invincible (even on normal setting). And you can do more dressing up, Especially comedy dressing up, but that all fits in with the loony toons graphics and zany setting.

    This game is fun, has lots of items to beat up people with, and serves hours of trying out new weapons and roaming the streets. However, the campaign was short, and sort of creative, but not mind blowing. Most places look the same, and no stronghold looks different on the inside except the HQ.     I still haven't played Saints Row 2 and I feel I need to, because I've been told that it's better than Saints Row The Third in many ways. After it's awesome first 3 hours Saints Row The Third really starts to show its stale spots. I'm a fan of open world games that give me plenty of optional side activities for me to do outside of the main missions. My problem with Saints Row The Third isI still haven't played Saints Row 2 and I feel I need to, because I've been told that it's better than Saints Row The Third in many ways. I'm a fan of open world games that give me plenty of optional side activities for me to do outside of the main missions. My problem with Saints Row The Third is that, while there are activities like Gang Takedowns and mini games to do in the open world, the main missions force you to do these anyway.
    There's no doubt that most of the main missions are great and there's so much creativity. Hell, there's even a mission where you have to drive a tiger around the city while avoiding 'press' vans and trying not to piss off the tiger! The first mission also gives you really good first impressions. But despite this level of creativity I always felt like the overall game was missing something and I ended up not doing the side activities and just doing the main missions which made for an extremely linear 12 hour experience.
    The city of Steelport was not worked on enough in The Third. I did not feel the need to return to the game and explore it once I'd completed it and the graphics are average. My final gripe with the game is that it really started to show its bugs near the end. The game froze twice in my last two hours playing it and on the last mission when travelling to destinations enemies would practically spawn directly in front of me causing me to crash into them. This is pretty bad considering this game came out 3 years ago and many of its issues still haven't been patched.
    Aside from those issues the game is still a ton of fun. You can pick it up pretty cheap now second-hand and it does have its share of variety, interesting characters and a unique visual style...and sex jokes, lots and lots of sex jokes. This game goes over-the-top a lot, but while I could recommend this game to people at its current exchange price there are plenty of other excellent games out there that also go over-the-top but don't have as many of this games annoyances and are generally just more fun. While I've yet to play previous Saints Row titles I'd recommend Saints Row 4. Sure it reuses the open world in this game, but at least it's filled with collectibles that get you to explore Steelport more, the side missions are incredibly fun (especially insurance fraud) and they're not mandatory, and the creativity put into all of the missions is truly unparalleled and the amount of fun you can have with the superpowers is practically unlimited. Plus, I've put over 40 hours into SR4 and a maximum of 13 hours into The Third.    … Expand

Just soooooo bad, they took out a huge map, buying decent stores and houses and properties. And passed off the fun with about 2 weapons and a hover bike. And killing of JG WTF! A total let down, and to then ask for a online code and offer a season pass omg! Not worth it, there's about 2 hours 50 mins difference between playing co-op and putting the code in. And not a good easteregg to mention. This should be saints row 1.5 not 3! Ohh well roll on gta5 because most 360 games this year have been total **** batman letdown, gears letdown, dead rising rip off now this..... Uncharted 3 or skyward sword are head and shoulders above anything for G.O.T.Y.… Expand

In the third game the humour is still immature and silly but the second game was clever too. The writing in my opinion went completely out the window; now it feels like they're just pandering to reach out to as big an audience as possible.
    Combat is very repetitive as the AI is straight up retarded and the harder enemies are not hard because they're well-designed but more so because they just have larger health-pools than their low-life counterparts. Weapon-variety is welcome here but doesn't really save the gameplay when that's what you'll be doing most of the time.
    Character-customization is absolutely ridiculous (not as good as in SR2 though) and that is probably the game's biggest strength as both the story and gameplay fall short.
    My last gripe is that the characters are very bland and boring. This is most likely as a result of the lack-luster writing, all the gangs seem insignificant and not one of them stands out as truly unique or interesting.    … Expand

    Honestly, you won't like this game if you played "Saints row 2". Jokes are rarely ever funny, story is bland, and lacked elements of roleplay brought in by Saints row 2. I don't care much about most of these besides the story. I'm not usually one to care much about the story of games but Saints row: The Third failed to bring even a decent story. Gameplay was fine though.

    I really liked Saints Row and Saints Row 2 but this game is just absurd. If you like crazy gameplay with no real sense than this game is for you, but just not for me. Sorry but they overdone this third part in my opinion, i like fun and joke sand everything but this was too much. There is also not very much to do and you are through it very fast and i was very disappointed as a fan of theI really liked Saints Row and Saints Row 2 but this game is just absurd. If you like crazy gameplay with no real sense than this game is for you, but just not for me.     A step down from the other Saints Row games I hate. I didn't even need to complete this rubbish pile of poop. Big and empty city. Still has crappy car physics. Still has 2004 level graphics. Poor storyline. Hardcore is too easy. To make you fanboys understand:

And that is saying alot because the first two games were amazing, and had balance. The only improvement they made was the graphics, and the **** QTE.     Many freezes, crashes, bugs and problems make this title a bad thing to get for $60. This game also has DLC, however, the DLC is already on disk. Also the bugs can cause major problems to your system. Stay clear and wait for the bargan bin. Dont get me wrong, its good, but not that good. I loved SR1 and 2 but this is NOT good.     It seems pretty obvious that Volition is cashing out on the series with this title. There is less customization, fewer missions, and the game just feels a whole lot emptier than Saints Row 2. Content that should have been in the game to begin with (Such as cheat codes that were in Saints Row 2) has been removed and packaged as day one DLC. There isn't anywhere near as much of a soundtrackIt seems pretty obvious that Volition is cashing out on the series with this title.     The game is far too short and the DLC pack is a rip off for $20, it's worth is at least $5. It's best to buy this game when the price gets low to avoid disappointment. Would make a good bargain game for later instead of wasting your money now. Get Skyrim instead if money is tight, HOURS OF FUN!.

    The game for one, is too short. It has a lot less content than any other game in the series, and it does not deserve the term Saints Row. What made the previous games bad, it took that and amplified it by 100. Once the story is finished, there is no replay value whatsoever. The characters have been desecrated beyond belief. The game play sucks so boring and stupid, 6 million bullets in ur head and you still live , I find all you do in this game is fight loads of people and get no where. I cannot understand why this poop is so high rated, doesn't the price drop of the game tell youwell well well saints row ermmmmm crap to start with, I thought this game looked really good but I was soooooooo wrong.     Volition gets many things right in Saints Row: The Third in what is no doubt a fine sequel, but it's very much a case of sequelitis for the THQ franchise. The zany and over-the-top nature, well-written script and whole host of sandbox toys are held back ever so slightly by the oddly paced and repetitive proceedings of the game's main story.

    Saint's Row: The Third sets out with a great ambition of giving the player freedom and an arsenal of fun elements to play with. Unfortunately, though, the game still falls a bit short with a somewhat childish sense of humour and quirky game mechanics.

    Despite my gripes with the multiplayer options, the 10-to-12-hour campaign's still very much worth the price of admission, and it needs to be seen to be believed-trust me, this game's done more than enough to earn its "M" rating from the ESRB.
