This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I thought it was okay but it seems that the makers of the game were just trying to finish it as fast as possible and they should have been more creative and almost all the missions are loyalty missions like the ones from saints row 4. Expand

Here's the question for anyone who was a fan of Saint's Row 4 and considering purchasing Gat Out of Hell, did you like the side activities? IfHere's the question for anyone who was a fan of Saint's Row 4 and considering purchasing Gat Out of Hell, did you like the side activities? If not, then the game will quickly get annoying as the main quest acts like pre-loyalty missions your companions would give in SR4, a couple quick lines of dialogue then off to start a mini game, only this is only interaction beyond a couple short cut scenes.

For me the biggest let down was the lack of a radio. I was happily envisioning flying through the underworld with my K12 radio, but alas it's gone. As music choice was a fair bit of the enjoyment during the monotonous moments of SR4, the lack of it just highlights how much the game is just backtracking and collectibles hunting.

This isn't to say the game isn't worth a rental or borrow, but that purchase even at $20 may leave you wanting. Certainly if you haven't experienced the awesomeness that is SR4, especially the later versions with all the DLC included, it would be a much better value. If you've maxed SR4 and have to continue, borrow or rent as 100% completion should take 12-15 hours.

Horribly buggy, both me and my friend bought copies of this game for the Xbox 360 and have endured constant freezes and crashes that prevented us from even being able to finish the game. What's more, the actual game itself captures none of what made any of the previous Saints Row games good. Say goodbye to customisation as you'll be playing most of the game as Jonny Gat, the most overrated Saints Row character. There's basically no point in playing as Kinzie because most of the missions can't be completed with her. Flying mechanics are awkward and extremely difficult to get used to. The game lacks any charm or genuine humour that the previous Saints Row's did. I ended up skipping most of the cutscenes where the story turned into this cringeworthy musical thing that felt out of place. Worst of all, the entire game centres around side missions, and not even the good ones from Saints Row 4. I did appreciate the entirely new open world, the reduced price and the inclusion of old saints characters, but I traded this in soon after as I became horribly disinterested in this unfocused, buggy crap that doesn't deserve the Saints Row licence. If player customization is one of the features that you liked about this series so far, you should avoid this game. There are only two fixedIf player customization is one of the features that you liked about this series so far, you should avoid this game. There are only two fixed protagonists that the game allows you to play as, and you can't customize their outfits or anything else at all. Apart from that, this game mostly recycles content from the previous installment, even the graphics pretty much are the same. This game doesn't cost as much as other titles, but it is still too expensive for pretty much being a DLC sold as an own game. You should wait for a discount if you're still interested in playing this game. Expand
