Joe's Adventure is a little step ahead of the previous DLC, but original problems still remain: missions are flat and your action is quite driven. Anyway, it's always the best Mafia game available and the main character rocks.

Pick it up if Mafia II was your favorite game of 2010, otherwise save your game time and Microsoft Points for something more compelling and enjoyable.

In short, if you enjoyed the original game enough that you would like to experience more of it, than Joe's Adventures is a worthwhile investment.

Brilliant shoot-outs are dulled by maddening side missions in this inconsistent add-on.

I like Mafia 2, but I have not seen such a boring and disgusting gameplay as this dlc 1. It has nothing to do with the main game, there is no such thing as a cutscene, they made a task menu with a simple screen and the ridiculous part is there are more bugs in this dlci than the original game

The little bit of cutscenes we get are well voice acted and are entertaining but during the 8 hour campaign they reduce all non essential missions to text based story markers. This marks the end of the epic feeling as the game gets weighed down by needless timed missions and having to zig zag your way back and forth across the map. When you finally get to a mission the reward is(for the most part) a dull, badly designed level, that usually frustrates on multiple levels.Due to the time limit initiated on every mission where the vehicles were definitely not built for the speed needed. In one instance, the objective is to take a car with a bomb under the seat where you can’t go below 30 mph.The idea is solid but over reactive police and moody traffic makes for more failure than should be acceptable. When the inevitable fail comes along there are no checkpoints and you have to make the long trek back to the mission area. That's not to say there aren’t some fun levels as the “Important” big levels are the big gun battles you remember from the main game.Though they are for the most part reskins of previously done missions.

The core game play of a 3rd person cover based shooter is still fun. However the over reliance on floaty and hard to control vehicles within a time limit make this an experience that doesn’t feel the need to be played.
