    Left 4 Dead is a great game in many different aspects. It's one of those games that you and your friends will keep playing day in and day out. The game is scary and intense. Not sure why there is a 6.0 overall rating for the game? Something has to be wrong.

    I must say, this game's rated very low for such a good game. There are 4 possibilities... 1) The demo was terrible and people hate the game because of it 2) People have pirated the game and think it's rubbish and want their... 'money' back 3) The console version of the game is totally different to the PC version 4) Fanboys of the PS3 are jealous that it's coming I must say, this game's rated very low for such a good game. Now, I know that the demo is great fun, that pirates have acquired the game with out giving anything to the producers so the least they can do is to leave them alone instead of destroying them further with a bad review... and that people I know who have played the Xbox version absolutely love it. Which leaves point 4. Really, what are you PS3 owners thinking? Are you really that intimidated by such a good game coming out on a rival console that you have to damage its success as much as possible? Do you really have nothing better to do with your time than to rate down a game with out even leaving a reason for it? People like you shouldn't even be called gamers. To take sides over such a trivial thing and to hurt those who haven't done anything to you... you should be ashamed of yourselves. I pity those PS3 owners who aren't to do with this.     It's not worth sixty dollars, that's for sure. I look at all the professional reviews here and I'm helped to raise my eyebrow in disagreement. As a gamer I felt the game was weak, the attempt was mediocre, the experience was average. This is a 20 dollar game. Because let's face it. All this game is... is the zombies mod for CS:S that has been tweaked. The graphics It's not worth sixty dollars, that's for sure. Because I have not enjoyed one of their games for the consoles. "But! But! It has fun and it's so innovative!" Yes, it is mindless fun. But I'd like a little more bang for my buck. But really? Innovative? Just because it refuses to hire proper writers to write a entertaining script? A regression is not a innovative element. It's moronic and pointless. Especially for story-driven gamers.... and please don't say I lack imagination. Because I played Fable 2 last month completely vivid in what was happening. The environment gave me the concept of story. This game... really didn't do that for me. Call me a cynic or narrow-minded, but, still I just can't see how this is worth my 60 dollars. At all. Even with the multiplayer component. This game lacked substance. It was a CS:S mod clone marketed well. Thats all it will ever be. People look for a story, especially in this day and age. So don't be lazy, Valve. Even with Half-Life you used your scripting skills with your writers fairly well... bah. This game is a 3.5, mediocre and worth a rent.     a lot of shooting. too much pacing. repetitive. not any story - even if it's supposed to be a blend of multiplayer and story. learning curve is high on the infected versus play. levels are too long for casual play. not layed out well. repetive graphics,. two worlds are almost the same.

    Simply amazing, if you want to experience a game that demands teamwork and cooperation- and also wow's its players with amazing graphics, visual effects, blood & gore, cinematic nuances, and raw intensity, get this game. Perhaps the best attribute about L4D is the AI, its impossible to predict whats going to happen. You can play the same level 100 times and never see the same spawn Simply amazing, if you want to experience a game that demands teamwork and cooperation- and also wow's its players with amazing graphics, visual effects, blood & gore, cinematic nuances, and raw intensity, get this game. Perhaps the best attribute about L4D is the AI, its impossible to predict whats going to happen. You can play the same level 100 times and never see the same spawn setups, truely amazing. Perhaps the only flaw with L4D is that the other difficulty levels dont quite deliver the chills and thrills that expert does, it seems to have a sever difference between expert and advanced- so novice fps players may not get the same experience as more seasoned ones.… Expand

    Giant Bomb should be ashamed for giving this an 80, and Mortal Kombat vs. DC a 100. Left 4 Dead is simple, but it certainly doesn't deserve anything that's just in the 8 range and below for ratings. It has it's flaws and a little lack of depth, but it's an amazing experience, with one of the best and most interesting online modes and team-based gameplay I've seen.

    This game sucks the only thing that is good is the co op but if u dont have live this game blows by its self If u think about it the story is ALOT like resedent evil a virus that spreads n makes zombies wow how original YAWN!!!! retarded i dont like this n dont recommend buying this garbage game at $60 maybe 40 but not 60 ripoff n but if u dont have live do not get this game.

    This is easily the best co-op game I have ever played! This is a real co-op game where if you get split up YOU WILL DIE. This may sound bad but its really not. It's not like Halo or CoD were you can split off from your team & go all Rambo on the zombies, you have tho stick together and watch eachothers back which gives the game an authentic "survival" aspect. Plus the Director keepsThis is easily the best co-op game I have ever played! This is a real co-op game where if you get split up YOU WILL DIE. This may sound bad but its really not. It's not like Halo or CoD were you can split off from your team & go all Rambo on the zombies, you have tho stick together and watch eachothers back which gives the game an authentic "survival" aspect. Plus the Director keeps you on edge the whole game and always gives you a different challange every time you play. Another big part of the game which was compleatly left out of the above reviews is the versus mode. The versus mode is a maximum of 4-on-4 where 4 people are survivors and 4 people are special zombies. The teams swichup at the end of every round so that you can get your revenge. Heal yourself and get instant gratification and or heal a friend and hope for reciprocation. You can also carry only one explosive at a time so use it wisely.     Finally a co-op FPS that has re-playability. Left 4 Dead is quite fun to play with skilled players. The multiplayer interface is very well done with the ability to jump in and out of games. Some of the level design seems a bit dark, cluttered and claustrophobic. Overall this game provides some new substance that is has been lacking in this genre.

    Left 4 Dead is truly one of the most fascinating games I've played in years. It brings out most of the qualities i have been looking for: cooperation, lots of guns and a lot of teamwork. Although it lacks many things that would make it perfect, it is still a game to play, and every penny you spent on it, will pay off immediately as you start. In other words: Epic.

    Too much violence, too much gore. I don't think the average household parent would want their child playing this terrible game. I know my son won't play it. I have seen this game in action. I suggest a boycott of this violent game.

    BASED ON THE DEMO: This game was one of the most enjoyable games I've ever played. And that was just the demo. The spawn points for enemies, weapons, even the music effects and the like change every playthrough and when you get a good group of guys to play with, this game is amazing. GOTY-quality.

    I'm sorry, but I was anxiously awaiting this game, but it turned out sadly very poor, and very last gen. The graphics are weak, the gameplay is brainless, and the game design is 8 years past acceptable. As a 360 owner, I'm shocked and appauled that this game is getting great reviews. It pains me to see junk like this (and it is junk, like it or not) when it's been seen what I'm sorry, but I was anxiously awaiting this game, but it turned out sadly very poor, and very last gen.     Simply the best cooperative shooter you can play, and the first to specificly focus on innovating coop gameplay, the combat is simple, but the gameplay is unpredictable and challenging, playing with friends creates its own unique experience, when a demo keeps people interested longer than most full games, its doing somthing right!

    This game was hyped to be great, and turned out to be a great disappointment. This is the first Valve release that actually sucks. In a nutshell, it's a game that looks more like a half-life 2 mod than anything else. The gameplay depth is so shallow that it feels home-brewed by some dudes in their basement.     this game really is good. The reason it got such a low user rating as ps3 fanboys have slated valve off as valve dont write games for ps3. Look at the critic score not user score. Pretty pathetic that people do this to prove their console is the better... Sad little lamers... Who cares...

    Best zombie game yet. Every turn reveals a new futile situation where you think "there's no way we can get out of this!" But, working together, there is always a way out. People who like to run-and-gun or those who go off on their own for points grabbing will not do well in this game. Fight together or die alone.

    Ive only played the demo so far but i can honestly say ive never had so much fun playing a game since, god i dunno, a long time!. It has Good graphics and Amazing Gameplay. I rate it 10 simply becuase It is soo much fun, especially with ya mates. Its fast Paced, Frantic and Surprising!. You will never know when the next wave of zombies will appear because its completely different every Ive only played the demo so far but i can honestly say ive never had so much fun playing a game since, god i dunno, a long time!. Its Made by valve and they have a brilliant track record for there games.( counterstrike, Team fortress 2) Although the content is a little low, you have a lot of variety in game play to make up for it. Zombies and monsters will take u when u least expect it. When you think your safe think again because the AI is Sum of the best i have seen and will take you by storm. For example: All the zombies appeared to be cleared and it was at the end of the level and i was just going down sum stairs to collect a few items for the next stage, when all the sudden A horde of hundreds of Zombies appear out of no where when all my mates went with me and i got completely over run in seconds. I had to sound Help right away. Evan all my friends were having a hard time saving my ass. Unfortunately i didn't make it, So i recommend when you do play this Game Don't wonder off even if there is no zombies in site!(especially then) There is more to it than zombies as well you get Bloomers which are like Fat and Slow Zombies that can not run. It pukes loads of green stuff on u, which attracts hordes off zombies towards u while your blinded for a minute. It gets worse than that. There is Hunters which Pick off the weakest members or ones that are furthest away from the group etc. they are very fast can crawl on walls and while pounce on top of you and rip u to shredds with its deadly claws. they can kill u in less than 10 seconds with full Life bar! and There is others ones 2, the worst ones would be the Tank and the Witch. The Witch Kills u in one hit and will only attack when disturbed. The tank will not stop until u are completely dead, evan when ur lying on the floor. Takes Alot of Team effort to kill and is very fast and Strong. In the Full Game you are able to play as the monsters as well and control the Zombies yourself, plus those who like multilayer split screen for the xbox this has it to. So for those who dont have online this is Still worth it to buy, hell its still worth it just playing on ur own because even your team mates or bots in the game are awsome to play with, whether there computers or real people lol. The AI is that Damn good lol. There are many Levels to the game aswell in many different settings to suit your pleasure. Plus i herd that there will be a content update shortly after the release of the game which should include more levels weapons and so forth. So i wouldn't worry about content either to be honest. Anyway the story is pretty average but in for a game like it is it doesn't really need one. Its Just about having a Bloody good time with really friends really. I love it, everyone who's played with me Loves it, where all buying it. Its amazing on both platforms xbox360 and PC, ive played both versions. Neither stands out over the other, the only difference would be the graphics are better on PC but that Varies on how good ur PC is really. The xbox still look nice still tho. PC version is the cheapest one and will get all updates for free, while xbox is about a tenner more but offers 4 player split screen as an extra. I wouldnt always go for the cheaper option tho unless ur friends are getting it on PC and your PC can run it well. The easiet option would to get it for xbox. To Download PC Demo head over to : Google and type steam, click on the steam website and then download steam. then download left 4 dead Demo from Steam, its free. The aiming using the xbox 360 controls were OK, but precision aiming is no where to be found, which makes killing at longer ranges difficult at best. I will say, however, the AI director techI waited 2 hours to play this game at pax this year and boy was it not worth the wait! Your gonna get L4D eventually, it's been confirmed so relax & stop attacking this game you losers. I give it a 10 to try & save this game a little till it ACTUALLY comes out so people can insert "REAL" reviews.

    This genre of game is getting very tired. The co-op is probably the best part of this game but it does not change the fact that its still just another zombie shooter. If you are considering this title I would recommend maybe dead space which takes the zombie shooter to outer space and has increadibly creative visuals. Or maybe the original zombie shooter RE5.     Left 4 Dead's simplicity offers purity of gameplay - the same reason that gamers keep returning to classic arcade games. Come to think of it, with a handful of levels and unpredictable events happening within them, Left 4 Dead has more in common with "Ms. Pac-Man" than just the eating. It's the same thing over and over - but when simple ingredients are perfectly prepared, what could be a mere snack becomes a feast. This one just happens to be on human flesh. [Holiday 2008, p.32]

    There's absolutely no doubt that Left 4 Dead is one of the most social and exciting multiplayer games that we've ever played. It's almost pitch perfect in how it captures the tension and the action of a Hollywood zombie movie.

    The inventive and highly entertaining competitive multiplayer mode just adds to the experience, and we're looking forward to seeing what Valve's got planned for the game's future. Out of all the titles that have shaped the Year of Living Cooperatively, this may be the best experience of them all.
